  • A Go-Pod may be small but there's still a lot to look at. :)
    Hopefully events will return next year and I'll get a chance to try it out for the purpose I bought it but in the meantime I'm getting to know it and am getting quicker at setting it up. It's all about routine.
    I 'm not 100% sure about the Kampa CrossAir awning and am considering replacing it with a SheltaPod awning.

      When I'm using that shower I put hot water in the feeder bucket and it works well

    I really enjoyed watching your video, getting a go-pod was on my wife’s and my bucket list for retirement. Unfortunately I have been bereaved, I lost my wife very recently. Watching your video as made me more determined to get a go-pod and do some of the trips we talked about together. I have measured our garage, and storage is not an issue. Thevonly concern is the pop-up.
    I’m 5 foot 11. Do you think it’s suitable?

    • @talksandtales5824
      @talksandtales5824  Před 3 lety +2

      So sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you. So glad you are determinded to hang onto your dreams though. May you live life for two.
      As to your question, in the pop up section the headroom should be fine but you have to be careful from going to the pop-up to the rest of the pod. Even I, at 5'5", bang my head.
      However, many 6 footers enjoying having a Go-Pod.
      The advantage the Go-Pod has is it's really easy to tow, you don't need wing mirror extensions , you can take it pretty much anywhere and it's really cute.
      It's small but perfectly formed but I'd strongely advise getting inside one before you buy.
      There are other small caravans and trailer tents out there. I may be a comparison video about them.

      @@talksandtales5824 yes I definitely need to have a good look around before I buy. I’m thinking of 2022 in February or March there are often caravan show. I think I might go to one of those shows have a good look around. Then take advantage of a show deal. If one is on offer, they usually are.

    Hi, would you mind letting me know which awning this is? I know several options are available for the Go Pod.

    • @talksandtales5824
      @talksandtales5824  Před 3 lety +3

      It's the Kampa Airbeam.
      It's actually pretty easy to put up on your own once you've worked out how to peg it
      Packing it away and storing it is more of a challenge though.
      It definitely needs limpets to attach it to the side of the pod.
      Since filming this I've used it with the groundsheet and that made it pretty much as robust as a tent.
      If you're looking at awnings definitely check out the Sheltapod. I'm very tempted to change to that.

    shower cooking and heating - you had me there - may be a bit draughty in the awning but pop a heater in there and relax........potentially all year round get away whats not to like?

    • @talksandtales5824
      @talksandtales5824  Před rokem

      There is heating in the Pod itself. I've also got better at putting the awning up and adding the groundsheet makes an enormous difference.
      Indeed I do like it very much :)

    What do you do in a cold winter night when the wolves are roaming around? Have you got a WC and heating system?

    • @talksandtales5824
      @talksandtales5824  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, there's an air blown heating system that is temperature controlled and can either by powered by the electrics or the gas

      Most caravans have awnings, it's completely useable without the awning.
      It does have a portapotti (although I use the bivvyloo more).
      It may not suit you but it's worked very well for me & I would have had issues with a larger caravan.
