Don't miss out on the action!
I owned & restored an all matching numbers '69 GTO 400 / 4spd / Front Discs years ago. I still feel the '68-'70 GTO was one of the top 5 styled cars of all time.
Absolutely top 3 best looking vehicles ever! I honestly can't think of another 2 but I know the 69 and 70 gto are in top 5 imo!!
How did it drive??
My dad’s friend took me for a ride in his ‘69 GTO (400 TH400) when I was 12. Ray could burn rubber for blocks, I swear! My voice changed that day…been into performance cars ever since!
spinning tires are more indicative of low traction than high performance
@@NoPrivateProperty Bet it didn’t matter to a 12 year old. I would have been 12 in the summer of ‘ 69 and I know the muscle cars of the day sure made a impression on me! 😜
@@stevecarmack6267 it's fine to be impressionable as a silly kid. the point is to grow up at some point
I am a Mopar guy but I did own a 69 Lemans and really liked it. GTO was not affordable even back in the 80s. Actually owned a few GM cars in my lifetime. My 65 Corvair Monza 110 being one of my favorites.
Some GTO's were still very affordable in the 80s up thru to around the late 90s. I bought a 1969 GTO with a 1970 YC code 455 from a T/A, a turbo 400 with a b&m shift kit, a 3.90 geared safe-t-track 10 bolt rear, fresh Carousel Red paint and brand new black interior. I "stole it" for $1300 in 1997. The guy that built it gave up on it because he couldn't get the wipers to work because of a bad 1 year only switch that at the time was impossible to find & it ran very hot because he overlooked alot of small finishing items like installing a 4 core radiator, wrapping the headers, filling the cooling system with the proper mix etc. Once I sorted out all the little sh#t that was ignored or just overlooked it turned into the best car I ever owned. I sold it a few years later when a guy out of the blue just made me an absolutely insane offer I couldn't refuse. It wasn't what they sell for today but let's just say I did very, very well for my $1300 investment along with some time & patience. It only took me about a month to sort out & fix almost everything. The most expensive part was that wiper switch. I found a n.o.s. one at the Spring Carlisle swap meet a few months after I got it. I felt violated & ripped off however because I had to pay $350 for it but I wanted wipers BAD and he was the only guy who had one!!! Deals even today are still out there but I'll admit it's uncommon.
@@rogergoodman8665 Once in a while you get lucky like that. My car budget in the 80s was $500 or less which you could buy a lot of decent cars back then in that price range.
My dad had a '69 Judge. It was the common Carousel Red, but it had a factory white interior. I remember seeing pictures of it sitting in my grandparents driveway. It's literally the only '69 Judge I've ever seen with factory white interior. On CZcams or anywhere else. Man, i wish he'd kept that car.
Here comes the Judge!
I'm a mechanic and like all cars !
Judge is a beautiful and powerful classic!
My brother owned a 1968 GTO RamAirII, 6.5L 400h.o. It was a very rare optioned GTO. It was Mayfair Maze (pale yellow) black vinyl top, hide away headlights, black interior, a actual "Hurst" Dule Gate (his & hers) shifter. I think 68 might have been the last year, maybe 69s as well. But I know the later modles still had the dule gate shifter, but they were not Hurst specific. Marc's shifter had Hurst stamped on the side. It came with the optional 410 rear gears. Man that Color scheme with the Mayfair Maze and the Black on Black was cool as hell. And idk what it was that that lil goat was possessed with, but I seen that car with my own 2 eyes, out run several cars that it should have had zero chance against!! Hemi cars, 440 Sixpack cars, 427 SS cars. Craziest shit I ever seen. No way his car should have beat most of those rides. But it did. Now I will say, his best buddy had a 70 Hemi Cuda that Would drag Marc's ass most of the time. But that thing probably had 150+ more H.P.s and weighed about 500lbs less. I used to watch Lonnie jump 3Ltr pop bottles with the front tires just for fun. LoL It was probably the most radical street car I ever rode in. At the time. This was the late 70s, early to mid 80s. If we could get 400hp out of our small block 350s, we thought we were kings!! I would have loved to have the tech they have today back then.
I had a 69 Judge when I was 17. It was bright orange black interior Ram air IV 4 speed version. Never lost a race in it. Loved the Judge.
If she was a REAL ram air 4, you will kick yourself for seliing her!!
@@jasonmacneil2256 it was a original ram air IV . It even had the hideaway headlights. but I didn't sell it. It was the one car i held on to for most of my life.My ex brother in-law and ex wife sold it about 12 years ago. Dumb asses only got $5.000 for it.
In the summer of 1978, my ex and I went to Car Craft Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana. We drove our 1969 GTO Judge and had the time of our lives. There were several magazines that featured it, the best photo shoot was for the cover of Popular Hot Rodding October 1978 issue. It was hugger orange and one of the first blown cars driven on the street, much less all the way to Indianapolis from outside of Nashville. We were treated like rock stars and will never forget it. The photo shoot was taken behind a row of trees inside the fairgrounds with no one in on what was about to happen. Steve Reyes wanted a burnout shot for the cover and he got what he wanted. It was fantastic!
Now I own a 1972 Corvette Stingray and will always love hot rods but the GTO was the ultimate.
maybe the time of YOUR life......
@@NoPrivatePropertyWhy would you say that? Another sucker of life
Oh boy, you could be smacked for calling that color "hugger orange"!!😊 It is actually called carousel red!
@@NoPrivateProperty why would you say something as STUPID as that! Go back in your HOLE jen!
No doubt, Pontiac made the coolest cars.
My mother had a 68 GTO convertible with the "His & Hers" Hurst shifter when I was a teenager.
did she use his or hers?
@@NoPrivateProperty Funny
@@NoPrivateProperty lol.
The color is rare for a judge, adding the white vinyl top and red interior makes this one very special.
My buddy in Philly has the same color Judge and a blue 1970 Ram Air IV
Think I've seen the blue one here on YT. I want it.
💥 Never Seen That Color Combo… Ever💥
“Here comes the Judge”
Little GTO....really know how to shine. Three deuces and four speed and a 389. Listen to her tackin' up now, listen to her whine. Turn it out, wind it up, blow it out: GTO.
I remember my Dad Street racing a GTO in his Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum .
And who won
ALL RISE!!! 🤘😎
Help a Mopar guys here... was the Judge package a low-budget, go-fast upgrade? Or was it more in line with a GTX, when compared to a cheaper Road Runner?
It started off as a low budget rival to the Road Runner in 1968 for the 1969 model year, but at the last minute, before the car was released to production, it was transformed into a go-fast upgrade, in line with the GTX.
John DeLorean got his vision In overtime with the Judge. It started out to be a common man's car with a lot of power. By the time it was done we had the Judge. The car that started all the graphic paint jobs like the Cuda. The first 6 months the only color the Judge came it was Carousel Red which is that beautiful bright orange like the one I owned for many years..
I'm not a Pontiac fan but that's a beautiful car
Perfect GTO of the day. Sorry GTO Judge!
Cheers 🇨🇦
Awesome car Steve I love it!!!
Hi Steve, an Australian viewer here, love your videos. Just wondering how much they are asking for this car? (approximately will do)
above market value to be sure. if you have to ask, you can't afford it
I'm sure, with the "Judge" option, this car new went for around 4K. Now-a-days, I'll bet you'll pay more than "twice" that. :)
@@joequillun7790 I was hoping to get a rough dollar figure? does anyone actually know?
Military jargon
Great looking ride! But the white walls!?!?
Disgusting, don't ya think. Along with the vinyl top. :(
That just adds class lol like white for a queen
Possibly assembled in Framingham Massachusetts.
Hassle the Judge to get Justice...
Steve, I love your content! But how do you not mention the hood tach???
This car to be frank might possibly be the coolest car not the most powerful but the tach on the hood would fog up on a rainy day or really cold but who cares .👍🤷♂️😎
Humbler was 1970 model.
Never saw a vinyl top Judge. Like the color combo tho, (W/O the white top)
What color is it or closest to? I'm color blind
@@AKAngelKingAK A deep dark maroon. Super nice. I like it better than orange.
@@joequillun7790 lol thanks I can't agree I think I like em all
🔥🐐🔥
Once car but was, never a PONTIAC FAN, 69 mach or Boss stang would eat it alive.
Wonder how long there is going to be a market for this era car ?
As cars become more and more appliances people with money will always want special cars.
I guess my true question is when the guys that could buy these autos when they 1st came out and now want to recapture a bit of their younger days 50+ years later ; what happens to the market value of these era cars when these guys start 'dying out'? When I go to car show here in the North East, I see a lot of people pulling in with these cars that are in their late 60's and 70's ;how much longer can they keep these cars ? And once they are no longer around who is going to then purchase these cars? Not the younger generation because I don't see many of them at the shows I attend
@@bbo40 I say the same thing BB. I'm 65, (and also in New England), and can't even afford a condition 5 car, never mind a running driver. I was fortunate enuff to have owned a few in my time, but want one more B4 I check out. Finances can't justify the expense of the asking price of these things. I'm also curious how long there'll be an interest in these, as drivers, not museum cars.
Vinyl roof wrecks the whole car
I agree, 100%.
Lol I can't, that white just adds class
Id definitely delete the vinyl top!!
The coke bottle shape was 66 and67 not 68 or 69
The Judge was made by Pontiac and I rode in a 70 Hemi Cuda. Which one is more impressive? My race car was a 69 Doge Dart Swinger. Hmm…….
👍👌💪
Very rare color I thought all 69s were carousel red
Just the first 5,000 cars Work carrousel red
~
Very nice car..but i did see the rusty metal in the trunk down by the tail lights .
It's surface rust
@@davidkastin4240 well it should of been removed you know didn't look good.
@@jeffreypetree7163 Seen it on the master cylinder too.
@@joequillun7790 😆
Just some patina boys lol
Jack base but no jack...?
the hood scoops are not black either, that
came with ram air.
Ok
Anyone else cringe by him touching that endura bumper like that.
Always thought the judge package was garish and didn’t work well.
Wow, Ive never known Steve to be incorrect. But the "Humbler" was not connected to the GTO til the following year, 1970!!
