Sonic 06 is sadly the main reason why we'll never see an Adventure styled gameplay again nor have multiple playable characters in a 3D Sonic game. Sonic Team is just too afraid to go back to that style of game. And no I don't count Sonic Lost World as an Adventure style game. Lost World is way too different to be an adventure styled game in terms of controls, physics & level designs. Like I get that 06 almost killed the franchise & badly damaged its reputation for just how much of a glitched up, broken mess the game was, but at the same time that was 14 years ago, it wouldn't hurt Sonic Team to try out that formula again in the future, only this time improving the formula, further polishing it, don't rush the game out again & most importantly, hire people who knows & understands what made the Adventure games good.

I will forever hate 06, killed 3D Sonic, not even Generations is on par with the joy of playing SA1&2 for the first time.

I agree i loved Shadows Story the most and also most People aren't talkin about the PS3 Version some of the bugs where fixed cause it was released later i tried some bugs from the Xbox 360 Version and did it on the PS3 Version and it didn't work on PS3 lol i own both Versions

The only thing bad with the games was the broken game mechanics. Everything else was really amazing. The story, the return of Blaze, and the introduction of Silver were all incredible in a good way.
Blaze didnt even do anything and Silver played like doodoo

I loved the direction they tried to take for this (the only thing I would change is the romance between Elise and sonic, it could be portrayed as sonic is Elises first and only friend but she appreciates his efforts to keep her happy. No kiss either, maybe a tear could wake up sonic again. A more innocent friendship c:)

The video said why, the director left, the team was split in two, and they werent given time to polish and bug test.
Lol, the only difference between 06 and Adventures is the amount of glitches. Camera in Adventures was just as bad, plot was just as bad (but at least, in 06 they tried to write something cool and grandiose), voice acting was just as bad, level design was about the same, etc. It's just nostalgia filter.

Actually, Sonic Boom wasn't made by Sonic Team, it was made by Big Red Button.

What I dislike most is that it was the introduction of a new character with cool abilities and potential. But the game is such a mess that it perpetuates Silver as a joke of a character despite having been renewed in some capacity through cameos and the comic series. I actually really like Silver. I just hate how one bad game makes him a bad character in the eyes of the fanbase in general.
They should've kept him in in spite of all that. As well as Blaze. They really should be in more games

The definition of bestiality is "sexual activity between a human and another animal species." Let's see... the game is rated E10+ for ages 10 and older, kissing is not always equal to sex, and there was no sexual activity in any Sonic game prior.
Good grief! It was only ONE kiss, and it was to bring Sonic back to life (plus the Chaos Emeralds, of course); it's not like they were kissing each other before!
If one bad game ruined a series' reputation forever, then Hotel Mario and the CD-i Zelda games would've doomed their respective franchises for good.

Honestly, everyone has their own opinion, if someone enjoyed the game then they did. Just like me I grew up playing it and i honestly don't regret a single second spent on it, the controls may be broken, as well as a ton of other things but i was used to it and i honestly liked it...i know it sucks for its bugs but it's better than getting a game months later. (at least that's what i think)

At least the music is awesome and I still listen to them to this day. My favorite is Dreams of an Absolution. Both the original, fan-edited versions, and remixes.

This is the only sonic game I'm familiar with my friend broght it over when i was a kid it's what let me into the sonic world
I hate this game because I suffered through it, but at the same time, I feel extremely bad for it, it wasn’t Sonic Team’s fault, because SEGA forced them to rushed the game out the door way too quickly for the 15th anniversary and holiday season, it had the makings of a good game and I wanted to like it, but SEGA was too arrogant to see the problem.
Sonic O6 was a bad game but the soundtrack is a masterpiece it’ll always be my favorite out of the whole series, if only they can remake it or remaster it for all the bugs and fixes I’ll cop it still

On top of Sonic 06's failure, Sega never bothered to patch any of the major technical flaws in the game after release. I'd bet this would have been a much more bearable game if Sega supported it post-launch.
So my only question is this: if having Sonic releases on the 15th anniversary for all the generational systems is important to Shea, why not just open the budget so that Sonic Team could expand the staff for the releases? If the games were quality they’d make the budget back with higher sales and replay value. But I guess Sonic doesn’t deserve common sense economics 😒

I personally love the game because of the gem abilities, which is ironic because most of their abilities are a whole glitch that can last forever so it lead mostly to an S rank, especially the red and purple gems.
The game's music was phenomenal.. and despite how bad it was, it was still gratifying to get a S rank

If this was actually fully developed it would probably be awesome.
This isn’t the first time when the Wii interfered the development of a new outing from a series that originated in the 90s, the first that did was Rayman 4, but the difference between that and Sonic 06 was Rayman 4 was INTENDED to be a FULLY 3D platformer, but what happened was Ubisoft was a bitch to Phoenix’s vision, that they created the fucking Rabbids and ended up changing the entire game into a mini game compilation for the Wii and it was MUCH WORSE than Sonic 06, People DESPISED the game for not being a platformer and not being a true Rayman game like the first 3 games. Oh and the Rabbids in the game were panned, obviously.
