My Caesar stone quartz counter stains much easier than anything I have ever had in the past (laminate and tile). You can get the stains out but it take some work, much more work than tile or laminate).
@@Person-mh6xq I bought my quartz counter direct from Costco and checked the company out. Yes, it is genuine Caesar Stone. I have to scrub with something like "Soft Scrub" to get most stains out. The stain my old faucet left when removed that was replaced after 8 years will not come out. But I do have the pure white stone if that makes a difference. My laminate never stained, and my tile stained but was super easy to clean.

90% of all quartz countertop come from one company called Breton Stone. This is the company that holds the patent for the process of making quartz slabs. All the companies you mentioned above buy from Breton Stone.
Not correct, yes Breton has the patent on the process and technology. Companies such as Cambria, silestone, Cesar stone, so on. License the technology and process.But not all companies license the technology and usually a lower quality product. Breton does not make all quartz, their technology/process is used.

I'm having a home built, and I'm getting blanco maple Silestone put in. I don't have any windows in my actual kitchen, but a big sliding glass door coming off of the dining area next to the kitchen. After seeing this video, I'm kind of nervous the sun will reach the island and discolor my countertops over time. What's the best course of action to prevent this?
I am employed by one of the largest stone installation companies within the state I live in. I work in the Material Department, Receiving & Quality Inspecting slabs of stone daily. I do not possess the years of Material Experience needed to be labeled as an expert. That being said, I will share my honest opinion, however PLEASE do your due diligence in researching the characteristics & proper maintenance of any material used in your home. I am very familiar with Blanco Maple and have once received a few of these slabs that have turned a slight tint of yellow. I have been told that it's rare and most likely a result of being stored outdoors, unprotected from the elements for years. As far as maintenance, I would suggest ALWAYS keeping your material clean. Using a mild mixture of Dawn Dish Soap & water in a spray bottle with a microfiber cloth will do just fine. Stay away from cleansers with harsh chemicals like bleach that can cause a chemical reaction on the surface and are known to dull or discolor with repeated use creating an orange or yellow tint. The Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide method is safe for tough stains. Always be mindful of the pressure you apply when scrubbing using anything remotely abrasive, too much pressure can damage/dull the surface. As far as UV protection from sunlight... I have heard that applying a thin coat of wax to a clean surface now & then will help aid in protecting against UV Damage as long as the wax doesn't possess any ingredients that would chemically react to the resins in the surface of the stone. I personally found this to be a valid question and even though I am replying to an old comment, I hope the information here will help anyone with their future investment. Hopefully Miss Selena had no issues that could delay installation of her Blanco Maple Silestone and is enjoying her Kitchen now. My apologies for this long comment but I must share one last piece of vital information.... Stone Suppliers and Installation Companies are separate entities! Take the time to study the Material you wish to purchase as well as the where it comes from and the company you will be trusting in your home to perform the installation! Look past the Showrooms! Examine and INSPECT your stone in person! Find out how your material is handled & stored! If your stone comes with a sealant, make sure you find out what type and what's safe to use on it. Not all sealants are the same and can't be mixed with just any chemical product off the shelf even if it's designed specifically for the type of stone you have or the person at Home Depot/Lowes says it's safe. Chemical Reactions Void Warranties!

Quartz is a man made material! It has plastic in it therefore it is not heat resistant. Always but always put something over the hot pan or else kiss your countertop goodbye because it will crack!

How is that possible? I've tested everything on Caesertone and nothing stains it. Are you certain yours is legit quartz?

Quartz vs granite vs quartzite. One is more boring than the next.
Quartz is a man made material! It has plastic in it therefore it is not heat resistant. Always but always put something over the hot pan or else kiss your countertop goodbye because it will crack!
I HATE them all! They are ugly, boring, drab, colorless. And they ALL look the same. Why not real metals with flash and flare?!
