A grandson’s love for gardening has brought him much closer to his grandmother..what joy..❤
How many young men spend time this type of time with their grandparents? What a lovely soul Arthur has.
More than you think 💖
I wish I still could. Loved my gran.
Aint no party like my nana’s tea party.
I have been following Arthur for some time now. He is a treasure. Knowledgeable, articulate, charming, his love of plants and chickens is something I share. He is an artist, too. I wish him all the best in the busy world of gardeners in the UK. Maybe we will see him at Chelsea one day.
You kept him a great secret then! 😅❤
He IS Pretty special😉
You know, Arthur, I couldn't agree more when you mentioned that nobody at school helped you learn about the importance of looking after a garden or bees... As a school teacher and a person who loves all things about plants, trees, flowers, I also think our education system (Portugal here!) is failing there too.
Hopefully your message will be heard and who knows, things may start changing. Thanks for your absolutely incredible work!
"A lawn is just a carpet, dead."
I couldn't agree more.
Lovely young man...I understand the shock and sadness of losing the cherry tree...I spent 21 years developing 5 1/2 acres of stunning gardens and after I sold the home I just couldn't go back to see someone hack away all the love...I love that you work with nature and let it go it's way. Beautiful!
Well said Arthur..I am a biodynamic market gardener in Spain. There is far more emphasis here on teaching children about nature, how to plant, what is a plant. children know the names of plants here. It's not complete by any standards, but I am British and I know what school is there so I know this is better. This is, or was, prime agricultural land so I guess it's a hangover rather than a conscious choice to teach actual life instead of ever moving concepts and constantly shifting science.
Much of what I was taught is obsolete now. Plants and nature remain however.
We do have the plant blind here, they are omnipresent after all.
A recent house move saw two stunning bottle brush trees chopped..the excuse was the stamen where being knocked off by bees and they might have blown in the pool. I lived there for 5 years, the bottle brush debris never made its way in to the pool. The house is now AirBnB and I know in that sense they would have been a powerful asset.
So sad. Many people have no idea how they are connected to the plants. How the biology of soil systems underpin out own existence
You are at a.wonderful stage..you are aware far younger than I was before I switched to a more valuable relationship with nature.
When I was a kid computers where news and exciting so I wasted much of my time in this industry before my constant lifelong hobby growing of plants became unstoppable and I moved to Spain where land was more affordable.
Someone told me the other day
If 1 in 3 of us kept chickens, there would be no industrial chickens needed
@partidaportet27 - You had me at biodynamics!!! - If everyone lived a biodynamic and permaculture life, what a different world it would be. Please pass on your knowledge. I’m so glad you reached out to Arthur.
What a breath of fresh hope with this young man!
Looking after his grandma and nature. The best!!!
What a great young man, so wise and kind. Wishing you lots of success in the gardening world.
Near me an old lady who had tended to her garden lovingly for years. When she died the new people have cut down mature trees and dug up the front garden to park cars. I found myself being really angry.
That's so sad innit!
Happens all around! 😢
Oh my heart melts to see Arthur and his Grandma. 🥰Of all the things he gives to her ... time is probably the most precious and the gardening and fish and chips are a bonus. Xx
What a wise young man to already understand what is so important - to love nature and give to others. Well done parents.
Lovely piece. We need more people like Arthur! What a great bloke.
I totally agree.
Very intelligent young man. I love taking my grandson out to the garden and having him help me with flowers. On delivery day he gets a treat of his choice. I have ordered Arthur's book can't wait to get it x
Arthur's time with grandma in her garden is a joy! Arthur is so inspiring. Thank you for this beautiful film.
I love this kid! I've seen him twice on Gardener's World and he has a talent for flowers I have to say! So cute that he loves his chickens and his Grandma ❤️
Arthur alluded to a profound problem in our education system. Time is not taken to nurture young people's minds, so that they love and develop a passion for what they're learning. This young man, hungry for more, found a way to develop his own passion where his education left a void. That's a powerful lesson in and of itself. Young people like Arthur give me hope for our world.
What a lovely young man. We needs millions more Arthurs.
Loved the wilderness of this garden..nothing to stop the creative energy giving over to such a wonderful place shared with Grandma..🌱🌸🌱
I totally loved this! I love how Arthur brings Granny fish and chips, the link to his ancestors and how he sees nature linked in with that, preceededing us and a legacy of what we leave behind. Beautiful
I am completely with you on the planes and bees and insects with native plants. I’m in Florida and am doing my best to support native species and wildlife, but like you, one person is not enough. We need neighborhoods to join the movement. We could make a d together! 🌱
I hate it when people chop down trees that have taken 20 to 40 years to grow. They are the backbone of so much wildlife, shelter , shade and multiple advantages to all around. Gardening is so rewarding and therapeutic.
That was bloody lovely!
I fell in love.. He is so pure, so simple.
Arthur is an amazing human being for taking care of his Nan and Sheila. He is also very interested in plants and keeping insects alive that are helpful to our eating in terms of pollinating the crops.
Arthur is a really big inspiration and motivation for me. His passion helped me exam what exactly my passion is.
2:07 - "It's like a classroom of children; They're all at different abilities and different stages of their growth. They nurture me through wanting that nurturing. It's good to have a lot of things that need you to get up for, and they don't answer back..." 😊
Great work Arthur. Spread the message.
Arthur Parkinson is an inspiration to all of us. This world need more people like Arthur. He is an inspiration for the next generation, BUT he is an ispiration for THIS generation. Thank you Arthur for being you, xx
This was incredible! A young man with his head on straight in his priorities in order. Grandma gardening and chickens. What he said was so true and so important about the earth and the survival of our planet. If we all participate and do a little part the collective result will be amazing.
Beautifully filmed. Hopeful and encouraging
Arthur Parkinson-Absolutely the best! A truly amazing person!
I love his gardens and he's right what he says about needing more gardens for nature, especially bees! He's a great guy. If things don't work out with your current partner, I'm here Arthur! 😂
Get in line, Paul!!
I love anything Arthur does. His a refreshing inspiration! ❤
Listing to your speak made me feel emotional. I was literally just thinking about gardening, keeping a beehive and chickens to share with my toddler.
Gardening really is the best medicine for the soul.
I am sure I saw a recent clip on CZcams featuring Arthur in his own garden which was outstanding ( might have been on Gardener's World?)
You guys really missed out in an opportunity to say; a blooming star! there still time though
Wow! A new piece in the series! Finally! Love it! Please come back with more great gardens!
A lovely little film. Brings back sweet memories of my mother where a treat was fish & chips from the local chippy & we talk about the garden!
Arthur is an everyday hero! Keep on rolling!
Lovely film, it is pleasing to see the young learn the lessons that it took my generation far too long to realize "we were put here to garden" :)
This is so genuinely beautiful, touching and inspiring. You are wonderful.
That was such a lovely insight to your world, and what should be important in all our lives 🌸🌺🐝🦋 🥰
Absolutely love Arthur, this is such a gorgeous video.

Beautifully shot and edited. He and Huw Richards - gardening’s young Brit leaders. But I still love Charles Dowding the best.

You are so special Arthur and it’s a joy to watch your programme
Wonderful video. Thank you for this beautiful garden.
I love grandma’s smile 😍
love it profoundly
I love gardening and spend most of the time caring and planting plants and flowers..❤️ from India...
"We need to teach love for nature, because if you love something you'll nurture it." This is so important.
I see so clearly
what makes things beautiful
what makes things fair
but if people are blind to beauty
you cannot make them care.
Simply brilliant!
Absolutely mesmerising!
Truly inspiring. I am extremely happy for having watched this. Thanks for posting.
Wonderful and beautiful !!!! My garden is a little like yours where I plant all sorts of things and just let them get on with it as they want !!!!!! Love colours and watching the bees and the garden grow !!
To watch that was beautiful. Gentle honest and inspiring. And at a pace that I want to travel at. The world can be exhausting.
Totally ❤
Beautifully shot!
Thank you for producing this video, Arthur put so many of my own thoughts into words so eloquently. I loved hearing about how gardening brought him close to his granny
I enjoyed watching, Arthur. I look forward to seeing more😊👏👏👏
Keep going, I grew up in 50s and we run wild all the time so I love nature and gardening. ☺️🤪
What a beautiful and precious soul! Can’t help but admire him!
Agree with the other comments, what a lovely young man you are, and not shy of sharing the time and love for your Grandma. Your parents should be so proud of you. Can see you doing so well for yourself. Well done on your achievement of the lovely wild flower areas. 👍😊💐
Just so wonderful thank you xxx
So true & hopefully you can redesign ugly suburbs to be natural animal highways. Inspiring!

This is deeply poetic
I Love how you highlighted a person that does the exact same thing as most young gardener's do throughout the world, super special mates lol.

Enjoyed the editing on this video. tHanks for posting it. The edit brings you into the garden...you can almost smell the air.
Beautiful chicken feather pattern especially @ 0:49. Hidden in the coop, only able to catch some glimpse.
You are so refreshing, l have worked with my children all my life to help them see reality the beautiful materials we have been given to work with by our amazing creator.

I believe just like you. People enjoy gardens even if they don’t garden themselves.

Arthur I am totally with you. I too love chickens, flowers and bees. They have magically improved my life. I am a retired teacher and can appreciate your views on children too.
