We are throwing out into the internet OUR cast list for Wicked The Movie. If you're unaware, Wicked The Musical, one of broadway's most popular musicals, is being adapted into a movie musical.

That's what we'd like the cast to be, but realistically, you know they're gonna cast Meryl Streep as Madame Morrible and James Corden as Doctor Dillamond

I would love to see Ariana Debose play Elphaba because I think that vocally she could do it, and another actress color playing that lead role, and I think that she would just do it beautifully and I think acting wise she would absolutely kill it!

Renee is AMAZING, don’t get me wrong, but I can’t see her as Elphaba. Glinda on the other hand, I could totally see it!

I love the Tom Holland casting. That is actually brilliant. Also agree with padding the smaller characters with the movie stars and making the two witches newer or less mainstream talent.
Actually Idina REALLY wants to be in the Wicked movie, everytime she is asked who she wants to play Elphaba in the movie she always says she wants her self in it 😆 In fact she said that they could make her look younger through cgi if they wanted to.
Plus, she's supposed to be..like green, so it would be even easier
Regarding finding an unknown for Elphaba with an otherwise "star-studded" cast, I totally agree. I feel like that worked really well in Hairspray.

Every Wicked dream casting video I've seen always has at least one "ew, really?" choice (usually several) and I was bracing for it the whole video but hot damn I agree with this!

Man, you guys had the same basic idea as me: Stack the people who aren't the leads with big Hollywood names and big Broadway names, but have Elphaba and Glinda be played by relative unknowns who have Broadway experience.

I'd love to see you guys do "dream casts" of musicals that already have movie versions. Just, you know, what if they were making Hello Dolly RIGHT NOW as a movie, who would you pick? Any musical that was already a movie (in addition to all the ones that aren't).
Also I feel like Neil Patrick Harris would make a good Wizard even though he might be "too young" (I mean I think he's old enough to have a college-aged daughter). A Series of Unfortunate Events was a good showcase of his ability to be really menacing while still seeming like a normal, friendly man.
Y’all should totally do this for other Broadway musicals (to movies) too!

Cast a film version of Spring Awakening!! It'd be interesting because the actors need to be young for the story to have any impact but need to be old enough to carry the story out, and talented enough. It's actually a really hard show to cast

I dont remember who played her but I went to see wicked at The West End and the person who played Nessa was PHENOMENAL and I'd love to see her again. She made me fall in love with Nessa and shes now one of my dream roles

My dream Elphaba would be Jasmine Cephas Jones. She played Peggy and Mariah Reynolds in Hamilton and she was phenomenal. Plus she’s a belter like Idina Menzel.
Me and my cousin like to do this with different movies but we always choose people of color for roles because we get very little representation. And as much as. I hate to say sometimes it seems like that's the only way we get it.

my friend and I discussed this the other day, and after playing Ryan doing as long as you're mine I barely even had to convince her that you should be Fiyero in the movie adaptation. Some of our other castings that we could agree on were Jordan Fisher as Boq and Rachel Zegler as Nessarose.

My picks for Elphaba and Glinda are Chloe and Halle (the sisters from the duo Chloe x Halle). Chloe has the range and can belt like crazy, I bet she can handle all the songs and notes just fine, so she would make a perfect Elphaba. Halle is an amazing soprano and her voice is so beautiful - also, since she’s playing Ariel in the Little Mermaid, that would be great to advertise. They’re also at the peak of their careers right now, it would be perfect 😭😭
