Oh man, I'm still looking for the elusive house hippo. Though growing up in Newfoundland it's easy to understand why I haven't... They can't swim in salt water, duh.
It's interesting to see how the different provinces are handling all this though. For all the crap I've given local politicians for other issues, I must say they've at least given a clear consistent message throughout this... And I haven't heard of a single politician who fled the country for the tropics while mandating a lockdown on their own constituents here in NS... Unlike some other provinces.
Good to see you back and thanks for another video!

Those PSA's from when I was a kid really shaped my life, happy for them. Especially "Why be you when you can be me?" and "What's your thing?"
Side note, they should have aired "Don't you put in in your mouth" on TV again as an anti-covid ad

The German PSA probably remains my favourite, even though it was absolutely pointless and achieved nothing. But at least it was creative and that’s something the German government usually isn’t especially good at.

@@friemo660 Yeah to be fair the PSA didn’t age well when considering the incredibly inconsistent and lacklustre efforts to get the pandemic under control in recent months. I still find it charming for what it is, though like I mentioned before I also think these campaigns were absolutely pointless.

You ought to see the UK ones, back in January when infection rates rose again, they released a campaign called 'look into my eyes' showing patients and staff in intensive care wards, a lot of people saw it as nightmare fuel, it was on before 9pm (which means in the UK that it should be suitable for children before 9pm) and therefore it received a lot of backlash from the general public, on the CZcams upload of the ad it has received so many more dislikes to likes.

I like the mr covid campaign because its a good visual reminder that covid can be anywhere, at any gathering, no matter how safe you think it is.

Personally, I thought they were all rather watery & ineffectual. I've always believed that if you want to get a serious message across you have to hit the people hard in the gut whether it be through a PSA that is gut-wrenchingly sad or one that scares the living sh!t out of them. Perhaps likening ignoring social distancing & not wearing a mask to taking the family to the mall after being made aware that there's an active shooter there would be more effective in getting the message across. Obviously, some sensitivity toward the time slot in relation to the age group of viewers would be required.
