We had fashion plates in the 80’s. They were originally made in 1978. We loved them so much.

The trouble with those moulds for candles is if you did put a wick in it, it would have to stick out the flat bottom and sit on the bubbly top. But they would look cute.
Maybe you could drill a hole in it and then put a wick in so it would sit on the flat side.
Make the candles without wicks. Use a piece of heated wire to poke a hole down through the centre out through the bottom, insert wick and bend over on the "top" side (the bottom when its in the mold) to secure it, then reinsert into mold. Melt a small amount of wax and dribble into the hole.....a bit of overrun wont matter because its the base of the candle youre looking at, wiggle the wick around to settle the wax around the wick and ensure that you have wax to the bottom, a small syringe can help. Let wax set then unmold again.

@@heatherrowles2580, yup, came to say the same. I know several artists who make molded candles and that exactly what they do. That way the wick doesn’t mess up the form of the candle. Most use stretched out wire hangers from the dry cleaner.
The Fashion plates were already a toy in the 1980's/90's but it was on a revolving plate type thing so you moved everything around, it was called a "Fashion Wheel" :)
the fashion wheel was one version but i had one more like jazzy's, it belonged to my big sisters so probably from early 80s
@@Ourgrenni6164, yeah, I remember the plate version when they came out. My sister bought a Barbie one for my daughter when she was 5 or 6. We still have and it’s almost 25 years old. If my kids ever give me grandkids, they can play with it too.
OMG I had fashion plates back in the 70's. If I remember right the back of the plates had the textile patterns for your outfits.
oh yeah! mine had 70s flares and pussy bow blouses and there was a texture that was full on hippy flowers!
That has brought back so many memories!! I had one of those fashion plates when I was younger, and you could change each part of their outfit - so you could chose a head, top and trousers and shoes - I loved my fashion plates so much!

I absolutely LOVED fashion plates as a kid! They should make ones for animals, monsters, Heros, medical personnel, ect.....
I got a keyboard protection slip that covers it from off Amazon too along with the keyboard and mouse, it takes a bit of getting used to - but the number of times I've spilt food and stuff on my keyboard, it's a lifesaver. All I have to do is was it with dish soap and water and it's good to go again. Plus Fashion Plates was one of my fave things as a kid!

Why is the bracelet helper shaped like that? 🤣 It looked like something else entirely coming out of the packaging
That’s a fancier version of it. I’ve also seen them also as turned wood spindles with less “bauble-iness”, just a couple of “bulbs” or grooves, or as spindles with an embellishment on top to grip with your fingers. I’m sure all of the baubles on this one are to better hold it in place with your fingers.

Those bracelet holders were originally made for people with arthritis to make putting on and taking off jewelry easier. As someone whose wrists literally don’t bend due to rheumatoid arthritis, I appreciate helpers like this.

The wickless candle is a cute decoration. Although I wouldn't put it on his paper just in case it made oil marks. You could even spray paint it and then scrape off stuff in designs!

Definitely going to remember the tiny phone bit. I think it’d be a great way to give your kid their first phone to contact you at a youngish age and not worrying about them being on social media. You can also use it to test if your kid is mature enough for a nicer phone. “If you can take care of this phone for X amount of time, we’ll get you a better one.” If they lose it/break it/drop it in the toilet, no big deal.
