Lucas is always bringing up how he doesn't want to hurt either of the girls, Riley or Maya. I think he's intentionally pushing that more towards Riley because he knows that if he doesn't choose her she'll be absolutely heartbroken. We all know that she's that type of character. Maya, on the other hand is used to being let down and if she's rejected by Lucas, she won't be as disappointed as Riley. Lucas is the most caring person and I think that he's letting Riley believe whatever she wants to because he won't know what to do with himself if he breaks her heart. If he breaks her, he breaks the whole group of friends apart. He knows that Maya will be broken, but she has so much fire in her that she will move on, but she won't be the one whose heart is broken. #teamLucaya ~P.S. no, I'm not personally swayed one way or the other because my name is Maya as well--maybe a little.

4:03 is true, I've noticed this. It reminds me of Justin Bieber' s "Love Yourself", that one verse where he goes *"Every time you told me my opinions were wrong, you tried to make me forget where I came from"*. Now mind you, there's a lot of drama concerning the so-called "love triangle" on GMW rn but especially it seems to be in season 3 that's coming soon. But if I were going to ship Lucas with anyone still? Hands down, it'd be Maya. It always was. He encourages her when she's getting down on herself, but his way of doing it is much more different than Riley's, much like that of someone who like likes and admires the person they're talking with; and she accepts him completely while also providing her insight on when a situation may be too dangerous to follow through with (the bull incident) mind you she shouldn't have walked away but that's her way of dealing with things like her feelings and I think if Lucas and her wind up together, just maybe, it might be good for the both of them. Not hating on anyone's *ship* just stating my opinion and own point·Of·view on the relationship between the characters in the show thus far.

Learn the difference between pretending and an identity crisis and Anyone who thinks both of those things needs to rewatch the show. In texas, the time during the campfire and crap, Maya was being herself, not like Maya. That's why that "pouring smoothie" thing was mentioned in SL2. It's not Riley-Like.

This is an amazing video because it is not just FULLY sighted on Lucaya but also Rucas. It shows that you are not just saying this because you ship Lucaya and hate Rucas but that you still understand it may just be a coincidence or a parallel. I love Lucaya and I think this video has gave me so much more of a HUGE understanding of Lucaya and not just that I like their ship. Great Amazing Job.

Personally I like Riley and Lucas more. In GM Ski lodge pt. 2 Josh and Maya are talking and Josh points out that she only liked Lucas because Riley did and she was just trying to protect her. And when she was talking to Lucas in that same episode she said "there's only one person that makes your little cowboy heart go clippity clop............and it's me" and all Lucas says is "uhhhhhhh" because he cares about Maya and doesn't want to hurt her but who he chose was Riley because they're so similar and he likes her more

So I've come up with 2 theories of my own, I'm not really sure how plausible they are... But I just thought I'd get it out there.
At 6:22 behind Riley and Lucas, there's a sign that says "For a brighter future" that's almost precisely the moment he ends his date with Riley. I personally think that this is a sign that he's ending things with Riley "for a better future". Now i could be wrong, but I think the fact he ended the date for Maya, makes the theory even stronger.
Now another thing I've considered, is completely different. It still has to do with 6:22 and the whole "for a brighter future" thing. If you watch closely, Lucas says, "Go over there Riley, be with your best friend." (note the fact that the sign is still visible during that entire thing) And with that, Lucas is alone, with neither of the girls. So what if, what this really means, is Lucas is alone, for a brighter future. What I'm trying to say is, that Lucas ends their date for Maya and Riley's friendship. Lucas is with neither Riley, or Maya, "For a brighter future". So it's possible, that at the end of this whole Love triangle thing going on, Riley and Maya's friendship will strengthen, leaving Lucas... Single.. If that makes any sense what so ever....

That's exactly what I was thinking.
I was a bit sceptical about that whole Nickname Theory at 9:03 until I realized that Riley was actually called Dorothy in one of the episodes (I can't remember the name, maybe the one where GM Maya? The one where Maya is about to break the statue in the park, until some of her old friends comes, and they adress Riley as Dorothy to mock her).
The writers aren't idiots, and I know this is a bit far fetched, but I think Riley officially being called Dorothy kinda leans towards a confirmation.

Also, some foreshadowing, have you noticed how both Riley and Farkle gave their opinion on how they thought it was a date, and Maya said she didn't think of his as a date for her, but Lucas never give his opinion? Did he think of his date with Riley as a date, or more hanging out? Was he giving Riley about (Imma guess) 90% because he knows Riley thinks it is a date? These are the questions we should be asking!!!

Personally , I think that something will happen between Maya and Lucas but it won't go to far. Things already happened at the "campfire" Lucas COULD'VE kissed Maya but .. didn't, why? Because as much as Lucas cares for Maya he also cares for Riley! and they will always have a thing. Farkle baits this out on the New Years Ep , when he says "Riley still LOVES Lucas" and at the end who is sitting closer to who? Riley and Lucas , there is a small gap between Maya and Lucas the thing to remember is that Riley is really innocent i think that will change in the upcoming season , because is you have seen the first Ep of season 3 A LOT has changed the opening title and Riley is beginning to change. But what you also have to remember is that they both pushed there feelings away for their friendship (Riley and Maya) and this show is kinda mainly based on Riley.

9:05 I think that theory had the most impact to me. Because i've watched an episode where Maya was confused about what kind of things she liked. She runs away and in the night she's planning on doing something bad. She sees some of her old friends and they say that she's a softie. And thats all because of Riley. They call her dorothy. Which makes this theory very true. Maya said, that Riley wasn't a dorothy, so they say that she needs to prove it. But maya doesn't want to. They end up saying: Or are you the dorothy? And this is maybe a clue of the lovers triangle. (Sorry for my bad English, i didn't know how to tell this in a right way)

Im watching this because I wanted to under stand the hype behind Lucaya but to me they have more of a brother and sister relationship. I have a theory. In newer episodes, Maya starts acting more as Riley. What if its because she suspects Lucas will choose Riley and she think acting more like Riley will make him change his mind or influence him to pick her.

I an interview thing Rowan and Sabrina said the directors give them a gigantic clothing Line in the beginning and they get to pick whatever clothes so I think that disproves the clothing thing

Not Peyton. Rowan and Sabrina's (and even Farkle's) outfit choices have been mentioned in the series because of some sort of change with their characters, Lucas' never was, not that does not necessarily mean his clothing has no character.

It's unlikely for the cast members to have the entire control over what they where in the series. It's just not how it works when it comes to television. They have professionals who make the outfits give them it for certain episodes. They may have a little choice of choosing, but overall, what they wear is not their responsibility.

i still have hope for lucaya because in boy meets world the same thing happened between topanga and cory in the ski lodge episode where they talked and cory left and they hugged, just like lucas and maya when maya let him go and they hugged.
