- We went back to Hollywood Studios today to check out some of the attractions that are rumored to be closing sometime soon! We also had a day of Disney firsts, which was super fun! We were finally able to experience The Magic Of Disney Animation (which was really cool), One Man's Dream (we learned so much about Walt's early years), and we finally got to eat at the SciFi Dine In (food was okay but the experience/atmosphere/theming were the best!) If you haven't checked these out, we recommend that you do soon! We had such a good time!

Fun fact: My great grandfather was an art director for Disney in California and he had a jungle cruise boat named after my great grandma! (It's in Orlando now)

Man, it still makes me sad the Disney has completely given up on 2d animation. 2d animation to me is Disney, it's how they started and how they were when I was little, I just still can't really see 3d animation being Disney-like. There's so much unique, artistic things you can do with 2d animation that you can't do with 3d. I wish they would combine both the animation styles more often like they did with the Paperman short film because that was absolutely beautiful.
Back in 1942, my yet to be aunt met my yet to be uncle at the Chicago USO where my yet to be aunt worked passing out doughnuts, coffee, smiles, encouraging conversation and danced with the guys being sent to war. They were kids, there was a 'thing' and after the war they married. He was an electrician and in 1949 found work in a tiny cattle/citrus town in central Florida called Orlando. In the 50's they went in with a friend and invested in orange groves southwest of town. A few years later they began receiving offers to purchase and after some negotiating they sold. The rest is history and part of Walt Disney World. My then uncle's last job before he retired was working on the monorail electrical system.

Sci-fi drive in is one of the coolest places to eat in MGM (I still call it that all the time). Loved rocketeer and still wish I could be him lol.
Awww, the Magic of Animation, One Man's Dream, and The Little Mermaid ride were some of my favorites!
really hating how Disney are getting rid of Walts legacy, I understand all the rides are old and need to be refurbished but they've gotten rid of everything Walt worked hard for. In that area it's probably just going to be Frozen rides and a show of Frozen I can already see it happening.
Also when I first went to Orlando a cast member told me EPCOT means "Every person comes out tired" and even though I know the real name for it, I will forever know the false name

I don't find them taking down One Man's Dream as disrespectful. Walt stated that as long as there is imagination, Disney parks will NEVER be complete. The fact that a tribute to him is going away, doesn't make the parks themselves any less of a way to remember him. He imagined most of this stuff, and as long as you know who Walter Elias Disney was, and what his dream was, and how it started, then I'm sure he would be just as happy.
I love Jen's Mickey ears - the bow made of a park map is genius!
Wow this Vlog brought back my past. My Mom was a retired banker of 40 years and when I was a little guy her boss was Cubby who gave me my 1st set of ears and Mickie watch. Wish I still had them. Thanks guys.

It would be really sad to see the animation studio and "one mans dream" to go because it shows disney's important historical past of how Disney parks and films came to be
I wish Walt's dream of EPCOT would have come true. I did love EPCOT in the beginning. and I still love a lot of EPCOT. I hope they don't lose all the Disney history. SciFi is our favorite. nothing like it. so glad u did it!!!!!!!!!

Hi Tim and Jenn to answer your question, yes that was someone's office. That whole building was built to do animation and to allow you to watch it all being created. You could see them doing the initial drawings and there were tons of animation desks. Then you saw them do the inking and the painting of the cells. you also got to watch them airbrush the backgrounds and there were samples of animation from the cartoons long ago. They even had the paint from the original Sleeping Beauty.
I am hoping One Man's Dream will be moved not completely shut down

One of the many perks to live in Central Florida is owning annual passes to theme parks and just going at your leisure and enjoying what the parks have to offer. That's why I want to move to Florida! Actually want to move back since its been over 20 years since I moved away. I miss Florida! 😔🌴

Dude, yes those were offices for animators back in the 90's when Studios first opened. We took the tour several times and watched them working on things.

Having worked at Hollywood studios and it being my favorite park, it's sad to see the attractions close! I know new and hopefully better things are to come, it just seems like more things are closing. Which mean less things to do in the park. Lol thank you for allowing us to enjoy the parks even when living far away!!

Cool! When we did the Disney Animation, we learned how to do Jimminy Cricket.
All it takes is a lightning strike to not hit a lightning rod, and strike something dry and you've got a fire. Happens quite a bit in the UK where we don't really have lightning rods on lower buildings.

I love the Sci-Fi Dine-In so much. I was there in November and my boyfriend ordered the Oreo Milkshake and we still talk about how good it was to this day.
I've always gone to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater when I go to DHS. I can't agree more that it's pretty expensive, but it's worth it. The ambiance is great, it's nice and dark, relatively quiet compared to the rest of the park, and a great way to stay cool while you grab some grub.
You have the best sunsets down there!! I will be down in September!
They need to keep One Mans Dream, whether it stays there or if it gets relocated, even to a different park. All this new stuff is great but us hardcore Disney fans need attractions like one mans dream, it reminds everyone where it all started.
You were wondering if the drawing rooms that were behind glass windows were once actually used. Yes, they were. My husband and I used to go to Disney a lot back in the 90's and we went there and it was very active then. Those rooms were full of people drawing. Thanks for filming this. It brings it back for us.
Hey Tim and Jenn! I've just got back from a two week holiday from Orlando and was looking all over the parks for you guys and was really sad I missed you! haha! From watching your videos you seemed to be going to the parks I was in but a day after! haha! Maybe next time I'll be lucky enough to see you! Thanks for all your trip advice and all your videos! They really shouldn't close One Mans Dream. Even if it's not the most popular attraction of Disney, it should remain there out of respect.
bellajacob12345 There are other ways to show respect. Like leaving all the clocks stuck at the exact time when Walt died, for example.
We were there that day too and had a cameo in the One Man's Dream section! Wanted to stop you and say hello, but didn't want to interfere. Great videos.

Man, so many of the original attractions from Disney's MGM/Hollywood Studios being taken out and now they plan on redoing the whole theme park again? Good gravy I'm feeling pretty old right now.

Coming back to Disney for the Second time in the same Year, this time without my wife,sadly. She passed unexpectedly this May but we had planned to go with my Oldest son and his incredible wife in December. We are honoring her by going there as we had planned and I'm so looking forward to being there. She loved Disney and Universal and hopefully it will make us feel a little better. Thanks Jen and Tim as we watched you guys for the past 2.5 years and followed your advice in terms of dealing with issues at both parks.. You guys are the best!!

I've never been into One Man's Dream before and now I'm regretting it. I hope they at least keep or move all that display stuff, it was really cool. I know a few of those Sci-Fi previews are also MST3K movies and I think the giant man is one of them.

Fun fact, you can get free ice water at any quick service restaurant by just going up to the counter and asking! Really helpful on a hot day, plus you don't have to pay for bottles!
I always thought that the Paris castle was a more film accurate Sleeping Beauty castle as it has the square hedges and tunnels.

When we went to sci fi diner we had Orange Blossom Pilsner.... It was awesome only place we could find it.
That first movie in the restaurant was "The Amazing Colossal Man". The giant man's name is Glenn. It was one of the movies they watched on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
I love Si Fi Drive In bc the food is good and it's quiet!! I will always eat there when I visit Disney!!

We are from Liverpool UK and been to Orlando 13 Times and never went to any of the Disney parks last September as we thought wait a few years till they update them, so we went to Universal.

I've seen the Walt Documentary and EPCOT Documentary and three more documentaries. My mom works there and I grew up with Disney so my son will grow up with Disney too.

New name of the park? I missed that news. That was the first place I worked as a Cast Member. I was a Park Greeter 13 freakin years ago! Time flies. It was a lot of fun working at this park. The role itself was not as fun but the park was nice :)
The scifi dine in is one of my favorites but I think around the corner is a Italian ace that's amazing and idk what it's called but they is like a package deal where u can eat there for dinner then go watch fantasmic and it doesn't matter how late u get there u will get really close or even front row but u normally u get alittle wet in the front but it's a good deal.

And that's where that big Tower Of Terror model went! I'm pretty certain it was in the ride's exit store when i went (2306). Love that model :)
It's cool that they have models of things like DisneySea too.
I loved the Sci-Fi diner! The food didn't stick out in my memory but the experience was amazing. You guys should also try the 50's diner there! Now THAT is a great experience!!

I ate at the Scifi diner. I went with my mom in March 2015. It's really cool haha. Plus they have amazing food. Love your guys vlogs cuz I get to keep up on what new things are coming to Universal or Disney World. Hope I get to meet you next year in March of 2016!!!

I hope they can keep the studio theme with backstage and movie production, but mix it with immersing you into the worlds like new fantasyland but with Pixar or Lucas for example.
They are changing the whole park to be more about movies now, instead of the making of movies.
I really hope they keep sci-fi drive in. The food is nothing special (the whipped cream is literally just whipped cream), but i agree with you: the theming can't be beat

I was so upset when they took out the Backlot Tour, and now they're taking out One Man's Dream! But I was told by a Cast Member that the park would be getting a huge Star Wars expansion, and I'm really excited for that!

I've seen the magic of Disney animation aka Drawn to animation with Mushu. It was very funny that mushu was talking to the cast member that he thought he was a dragon. But the cast member that mushu
Wasn't mushu and he wasn't even a dragon. But he was in a bad mood. I've seen the show in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2013. With tons of movie trailers and behind the scenes. It was a great show
I never understood why Hollywood Studios is the least favorite park for many people. I went to Disney World for the first time in 2011 and I expected it to be the worst of the 4, and I LOVED it. It's still my favorite park, it has really good attractions, and Fantasmic is awesome. Animal Kingdom is a lot more boring, in my opinion, although I do like it.

I'm not sure how in feel about the refurbishment of Hollywood studios. It has always been my favorite park, so I am skeptical. I will, however, accept much more Star Wars. I guess once I hear and see more about what is upcoming, I will be less skeptical. Got a lot of awesome memories in that park!

We were in the Orlando Airport the night of July 5th leaving Disney and the guy behind us in line for pizza showed us a picture he took of the hotel fire as they drove past it! Such a shame apparently it just opened under new owners before it happened!
in the animation studio Tim the office they still use because when I went there they were drawing disney princesses and other characters in the office you showed
The movie where the man throws the needle at the people, The waiters use to scream at the screen but I guess it scared kids- they also use to give out glow in the dark frisbees and cups with the kids meals. I still have ours.

we have an animation studio/ arena like that at California adventures just not as fancy. It was a lot of fun my mother and I spent nearly the hole day there and we drew Winnie the pooh.
