- Incredible band from the Evansville, Indiana area. This is far and away their best record in my opinion, released in 2000 on Lobster Records.
Tracklist:
1.) Break Lights On
2.) She Runs The Ride
3.) Slow Song
4.) In Even Time
5.) Twelve O'clock Call
6.) Nothing To Write
7.) One Way Letters
8.) 3 O'clock
9.) The City Call
10.) Touch Tone Bell - Hudba
I keep coming back to these songs in very different stages in my life and still have a deep connection beyond definition and reminds me why integrity is so important. I bought the vinyl for this record about 2 or 3 years ago and I'm NEVER selling it or giving it away. Very few things in my life are consistent but this record has continually brought me joy, inspiration and intellectual stimulation for almost 15 years. Incredibly thankful to have grown (and still grow) alongside this record. Thank you for the upload.
I completely agree.
Before Mock Orange turned into Modest Mouse/Pavement/Death Cab For Cutie

Amazing album by an amazing band
thank you so much for the upload
Figured out my stepdad went to school with these guys and was bestfriends with them.
Well one of them atleast
thank you very much, tbh I hate when people upload their albums without time stamps, it at least a simple tracklist. Really appreciate you
Truly an underrated band
most underrated and underappreciated album of all time
truth.
Their entire catalog is criminally underrated
I’m glad I found this. My favorite genre of music. Time for a revival guys.
I still listen to this weekly! New album came out today jam it!!!!
Don't understand how these guys didn't make it to the big time at some point.
tyler winters major sound change after this album
I think maybe because this came out towards the end of the whole initial pop punk/emo wave/trend. most of that stuff was initially hitting in the mid to late 90s, then everyone started doing it, so major labels prob didn't see any $$ in them. Just my speculation. I'm not mad though, I hate to see good indie bands sell out
One way letters always my favourite
Saw these guys in 2004 in SATx, played just as good as the album.
this is just as good, if not better, as any sunny day, mineral, or american football album. it's crazy that even in the emo scene, these guys were not well known. I probably never would have heard them if my friend didn't put she runs the ride and does it show on a mix cd in 2002. 12 o'clock call is soo good
2000 was the year I got into Braid and was bummed they were pretty much done. I waited for what was post braid for their members and while I liked hey Mercedes, I wish I would have found this album instead! 2020 is 20 years late, but I’m happy I’m finally here.
This is amazing.
Beautiful
Indiana represent
Their first two records are incredible. Really never got into their indie stuff. I always thought they had a unique emo sound. But the trend of the early 2000s was more indie/folk based. Wish they’d return to this sound again. It’s so nostalgic driving through your local city.
This is actually their third album. They released an album before nines and sixes but for some reason they never talk about it.
@@scotthooten5967hink they release two albums before this if I’m correct titled “the green album” (1997) and Open Sunday (1995) which are finally on youtube
@Jackets On Fire I didn't know about Open Sunday. I have the Green Album and it is really good. Now I have to see if I can find a copy of Open Sunday!
@@scotthooten5967 I had absolutely no idea there was anything before nines and sixes. When I first saw this comment I had to Google it, I thought for sure you were mistaken or crazy lol .. is the green album (I believe it's self titled) on youtube?
@plotinus was here I am from Evansville so I was going to Mock Orange shows when they first started. I picked up a copy of the green album when they were selling it at a show. I still listen to it to this day. I like it just as much as nines and sixes. I really hope they release a remastered version of it.
5:35 あまりにカッコ良すぎる神イントロ
Used to come watch these guys play in Muskegon, MI back in the day. Revisiting this truly great album after too many years away.
sounds a bit like heatmiser it's really cool, his voice is so similar to early elliott smith
The Energy in these albums(nines & sixes and The record play) is amazing!
i can feel it in every bone! changes, ups and downs that keep you focus all the song in every note i personally love the little details in the drums.
so these are my favorite records, i can´t remember the skateboarding show (captain & casey dunno) , but they played Twelve O'clock Call i think, it was long time ago 😏
Sounds like Braid to me kind of. Debating if I should buy this cd.
You should grab it. I can see the Braid reference, especially on this album over Nines & Sixes
I got it. Now I play it in my car every day.
yep
i really recognise this from somewhere an can't think where?
"she runs the ride" was on the soundtrack of a game called Amped
i can't say i played it.. i remembered i actually saw them years ago and thats where i knew some of the songs from! i went to so many gigs when i was younger it all blurs into one!!
I found them through some of 900 Films productions (Tony Hawk's Film company), they had some of MO's music in Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark tour which i watched over and over when i was younger. You might have seen a skateboarding video...also I think some shows around the same time (i.e. Viva La Bam, other MTV shows) featured Twelve O' clock call and some others that i can remember.
This band still active?? I saw them way back in 2003 live
Yup
Damn can't believe that was two decades ago already
College
Mathrock personified. This is not emo.
The first song especially is kind of hard to learn by ear on guitar lol
Emo personified. This is not math rock.
@@SnackJar agreed. This is totally emo, with some uncommon time signatures on the side.
