Just wanted to thank you for putting the section breakdown in video progress bar. Made it super easy to jump to where I needed.
You're welcome!
this is a great review! i honestly really loved it. i just got my keychron k2 in december 2020, it’s been a few months now and overall i think this is my best keyboard so far! thanks for making this video! really helped :D
i love that you have sections i can skip through, love you guys
Thanks so much, appreciate you
Last Thursday, I got my K2 V2 Aluminum Gateron Blue and I’m loving it!
Thanks so much for helping me make my purchase decision. All the best!
Great to hear!
I thought based on your K6 review before that the RGB and keycaps will be the biggest concern but now I feel relieved and better that I chose to really wait for K6 rather than buying K8 now. You're so awesome and was a huge help for my research on what Keychron MKB to buy, more poweeeer!
Thanks for the support
Amazing video . Your video avoided me buying the k8 . Will wait until k2 is in stock . Thank you very much .
K6 is 65%, K8 is 80%... K2 is 75% - one of these naming conventions is not like the other. :p
I don't get how people name products tbh 😂
non-existent K7: i hate yall

What does percent mean
Hi Jake and Betty, at "Switch and Click". I want to thank you for your many videos about the mechanical engineering and fundamentals of specialized keyboards. I'm a systems engineer and I purchased my first mechanical keyboard, which was a Logitech G413 last year. Love it and it has helped my own work flow, as well as helped me to take seriously how good mechanical keyboards can, I feel, also significantly assist the workflow and creativity of all people at home and at work.
I'm not convinced that TKL's are best yet as I have a lot of business clients who'd require a full sized keyboard.
But TKL's are good for 'family use' computers perhaps?
Thanks again to you both at Switch and Click for your interesting and thorough reviews as well as essential testing.
I think high quality keyboards for work may be a growth area, just as good monitors was a growth area, years ago, in order to address eye issues. We see how better IPS panels have benefited everyone's eyes in recent years. Perhaps soon, it will be recognized that having ergonomic, safe, personalized, fun, and 'physiologically reliable' mechanical keyboards for everyone can help our hands and fingers stay healthy, during both serious work times and recreation times.
There are full mechanical keyboards, you do know that right?
@Lucas D0414 Yeah I agree; I have a full-sized Durgod Taurus for work and a more compact TKL for home. The only issue with the macro pads you speak of is an extra connection via usb. I'd rather have one connection for the keyboard. But then again, if someone really needs the number pad, just go for a full sized keeb.
I got the Keychron K2, and I'm LOVING IT! I might get the K8 as well...
Great comparison video. I have a K8 RGB with black Ducky pudding keycaps and really love it. I also have a K6 with white backlight and mixed keycaps--side-printed dark gray PBT for the most used keys and I left the top row and right hand keys standard. I may have to take a look at the K2 V2 someday but I have enough KBs for now. Editing tip: You may want to cut up the B roll or shoot one item at a time so it lines up better with your vocal description. That is always a challenge when editing.
Just ordered a K6 Aluminium with Gateron Brown. Don't really care for RGB since I'll use it at work. Looks super clean, professional but unique enough for an office environment. Good video!
Qualitic and informational video. Deserves more attention!
I really enjoy these videos. The timing is perfect. I just subbed a few days ago and am hunting and pecking (as one might say) for my next keebz. :)
Thanks for the support
Great review! I have already had a K8 but I’m still watching xD
Thank you very much! You've pointed out lots of information. It's really helpful!
Watching this video really makes me appreciate the way you edit and how your sense of humor really shines in the newer videos. It's not the same without the quiet screaming! Lol
haha thank you!
You’re really underrated, good luck, I know you can get far!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for this video! Helped me make my decision to buy the K6.
My only problem now is my typing skill.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
I used to like the more compact keyboards, but I got sick of keycap struggles. There always seemed to be a keycap that wasn't the right profile or size. I now only go for standard TKL layouts. It's so much less stress and cheaper when I don't have to buy extra optional keycaps to complete a set.
Or you could use the stock keycaps. I mean you're not even looking at the keyboard when you're typing (or gaming).
You could just get complete keycap sets insted of dedicated layout sets. It will alse be future proof.
@@russp622 it wouldn’t match my setup, My main two colored are red a black with accent white
I never heard of these keyboards this was very informative. I'm using a azio retro keyboard
Used the k2v2 for months, still waiting for them to release the software so I can finally remap and swap the del and light key, can't count the number of times that I had accidentally pressed the light key when trying to delete text while typing.. Aside from that layout flaw, loving the kb.
The trouble with Keychron keyboards is there are 20 versions of every model they make, each with minor differences. I was interested in the K8 and went to their Amazon store where I found 21 different variants! It's exhausting trying to figure out haw they all vary.
@@NoizeTank Right. I mean, it's not indecipherable. I eventually sorted everything out (I ended up getting the K2 V2 with aluminum frame), but it felt an awful lot like work. It would have saved me a lot of time if they presented their products in a more organized fashion.
You should of just used their website... They have it all laid out, pretty easy to understand...
@@Luthiart that what I was planning on getting too but I’m still thinking about it
TBH it's mostly about offering ISO layouts, which is extremely important for people who aren't from US
The video quality is improving! Awesome!
Thanks
I'd like the K8 too but I hate how that floating keycaps bit looks but it seems more complete, I'm just torn between the K8 and K2
update: I got the K8 lol
@@mattY0UNG idk too much about mechanical keyboards to give an in depth review but I'd say it's doing well, got the reds and the typing experience is great, I also managed to adjust to the height after a bit but yeah overall I'm quite happy with it especially since I can still use those different functions above the arrow keys
I like the tone in your voice. It's very calm.

Yay, another S&C Video ! More and more professional. Thanx for making our keyboard choice easier, but no white version is a nogo for me :) There's a K3 coming ! Love from France.
Thanks for the support 👌
I think both the 65% and 75% (TKL) are good. Don't like giving up the cursor arrow keys on the 60%, but I can live with sharing the Fx keys with the number keys. However I would probably opt for the PRO versions, as they come with the PBT keys instead of the ABS ones (not to mention QMK firmware).
Just got the K2 hot swappable and together with my K6 hot swappable it's awesome, i can set one up with different keycaps switch combination and can alternate between the two
Wow! It's been a bit since I've watched any of your videos! You're quality has gone up quite a bit! Looks great!
Glad you think so!
Your comment’s just a bit too.
this is super helpful thank you!!
Damn I was thinking of getting the K6 but I only realized there's missing quite a lot of essential buttons for programming. Time to re-evaluate my choices.
just got the K6 with gateron reds in the mail today. Was (and still am) using a magicforce68 before that, and can say I'm really pleased on the build quality. Will probably go for o-rings and some foam (for now) and see how it holds up. I have a few typing errors coming from an apple magic keyboard but I guess that's just normal and I'll get used to the higher profile over time.
Yeah definitely, and linear switches will take some time to get used to
The Nav keys are not something I can sacrifice with pressing additional function keys as I do plenty of Excel. That should be something to consider, so you should not limit yourself to the K2 and K6 like she suggested. If you use these keys and used to the traditional layout, I suggest going to the K8. K2 and K6 requires a learning curve to get used to, and will only get difficult if you have to combine it with Excel keyboard shortcuts that also require the use of the nav keys.
Not sure though if you could reprogram the Home key to Delete for use on another PC, but that's something to consider on a work computer as you are not usually granted admin access and installing additional software is prohibited by company policy
Got the K8 as I'm a traditionalist coming from a 100% keyboard layout. I'm a bit disappointed that there's no scroll lock or pause break as this has been replaced with the light and voice command key, but at least I still got printscreen.
I originally was going to a C2 100% layout, but once the pandemic ends and we all go back to work, it would be difficult to fit the keyboard on a laptop bag, like the G512 Carbon that came before.
You’ve saved a lot of time for me. Thank you
Thanks for the great content!
Thank you so much for the comparison. I was going through analysis paralysis trying to decide on the right one for me but it seems that the K2 is going to be the winner. I considered the K4 but it may be time for me to give up on the numpad and save some desk space as well as giving my shoulder some better ergonomics when it comes to mouse usage. Excellent and detailed review! ❤️
Thank you!
On my second K4. The previous one met a heinous demise at the hands of a poorly-executed Jack & Coke manouvre. I took the opportunity to switch from red to brown switches, which gives depression abit of feedback. I am currently eyeing the C2 with the retro colour scheme. Being a kid from the 80's who grew up with weapons-grade 3-4 pound keyboards, it does pull at my heart strings. Just wish there was a wireless version.
keep these vidoes up, you should totally have more subs
For autocad work where the mouse is obligatory, im looking into getting the full size Keychron. With a 60% cannot do one touch activation of function keys with one hand on the mouse.
I have ordered all three of these with the K8 still on the way. I like them all but I found myself wanting a full-sized right shift key.
Excellent video - helped me make my final decision.. thanks !!
Great to hear!
I got the Keychron k1 V4 and I love it! I also ordered the Keychron K3 which Im super excited for!
Nice! I'm also waiting for the K3
@@SwitchandClickOfficial It's essentially the K2 but slim, and seeing how they have done a great job with the K1 v4, I imagine it's going to be the same quality. I'll be looking forward to your video on it as well.
Love your channel guys ☺️☺️☺️
Thanks!
Just ordered a UK iso k8, always thought the floating keys looked kind of cool! Might have to experiment with the aluminium bezel off though.
Hoping I like gateron browns but went for hot swap so I can change it out if I don't like them.
for me TKL is the best model, since you lose a lot of useless keys and keep only the most fundamental ones without sacrificing a lot. F keys are very needed as well as the DELETE well placed above the directional ones, just perfect.
For me too, but right now I'm using the K3E3 (75%) and I absolutely fell in love with the switches last night when I installed it. Do you know if there are TKL low profiles with the optical switches?
I have a K6 and a K8. Unfortunately, there seems to be a Bluetooth issue with the K8 if you're using it with an iPHONE. I find that the K6 works brilliantly via Bluetooth on my iPHONE. However, the K8 is a disaster when used in that mode. It pairs but slows and fails to register lettres. If I plug the K8 into my laptop via the USB cable, I have no such issues. I was very disappointed given the wonderful experience I had using the K6 with my iPHONE. I ended up gettinga Logitech MX Keys for use at my desk due to this problem. I do all my writing on my iPHONE and had high hopes for the K8, It proved very comfortable to type on and I loved the red switches but I can't abide uncertainly regarding keystroke registering.
id love to see your take on the Keychron K1 SE Wireless Mechanical Keyboard with the mint switchs, ive been leaning torwards getting it for a while

do you know if theres a way to get the regular keycaps instead of the white grey?
@@ohadvaknin8692 no I don't at first I didn't like the new color way but in person I love it!
That's awesome to hear
Big thanks fir the comparison
It’s a shame that the other two options for the K8 weren’t even mentioned. They also have non-backlit and non-backlit with aluminium plate and they come with different colour keycaps than the backlit K8
This is a very good thorough review, that made me decide I don't like any of these. Nice.

Haha I do have bad eyesight
Bought the K8 Pro few days ago, it died after 2 days of use the BT module is dead completely. Resetting the board multiple time and trying to get to work with multiple other PCs didn't work, it simply went off forever and got sent back. I'm now using my 2 years old MX keys and it's still kicking.
I want the K1 because its truely low profile. All the rest are comparable to other keyboards already in the market
Been looking at Keychron a lot this year. My first impression was that they seem like good quality. I find the website difficult to shop. For me, makes no sense to have a backlit keyboard unless the key characters are translucent, and I prefer white lit over RGB. I was originally very happy with my Logi , and MAGEGEE keyboards, but no more. The Logi started losing LEDs in less than a year, and the A key on the MAGEGEE starting skipping, and buffering after a few weeks. And I'm easy on my keyboards too. So now I'm using the opaque keys from the MAGEGEE on the Logi, and with the backlighting turned off. This is because the Logi keys are unreadable without being lit. I also prefer no less than a 96% layout, and that makes a nice a minimalist layout with the K4
the keychron is a really great product.
the K2 is the first keyboard I bought, and that was the best option since I was coming from using an Apple Magic Keyboard... so it was perfect for me, I didn't had to learn any remapping for keys.
Now I'm starting to explore other 60% keebs options and found that I really like the Anne Pro 2, because of its software.
I'd say that if Keychron would make their keyboards with software that can let the user to fully customize not only the lights, but also the key maps and building macros, that would be the perfect keyboard.
Hi there I love your videos cause they’re very specific! Would love to see a comparison of rgb white 75% keyboards with wireless connection cause I’m looking for one and it’s hard to find the perfect one :(
Are there any white ones other than race3?
I want to replace my trash razer keyboard. I was about to buy gmmk but i heard these are good too. Drop ctrl is too expensive so i guess I’ll go with this

Great vid! Can you use the multimedia keys for mac when using this on windows?
Lots of info in this video. I think I will stick with the Epomaker EP-84 that I got after watching one of your previous videos. It's been my daily driver 😂 ever since. Thanks....
That's a great board 😊
Got the K6, have had no problems, however, it is m first mech
Great video
the K6 was my very first 65% wireless keeb, indeed bought after I had seen the review here. Using it for 3 months at my job now and still happily clacking away... battery lasts about 4 weeks when turning rgb off which surprised me. The weird layout (del, end, home key) was strange at first, now I am used to it and it is not such a big deal anymore. Been too lazy to reprogram so far :D customization is great, I switched keycaps, switched switches, modded stabs and dampened the hell out of it and now it sounds and looks really good. regarding bezels and angle: I think it is good, bezels defintely add style and sturdiness (and weight) and would recommend for K6, maybe not for the others necessarily. same for the slightly angled design. the boards are big and you probably want a wrist rest. but it IS possible to use them without. Also depends if you generally hover over your board while typing or not. I observed that I do that alot with my fullsize board which also has a wrist rest, but I hardly use it that way.
Thanks for the input
so has the k6 hotswap?
@@ahtiparviainen9077yep, AFAIK all of these have hotswap!

KEYCHRON K2 :Just dropping by to contribute my review after seeing so many reviews on youtube and i finally got one.
I am a newbie in mech keyboards. So this is my first one after going through so many videos and finally deciding on this one. PERFECT.
I really like this keyboard, typing on it right now. It charges well, connects well and just wonderful to type on. I use it for programming and normal tasks,no gaming. So for people like me, it is perfect! Previously I was all out Logitech and I though they were the best, I know now. This is better!
But it is heavy. I got the aluminium base. So i dont think it is suitable to take outside.
Hi, could you please explain what do you mean aluminum base? K2 has plastic bases only with aluminum border only. Which can be taken off with 2 screws?
Good luck with your semi new channel!
It's like a year old now
2:55 USB C-port on the left, that's why an angle?
C port can be connected, either way, right?
So, does it really matter?
I've ordered the K2. Should arrive this week :0
Nice!
Got the K2. Great keyboard but I ordered the K1 to see if low profile is better for me.
Nice nice
Best explanation of anything I hope they paid you
love the set
Thanks dude
what's the difference between gateron mechanical and hot swappable keys ?
Nice vid! Just got the k8 because of my programming which I could really use the extra keys on the side for
what do you use it for?
Between k1 and k2 what you recommend to a person who has never used a mechanical keyboard? In my country k1 104 key and k2 aluminum frame keyboards cost the same. And k1 84 key and k2 non aluminum keyboard cost the same. Plz suggest me. I am going to order tomorrow
I'm really loving this new video format. It's more, professional.
Thanks!
Cool dust cover, can I get one for my battleship?
Basically, the K6 is an alternative to the NK65, the K2 is an alternative for the KBD75? I like the K8 though. Feels solid. What sucks for me is the keycaps, because it picks up oils like nobody's business.
Awesome video! Super helpful! On the website they say : *Compatible with almost all the MX style SMD-LED mechanical switches on the market (including Gateron, Cherry, Kailh, etc.)... could you assume that these would be able to swap them with other brands outside Gateron? Everywhere seems to recommend the Gateron for the keyboard, but it seems like this could be a possibility! Just wondering if anyone knew!
Thanks again! Awesome videos!!!
Yeah it should work with the majority of switches, they have 5-pin hotswap sockets. They're north-facing LEDs, so it could have some problem with thick cherry-profile keycaps, but other than that, feel free to swap in Zeal, NK, Holy Pandas, whatever. Just not optical switches
@@SwitchandClickOfficial Awesome thanks so much!!
As a programmer, I found the lack of Arrows and the ` key amazingly hard to live with when I did a tiny keyboard.
Hello I am new to the MK community .I am stuck on the decision between the K8 and K4 . Can someone tell me me the typing experience between these 2 versions. And comparison on the wrist height.- this would be my first custom keyboard set since I am new, I am taking baby steps with the hot swappable edition. Btw amazing review I think I watched the whole playlist on keyboards in one sitting.
would like to ask if there is a white color back light in the RGB version. dont know if that makes sense haha i prefer the white light when working while RGB colors when gaming. would like to have those options in one keyboard.
Thanks in advance!
I really wish they made the Keychron k6 keycaps in PBT. They're so cute but I hate the oil stains the ABS get. Makes me so annoyed.
im thinking of buying one of these, i dont really like the k8 and i cant decide between k2 and k6
Which option would you say it's a better choice? The K6, aluminum frame, RGB, Gatheron Brown and Hot Swappable, or the K2 same specs but not Hot Swappable.
Which one did you buy?
