The fact that a Panamera with less than 350hp and an interior that can be beat for much less money costs $160k without that many options is honestly disturbing. Not sure how anyone can justify paying that when something like an RS7 costs $20k less.
Porsche has gotten obnoxious with their pricing all around. A 911 4S is now a $300k car (with the same options as a Camry) and they'll make you pay $500k for a BASE Gt3RS (no carbon, plastic bodykit, underwhelming interior). For the same price as a 911 4S, you can buy a Huracan or Roma. That's a car that gets comprehensively beat by a M4 that's half the price in performance and interior. For the same price as a GT3RS you can get an Aventador S, 812 Superfast, or even a full 3 car garage (S class, Huracan, Macan)
The pricing you mention is if you don’t want to wait, the MSRP’s are significantly less, but it may take a year or two, or a history of multiple purchases to only pay MSRP. The good news is, when demand is strong, the repeat Porsche buyers take delivery on cars that come with equity - not many brands can do that for their customers.

Like how this car starts at over 150k msrp but you still gotta pay almost another 50k for the same features as something like an RS7 that’s nicer, twice the power, and more features. For perspective the Porsche 911 is the single most profitable car (per unit) of all mass produced cars not counting markups, and Porsche makes more profit per unit on every car than any other mass production brand ever. This is the brand, not the dealerships. It’s also adjusted to be as a percentage so it accounts for different levels of vehicles. Porsche dealers also make the most money because they have the highest markups of any dealers. Not gonna get into that but it’s just getting rly out of hand. Porsche used to be the bridge between sports car and super car, but now they charge high end supercar prices for the same product

This spec of Panamera is actually a little underwhelming given the price. High wind/road noise, a highly detuned motor and rather plain looking. The exhaust sounds amazing though.

This Panamera is not worth the price. The interior ambient sound is too lound and piano gloss black screens and gauge cluster are not really worth the $120k.

I have the Turbo S E Hybrid. No regrets.
Mine may not have the prestige of the Porsche, but I got the RS6 Performance and love it. Plus, I think the RS6 has more present and head turn vs the Porsche Panamera.

Nice watch Jacob! Love those two-tones!! The new Panamera is nice, however, I do prefer the prev gen just because of the analog dials and pretty much everything else honestly lol - just not liking the "copy the Taycan design" at all...
With that kind of money, before doing the purchase i would prefer to test it on the road and on the circuit to see which one it "fits me like a glove" ... personal preference :)

I don't think you can get the non-hybrid V8 turbo anymore. You have to get the hybrid (Turbo S) they changed the turbos around so you get better gas mileage but lower HP, because the hybrid more than makes up the difference.

I see used plaids on auto list selling in the 60s and sitting for 120+ days. No one cares or wants one. Meanwhile bmw m3 and m4s are in the 80s and are hard to find good specs. Go cry in a corner buddy. Ain't no one checking ur car out on the road. U might have to make it some vibrant LGBTQ color if u want to do that like most tesla owners that are begging for some type of head turns.

Steering gives no feedback feels robotic. Low grade materials. Panel gaps. Depreciation. One trick poney. But yea ur right, not many bad reviews bahahahaha

There’s a new gear shift knob? 🤔
The current generation non-911 and non-718 cars have a toggle to the right of the steering wheel, along with a manual mode selector. Park is via a button, and RND are via a three position lever. That lever functions the same way as the "braun shaver" in the 992 generation 911s, but instead of using real estate on the centre console, it's mounted to the right of the wheel (where in modern day, many cars have the power on/off button). Use it a few times, recognizing that there are paddles for when you want to use them, and it leaves one thinking - 'why didn't they do this sooner?'

@@twfinc6855 It does sound crazy, but I actually did. First time I let my ego badge go. I did own a Boxer S; I know it's nothing special, but a Porsche owner and previous other German cars. I know what is meant by maintenance and cost with German cars. I had a choice between a used Panorama or a new Stinger for a daily driver. Choice the Stinger to be different and didn't regret it. It's weird to get attention and complaints on a KIA!? It’s not a perfect car but bangs for the bucks. Albert Biermann, the former head of BMW M, is the engineer behind the Kia Stinger did good job.

I think this is the year that Taycan is actually better value than a Panamera😂 with 150k you can get a taycan 4s with 500+hp and decent range, with lower operation cost. I think ev tech develop enough nowadays to make premium ev actually make sense.

The driven cannot see the content on the passengers personal screen but they still can see the nasty, greasy finger prints the passenger put on the screen. That just doesn't seem fair. And isn't that kind of a distraction too? For OCD drivers that might be the ultimate distraction.

In my mind (based purely on gut, and perception), Porsche has the best engineering in the world (Mercedes right up there). That perception is being challenged a bit - I'm surprised that the transmission on this car is unsmooth, amongst some of the other fundamentals that seem to be not where they should be. And not very quiet? For a car that is quite expensive, this doesn't seem like it's quite hitting the mark.

No car is worth $150k unless you’re a high-end collector … I have owned two panameras (2015, 2018), and they are excellent cars for long-distance driving but they are worth no more than $40k-60k USD, realistically - even when new
