I expected the iPad 2 to be the winner! Why? Because the iPad 2 came with the A5 chip & the iPhone for came with the older A4 chip. So therefore, that’s why I expect the iPad 2 to be the winner for this video

Had a look at the ipad 2 (was considering buying one) and inspite of how big, thin and fast it is I couldn't think anything but "Ooh, look at the pixels!". Retina display of iphone 4 is truly superb, and going back to non-retina is now impossible for me (rather like watching SD 4:3 TV after HD 16:9 - it just seems weird and wrong!!

I know its a large part software, but for comparison sake I ran Sunspider on Chrome (stable) on an old Athlon XP 1800+ desktop I have, it got a bit under 1000. We're getting close to having these tablets being as quick at web browsing as desktops of 6-7 years ago, thats not bad. Plus, GPU accelerated videos gives them an advantage.
The biggest downfall of the iPad 2 for me is the lack of flash for the camera, and no retina display. Whoever thinks its just a bigger version of the iPhone/iPod touch need to rethink that...
@kidduelists Look up the Megahertz Myth. Just because one looks faster by megahertz, doesn't mean it's faster. The A5 chip is definitely much faster than the A4. It's probably much smaller and more efficient in design.

Another thing, putting the Retina display to the iPad is impossible for now. Come to think of it. The iPad's screen is almost 9 times the size of the iPhone's! Now, putting the Retina display into the iPad means making it's resolution around 8640- by- 5760! Dude! Even the greatest super computer doesn't have that screen resolution! Well, to be honest the comparison is a bit unfair... The iPad was already a tiny bit faster than iPhone 4, and they shared the same chip, with the only difference of the iPhone 4 being a bit underclocked.
i have a iphone 4 its gorgeous the retina display i was in love with it until my dad bought galaxy s2 man i thought 800x480 pixels would look bad but it does nt it just fries m iphone 4 with its s.amoled plus screen its a beast iphone 4 is a great phone but u have to use s2 to believe its power and amazing display this is coming from an iphoe 4 user... s2 is the best right now but still i like my iphone along with my s2...
@petros1997able ipad is like a laptop, its another form of a buisness tool, if u work u could use it for reminders, if u want it for entertainment, it is good for you tube and great games, for music, its good for band notes, buisness deals, gigs and all of that

The ipad is obviously jailbroken. And, between Angry B HD and Angry Birds there is a quality difference, results in file size. So, the iphone should load faster. This is a +1 for the ipad! And yes, great tutorial.
How is it fair that you run that benchmark app on the iPad on Iphone 3gs-like resolution,while on the iPhone it runs at 960x640? Ofcourse it's gonna be better.

@iammike08 the iPad 2 is also underclocked. Teshs have shown that the dynamic speed maxes out at 898Mhz. The difference is the dual core chip.

iPad 2 + 11 years later = M2 iPad Pro 12.9-inch
The iPhone 4 runs at 800MHz, not 1GHz. It was downclocked compared to the 1GHz of the iPad 1.

The iPhone 4 has virtually identical specs to the iPad 1 aside from the ram. The iPad 2 has much better specs than the ipad 1 and iPhone 4.
