The song was written for one of his friends wedding. And the Japanese audience is completely different from US audiences. You see that in a lot of OOR songs. Especially for their more intimate performances.

This feels like the version of the song sung through a struggle like a health struggle, divorce, or death, its sooooo haunting and sad - the album version is the wedding version.
The original version has a more happy and romantic vibe, which is why it becomes one of the most popular songs played in weddings in Japan. This particular arrangement is slowed down and feels more emotional. OOR often do this, tweaking arrangements for the live shows and give the songs a completely different vibe. A good live version with the original arrangement you can check out is from Mighty Long Fall at Yokohama Stadium. Taka pulled one of their techs on stage in the middle of the song to give him a shout out for recently being married.

I really dislike when other people, especially kpop groups cover One Ok Rock songs because they never sound as good as when Taka sings them.
Unlike those groups, One Ok Rock makes songs that have meaning and Taka has a beautiful, unique voice that these other people donât. Rock is big in Japan and now Koreans are trying to form rock bands imitating OOR - listening to their videos and copying their songs - I really hate that!
Takaâs performances are special and youâre the first one Iâve heard say you posted a cover of this song and you wanted to see how Takaâs version sounded! How could it sound but fabulous when he wrote it, itâs the original and everything else is imitation?
Exactly, I just watched a girl rave over a Korean cover about how beautiful his voice is. She thought Taka yelled throughout the song. It really annoyed me I wanted to punch her in the ears đđ
For me personally nothing will beat the original of One Ok Rock. They are just one of those bands, but I appreciate others doing covers. Even if it's not as good it helps spread awareness for one ok rock, and who knows they may have a special connection with the song and want to sing it. I love all types of music and can't wait to hear more from everyone! đ„°
