The name of the song and its meaning is just... genius! Of course everyone knows about Eve, the woman who ate the "Forbidden Fruit", committing the first act of disobedience against God. Then we have Psyche (one of my favorite stories from greek mythology), the woman who couldn't resist the temptation to see her lover (Eros). And Bluebeard's Wife received keys to his house, and was asked to not open the underground chamber, and out of curiosity, she actually opened it.
3 stories based on women, their curiosity and the fact that they did "something forbidden", that was against what was expected from them. In the song, they are literally saying "I make my own rules" and that they wish for what's forbidden because they just wish to be themselves and not be blamed by being exactly who they are, and doing exactly what they want.
We all know that the "fatal effects of female curiosity" have long been the subject of stories and they are literally using this to say "We do whatever we want, We are not dolls that follow your rules".
This song is driving me insane for real😂 its like crack for my ears. Choreo goes hard af.
"I'm a mess" part was in Antifragile trailer, and in MMA end-of-year performance!
Fun fact: Many fans were guessing how "I ≠ DOLL" is to be read, and "I am not a doll" seems to be the most natural of the guesses; but Yunjin said the song's name on SAKURAの木の下で (Sakura's Japanese podcast, from 230222, at 11:34), and pronounced it as just "Idol". :D As she was introducing her song, she said ホユンジンの「アイドル」です Huh Yunjin's "Idol". I only remember hearing it that one time though, so I don't know if it was because she was speaking Japanese and making it simpler for herself, or because she normally refers to it that way.
Again you prove why you are one of my favourite reactors: I haven't seen anyone else already be aware of who Bluebeard's wife was.
They said that this was their hardest choreo, mostly for getting in sync. They absolutely nailed it.
An insight into the breaking the chain: the Korean version of the Red Light Green Light game there is an extra rule (though notably missing from Squid Game) where the tagger makes a chain with the captured players by linking pinkies; the uncaught players can free the captives by breaking the chain in exactly the way Sakura is doing (freeing Chaewon, Kazuha and Yunjin from Manchae). There is also the symbolism of "pinky promise". Accordingly, Sakura explains in the shooting sketch that there are two meanings to the scene: "breaking taboo" and "let's go together". For Psyche, she was the wife of Eros, she was a mortal, and Eros forbid her from ever looking at his face, but she went against his will, discovering his face. (thus curiosity again but also going against a man's will mostly)
and SAKURA as the most impressive evolution than i see with an idol . from SKT48 to produce 48 to LESSERAFIM after 12 years of career Ihave so much respect for her . she the most determinated and hard worker idol i know . some people think than she's still not a very good singer but to me she got a very unique voice and she's a great dancer and an amazing idole a role model for many japanese and korean girls .

This particular song, although super cool sounding,has lyrics that have helped me process where I truly stand in a current abusive partnership that I’ve discovered myself in. like impurities the choreo and performance make the song better. After watching the MV's the songs just hit differently. They have told their story in all of their songs, the strength and intensity of how the message was delivered in this song is notable.
this song is the best of the album she could be they're title track . but it's a great song also because they're choréo is super cool that became very viral and trendy in korea these days. to me they're a serious competitor to be nominated for the best Girl groups dance performance this year last Year IVE win with LOVE DIVE this year that could be Lesserafim i also learn the choreo in 5 days .
There was a reference for all three stories. Eve was the apple, psyche was the painting with eros covering his face, and bluebeard's wife was the door opening on the last chorus. I think this song title was interesting as telling the song title through story instead of singing the song title in the chorus.
