Thank you so much for the video now I know what all the buttons mean :) p.s Mick I commend your patience with the repetitive questions (how to change to english....), when a simple scroll through comments would give them the answer. lol
Hi Karen...depending on the phone model and navi in your car will may not be able to sync. Best to take your car and phone into your nearest Honda and ask the to check there on the spot. If you need translation help with Japanese you can call me direct...check out the Mick Lay site for contact details. Thanks, Mick.
I have taken a picture showing version and stuff i hope this can be help. Hey and keep up the good work catering for those who cannot understand the Japanese language!! I will inbox you links to the images
Hey Mick, this is an awesome video, i live in Jamaica and i dont even know how to set the clock and how to setup my cellphone onto the car. Can you please tell me how to do these and is there a way to change the menu to English?
Hi Mick, i found this video is helpful, but do you know how to use Honda Airwave 2005 internavi in japanese? Because it is different with Odyssey. Thanks
any way you can explain how to use the brightness button ? i just imported a rb2 2004 and the screen is blank but i can hear radio and it registering im pushing buttons , im just wondering if my screen brightness is so low i cant see it, and how id turn it up
hi, I am in NZ . THE GPS wont work here, how do I turn it off permanent , so the auto voice wont talk etc and so I can just use audio with no interference from GPS . I appreciate any help. cheers Dave.
@@MickLay hi, yes I did. I slid dash top off over the audio unit and covered the top of the unit with about 8 layers of tin foil so that the satellite signal wouldn't keep defaulting the clock. I found the tip on youtube and it worked fine. thanks for your reply and best wishes, NZ
Hi - did you ask the dealer you bought it from for clarification before you bought it? If so they should have told you that it is not possible to change into English plus the navigation itself will not work in NZ (as far as I know - if you find out different to what I know please do tell me). P.S. I can buy Odysseys in Japan and supplying direct from Japan to NZ. www.MickLay.com Direct tel: +81-90-3805-7141 Regards, Mick.
Hi there, I'm from NZ, I bought a Odyssey 2004 RB1, imported from Japan, but the whole display unit is not working, It seems like the display Hard drive is faulty, and its hard to get in NZ, any advise will be appreciated .. Im happy to import, if its possible. 39540-SFE-N213-M1 is the hard drive model number
+Don Bosco Sebastian Ask the dealer you bought it from - or if you did not buy it from a dealer find your local dealer that does import those cars - they will first take a look at the car to see if there is something they can sort/fix there and then. If not they should have connections to find out more for you.
Hi just bought the Odyssey today had a very quick play well at least I know what the writing on the buttons mean now I now have to figure out how to get out of the GPS system screen to get back to the DVD,Radio screen any clues anyone must be something to do with the return button I hope so then I can play NTSC DVD's that I will convert on the computer
I recently bought this car from Japan. Unfortunately the screen just went blank. Screen does light up upon startup but nothing loads. No music from harddrive, no fm, nothing. Not even the clock works. When this problem first started, there was ""system boot" and bunch of Japanese words" notification some sort, then it loads, then after that system works fine for 5-10 minutes, then it goes blank again (music just stopped playing). Now, nothing loads. Screen is always blank. What seems to be the problem? Is there a way to change the built in screen, or the whole dvd system with double din after market reciever? (just don't need it since everything is in japan)
Zahid Hamid Sounds like a problem that Honda in Japan could fix. Not sure if a Honda dealer near you can. Ask them and see what they say. If you have no Honda dealer close by then I do not think there is much you can do.
Mick Lay Motors Japan Thank you. I searched online it seems a common problem with odyssey. As far as know the screen isn't fixable in NZ (at least i have been unsuccessful in finding someone who could fix it). i tried ebay and aliexpress couldn't find an aftermarket dvd navidation system that would fit in this model. my only option/hope is to find a second screen which is also very difficult in small market like NZ. is there a honda spare parts store in japan that would have either brand new or second hand navigation system? or do you know of any aftermarket model that would fit in this dashboard. thanks
Zahid Hamid Nope. The problem still persists. All autoshops where I live are not able to fix it. No honda dealers where I live. So I guess I am stuck with it.
could you please do a time setting translation? i can only read hiragana and katakana but most of the writings are in kanji so much would be appreciated for the guide, thanks.
***** I just bought a Japan import RB3 Honda Odyssey with Sat nav / hdd. Could you do a video up to show how to operate the stereo? And the radio station only goes up until 85.9 mhz for some reason.

***** hey, just wondering, if it is easier, do you know the kanji characters for the time setting or something because I've found the setting for the date and usually the change of time goes after it. what i've found after the dates is an input like this (kanji charac.)_____(kanji charac.)____(kanji charac.)____(kanji charac.)_____.If it possible to explain it by words then I hope that just lessens the trouble of finding another honda odyssey.
Mick lay , can you show how to set the clock (time) can you email to me . i having problem my odyssey in japan language ( i use this model same as in your video).

Dave Chapman did you ever sort out turning the voice off?
Sorry I missed your question - the navigation is set up for Japan only. Did you find a way to turn it off?

It`s a common problem with Japanese imports - the systems are not made for overseas to start with so you are not missing out on much.
