this mans charisma and talent were off the charts. Played something like 27 instruments, wrote and produced all his own material and ruled the 1980's along with Michael Jackson and continued to put out great stuff till his passing. What I really love about Prince is that you cant put him into one genre of music, he was a pop idol with songs like little red corvette, a master of ballads and epic rock guitar solo's like Purple rain and even knew his way around jazz as proved by his musicology album. not only was he incredibly talented but one of the most handsome entertainers to ever live, not hard to see why he was a heartthrob all his life.
Eric Clapton said he’s the best guitarist he’s ever heard. Such a rare and incredible talent he was. Prince was one of a kind.

I enjoyed this guy in my era. He got going right at the height of the Disco Era, and gradually rolled over all that. I think he had hit Rock God status.
This was the first song I ever heard him do. And I fell in love with the album and his music.
His early 80s stage set had the feel of a peep show with the colors and the light passing through the meta that looks like blinds. Prince didn’t rehearse making videos, so when he dropped out of camera view doing splits, it had to be reshot😂
He used actual vintage Venetian blinds during this video as well as on the 1999 tour.

The longer version provides more proof that this song is not about a Corvette. Yes, Prince pushed his limits on many of his songs. Controversy, I would Die for You, Raspberry Beret, Erotic City are some really good ones to give a try.

Years before this video when Prince was just an up and coming performer, he was the opening act for Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones. That particular crowd of rockers and hell's angels wasn't ready for Prince. They threw beer bottles at him and booed him off the stage. Obviously, Prince used that as fuel and totally took over the Rock World eventually.🌹

A prince review. Cool! A suggestion: Would you express your thoughts on Allison Krauss performing When You Say Nothing At All? Her vocals are incredibly smooth and soothing. More of an alto version of Karen Carpenter in that both voices are so inviting.
