For the U.S. EB-3 visa process or any family-based immigration visa like the F4 visa category (brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens), when managing your application on the U.S. Travel Docs website or any relevant platform, you, as the principal applicant, are typically responsible for adding your dependents to your application. They do not get added automatically. This means you should enter their details and manage their applications alongside your own.
Here are the general steps you should follow, keeping in mind the process might have minor differences based on the specific requirements of the U.S. embassy or consulate where you are applying:
Create Your Profile: As you have done, create your profile on the U.S. Travel Docs website or the platform specified by the U.S. embassy or consulate handling your case.
Add Dependents: Look for a section or option to "Add Dependents" or "Manage Dependents." You will need to input their personal information, such as names, dates of birth, passport numbers, and relationship to you. This step is crucial for scheduling their visa interviews together with yours.
Complete DS-160 for Each Dependent: Each dependent must have their own DS-160 form filled out. The DS-160 form is the online nonimmigrant visa application form, and it's necessary for each person applying for a visa, regardless of age.
Schedule Interviews: Depending on the instructions provided by the embassy or consulate, you may be able to schedule a single interview appointment for your entire family or you may need to schedule individual appointments. Follow the specific guidance provided on the scheduling website or by the embassy/consulate.
Prepare Documentation: Ensure that each dependent has the necessary documentation for the visa interview. This typically includes passports, photos, completed DS-160 confirmation pages, interview appointment letters, and any other documents specified in your interview letter or by the embassy.
Given your specific reference to having trouble with the "manage dependents" section and your visa type being F4, it's important to double-check the visa category and procedures with the U.S. embassy or consulate directly if you encounter any discrepancies or technical issues on the website. Since visa processes can be complex and prone to changes, directly consulting with the embassy or consulate or seeking advice from a legal immigration professional can provide the most accurate guidance tailored to your situation.
Lastly, for the interview itself, while your visa category is F4, the commonly asked interview questions for visa categories like EB-3 (employment-based) might not exactly match your situation, but preparing for general questions about your relationship with the petitioner (your sibling who is a U.S. citizen), your family's intentions in the U.S., and your ties to your home country can be beneficial.
