  • Etihad Airways has announced it'll begin flying its flagship Airbus A380 to Mumbai in India to celebrate 20 years of flying to the country. Meanwhile, airBaltic is adding even more Airbus A220s to its fleet as it continues to grow by announcing it'd exercise options for 10 jets. I had the privilege of my first 380 experience with Etihad in 2019 one of the best flight experiences I've ever had..I loved the little comforts in economy like foot rests .and it was the quietest airliner in my opinion..I selected row 83 seat K as I wanted the "back of the bus " experience 😊

Makes perfect sense. India is a huge market, and quite busy from Sept. until Jan.

Lufthansa Group companies Eurowings & Swiss are currently using some Air Baltic A220's on their services

Good for Air Baltic. I experienced their 737-500 and Fokker F50. What a magnificent workhorses these were! And onboard service was very good as well!
I'm sure that with a220 orders they secured their "biggest airline in the region" place

I’ve just been from Heathrow to Thailand Etihad on A380’s, Dreamliners and 777’s. I also fly Etihad a lot, from the UK to the Philippines and I’m lucky enough to fly business and it’s great airline and certainly worth a look if you’re travelling on a route they service.

It appears the a380 makes sense between some cities and countries. I read somewhere on some routes they were actually make money on them , Why just fly them on those routes? But them again if they take away from your overall operational costs, I guess it makes sense to part with them. Maybe an all A380 airline between let's LAX and Dubai would work.

in around 2005, I was in Mumbai when an inbound flight ended up with the nose wheel off the end of the runway. It was for a couple of days, and I remember local media reports that they'd even tried using elephants to pull it back to clear the runway. Our Qantas flight to Sydney had to divert to Perth for a fuel stop, because the shorter available runway didn't allow them to load enough fuel to get back to Sydney. Anyway, unless the facilities have improved (I have heard there is a new terminal), good luck if an A380 has an excursion off the runway.

Seems if Boeing has the factory floor space, they would pursue a 757x. They have totally forfeited the mid-market and small market with Airbus snatching them with the A321 and A220. Boeing and Embraer proposed a business alliance or merger which fizzled. The -7Max and -10Max should be certified as airworthy and I'm curious why the delay?
