  • Today ‪@TheBeardedExplorer‬ and I take a trip in to the soggy countryside to uncover a beautiful collection of unloved cars. Full of Citroens, Rileys from the 90s all the way back to the pre-war period.

    Hi James & Colin.
    That was a cool video.
I loved seeing all those Citroen XMs & XM brake estate wagons, they was cool. I need to buy those whenever I win the lottery if I do.
    Stay safe and take care.

Red xm exclusive you sat in will be a 2.5td .. they came as manual only as the engine was so big there was no room for an autobox or a fwd autobox to take the engines power.. the half leather and suede was offered instead of leather but the suede likes to wear and rip.

Red XM Exclusive: Or a V6! Please check if it was a V6. Then it would be no a shame at all.
It doesn’t have the wood panel on the glovebox, which means it is post 1997. It’s because of the airbag, for some reason Citroen decided it was not funny to get the wood panel smashed into your face.
And that in turn means if it is a V6, it would be the new ES9 unit, very good as a daily driver even today, good in fuel economy. And as a manual it is clearly faster than the auto. I actually got such an XM Exclusive V6 as my daily. Thing is, of this V6 manual only 1102 were made World wide. God knows how few there are as RHD. Mine shows it is # 0815 out of 1102 ever made. In Germany 08/15 is a synonymon for “dead common” - that is exactly my humour.
But what’s more, it is not only a perfect daily, in the past 5 years since I got her, she more doubled in value! If this is a V6 manual, please go and rescue her, she will pay it off massively!

@@Mr80sliveon Thank you, that is news to me. Maybe the V6 manual was never done in RHD? In Germany and France we still had the wood in the S2 (Y4) until the airbag came.

In mk.1 cars to early 1994 you can get V6 manual.. I have one.. but all the UK V6 with the newer 24v es engines were auto only in UK..

    Hi James & Colin.
That car @1:40 it's an Citroën Traction Avant; @7:40 looks like an Austin A40 Somerset; @8:09 I think that, based on the details of the only car that has a complete front (the one you mentioned, the art deco style), the rims, the suicide-style front doors and the rear, I would say that all of them (the 3) are an Austin 16 HP from 1945.

It looks like a Riley actually , the Avant never had a vinyl roof .

Fitted with anti sink like xantias from 1996 onwards .. which two valves were added to stop the car dropping once engine is off..
