Seeing the fluid cavitation inside the A-10's ball compass caused by the firing of the cannon was amazing. Talk about rattling your eye teeth! How does the pilot even see while his eyeballs are being rattled like that! The whole world must be a total blur for them. Wow!
It's a similar effect on the fligth deck when a jet is about to take off with afterburner.
What's that mean ?
At the 3:47 mark it call the aircraft the A-10 Lightning II (Warthog). It the A-10 Thunderbolt II (Warthog) Thunderbolt after the Great WWII Republic P-47 Thunderbolt

I have noticed that a lot of the pilots pick the A-10 as their preferred choice of plane when they are coming out of flight school. They picked it over newer more advanced aircraft. Yet the Air Force brass in the Pentagon have been trying to get rid of this plane since its first launch because of its mission. They don’t want the job of close air support for the guys on the ground. But they don’t want to give up the money to the Army and let the Army do it themselves.

The gun is not angled to the side because of the recoil. The gun is off set to the side so the barrel firing is always in the center line of the aircraft.

Whoa 6:46 the liquid in the old school magnetic compass was shaking into bubbles when the gun was fired??!! Crazy engineering must be in place to avoid premature airframe metal fatigue.

hey usa make a smaller 35mm single barrel, quad or tri barrel lighter vesions of the gau-8. we are giong to need these new versions of them that is ment for bascly of both auto cannon and gattling cannons verson of this for smaller aircraft and veacels. how it works bascly it just trades all of that exrta fire rate RPM in exchange for much smaller size, weght and better long range accritsy. this is so we can have some of that gau-8 high cabler firepower but its just fire at a bit slower fire rate but its also a bit smaller and more acrute for them smaler vecales. like we do need some better way of dealing with drones and very long range fire and foget self gided jont strike range missle sistems that can be mounted on much smaler vecales and aircraft. we are giong to need it when more armored gps jaming harden uavs drone swarms that are now allready being abavle this year to the enemys of nato. this is giong to be needed to cheaply and effectly conuter of all of those as well.

I was station in fort bliss tx and when we went to the field in the desert . This a 10 would low fly and rock their wings over our convoys i was young and naive just thinking of the job ahead to set up camp to gunnery fire ada artillery missiles at a range near white sands missile range . And would think that they would fry us if we where the enemy in a war . You dont see or hear them until they are on top of you . And nite other war plane shacking us with their after burners . Love it becouse i knew they where ours protecting us out there .

i 've seen the warthog new version and just as cool. but the video has errors in it. the gun when fired does slow down the plane not noticeable but force of the gun is higher than the thrust of the engines
15:04 huh!? so thats why the usa A1M2 abrams don't need even need a auto loader. the usa have streamlined the A1M2 tanks ammo rank stroage and and tank crew loader prosion of the tank so good that the loader crew member in the tank crew IS the auto loader themselfs! but still just a simmple autoloader upgrade that can have the tank have like four rounds fully loaded up back to back for the main gun useing simple gasblow back relaoding pressure mechsuim for even faster fire rate can help for the A1M3 and later versions of the abram tank sooner or later. its a very simple upgrade and no it wont need power for that its just a simple gas blowback gun relaoding mehcsiuim with a simple roatry ammo chamber simlear to a 44. maguim. but its for the M256-ALU 120mm main gun. the alu means autolaoded upgrade bascly. we have the techlongy lets just improve the fire rate of the next version of the abrams with a very smple but very good atuolader upgrade that bascy is reoalded like a 120mm calber magnuim gun but its a 120mm abriam tank gun witha autolader thats just bascly a 120mm maguim ammo ronud chamber and fireing mechisuim connected to it.
