Guys, this video requires subtitles. I struggled to create subtitles on my own, and here's the result of my work: amara.org/en/videos/NjY2LJl7XoY3/info/behringer-wing-faq-daw-dca-latency-expansion-cards-and-more/ . There are still multiple words I couldn't understand (trust me - I tried hard) so it requires some update from your side.
With no offence, you should offer pronunciation classes for some of your employes.

Such as what how does MADI or DANTE work, as we see no ports for it?
Why USB 2.0, when USB C is becoming a standard, and has a higher bandwidth?
      How does DAW control function?

I would gladly pay double for a version of the Wing (or Midas equivalent) that was studio focused for music and post production with:
    96khz (ideally up to 192khz)
Comprehensive DAW control including dedicated transport functions and touch sensitive faders, colour and scribble strip follow, user assignable shortcuts and powerful plugin control
Comprehensive, intuitive and flexible surround monitoring functions (particularly for 7.1 up to ATMOS)
Bonus: HDMI I/O that passes through 4k video and extracts all audio for routing to whatever busses or monitors we choose (this would be an instant buy for many game audio professionals btw)

I got hands on wing last week. Brilliant first impression, but a few things:
The DynamicEQ has no graphic view? Only virtual knobs?
The Patch-Situation: Is there a 1:1 patch button coming? Maybe for an AES Group-Pool to patch a S32 easily 1:1 to source 1-32?
What is the button down the wheel on the right bottom of the touchdisplay for?

I wish it had word clock input like the X Adat card has. It would be so much better if you had added a word clock in and out on the console, so you can lock to video sync. But it looks like there is no word clock input option at all at the moment. A word clock time code card would be a great addition. You could then record UP TO 48 TRACKS off one of the AES50 ports with a DN9630 and be locked to video sync.

I just purchased this unit new on reverb and I gotta say... I'm extremely concerned with the lack of explanation about DAW integration (specifically Logic). Please @behringer open your mouth about this and put out some videos, or updates on firmware releases. It's very odd for you to keep dodging this topic or only glossing over it with 20-second explanations. 3500 dollars for a cutting edge console released in 2019/2020 without daw support or explanation is a bit like buying a tesla with no charging port. YOU MUST TALK TO US ABOUT DAW INTEGRATION! Now that I've done my share of cyberbullying for the day... Thank you for releasing this unit. Had the same problem with the X32 it's not really a DAW mixer. Took me weeks to simply inset an effect that I could hear in the daw, IE guitar amp insert to track in DAW. You have to go via the AES channels!! As a live engineer I fail to see the problem with inserting an effect I assumed this would be sent wherever you send the track post fade! As in that's what post fade means. The card outputs are locked to pre fade even when you select post fade. I also tried coming out of the buss and into a second channel on aux 1 still no luck.

nAbend zusammen.
Gruss

Hi , About the Card Slots: Will there be a possibility for the user to Access the internal Card Slot? I think I goud idea should be Dante and Waves internally and a MADI, Dante, ADAT Card for external Slot. Many thanks for this great product :)

    • @behringer
      @behringer  Před 4 lety +4

For easy user access WING has the external card slot.
The internal card can not be changed by the users. While it looks like plug and play it is actually more complicated: cables and a PCB have to get removed to access the internal expansion and an additional software has to be installed internally.
You can get the internal card upgraded in a service center.
And yes, it's possible to mix and match internal and external cards. For example two Dante cards or an internal Dante and an external Soundgrid card.

Why does Behringer build a mixing console like the WING, for which you need 6 stage boxes so that you can use the full potential of this machine? The Behringer Wing costs around 2700 euros. A stagebox almost 500 euros. This results in a total price of approx. 5000 euros. Does everyone know who wants to get a wing?

  • @gustersongusterson4120

One other question/comment that you probably can't answer at this point; are there any plans for a rack version similar to the X32 rack? I own two and find them incredibly useful and easy to transport for smaller / fly gigs. I also love that my stage box can be a monitor console. I'll probably continue to use my X32 rack in this fashion with the wing, but more inputs is always helpful! Thanks!

@BEHRINGER None of my questions were covered so I would like a reply: Can Wing have a backplane Master and Slave Wing "joiner" buss (linking sends & phones?) Will it get 96K support or not or is that the MIDAS Heritage D Touch/AIR product? Any 48 Fader BigWing? or only using Midi HUI/MUI Mackie option from third party?

What I'm still confused about is the multitrack recording capabilities.I have not seen any videos on if you can edit tracks from the touch screen? Does it just record tracks and you can't edit? so you have all these tracks in your computer that you want to upload and doing multitrack mixing session. Can you do that?all my questions have to do with the standalone multitrack capabilities.

Am I to understand this correctly? No delay compensation within the mix busses? Afaik the X/M series has it, why not the Wing? Parallel (Drum) Compression alone is a good reason to have delay compensation all around imho...
Or is this a feature coming in a later software version?

Would it be possible to run to both DANTE and MADI at the same time? We are building a new OB Trailer for Sports and Live Events. The BlackMagic ATEM Constellation runs MADI audio but we would also like to have the ability to include DANTE to make it simple in a concert environment to quickly and simply pull all the individual channels into our desk for recording and mixing from the Live FOH desks from the main Audio contractors, most of who will have a DANTE enabled console.

You covered the 'external' expansion card, which we already understand, but totally omitted to explain the 'internal' expansion, which is the thing we are all confused about! I want to have the Wing's network ports take Dante, (and keep the SD card 'external' option) - so how would I get my Wing delivered with that 'internal' Dante option in place?

    • @behringer
      @behringer  Před 4 lety +1
