Brian May of Queen tells story they used to go and see him before Queen. Always spoke after the show gave them hints and guitar tips. Brian really respected him.

Hey man I appreciate your passion for this great guitar player we called Rory. I first saw him at a Rush concert of all things. I knew of him from the early days with the sweet I think it was was. I have a vinyl of him live in San Diego in74’ that is flat out amazing. In my years I have seen many concerts with many different bands. Rory is definitely a virtuoso musician. It’s so good to see that there are younger people who are discovering the great music of the past.
I gotta correct myself. Taste was the early stuff.
Love the original ‘live’ version, kids in audience are going nuts.

I'm 70 and Rory is the best guitarist I've ever seen in my life, especially in concert. I recommend that you check out his version of this song at the Rockpalast in Germany. It's much longer and his solo towards the end is even better. Great choice of artist POPE and I enjoyed your reaction.

On stage, R.G. always very confident. But he wasn't. Throughout his life he was a rather shy and reserved guy. He somehow only lived for the blues-(rock) music, always gave concerts and lived exclusively in hotels without having a home. Despite his successes, which he never really enjoyed, he lived a very sad life! My favorite LP is "Irish Tour" which was a real revelation to blues rock and for me it is his masterpiece. Thanks for sharing and best wishes @all from Hamburg (germany)

Oh yes, Rory 😢 Rest in Peace or rocking with the rest of God's band. I hope he was buried in a plaid flannel shirt and not a suit. Saw him live in Milwaukee in 1974 I believe. I wonder if that's why I tend to wear plaid flannel shirts. Gorgeous man.

You always seem to get the great ones. Rory Gallagher was a great musician who never was interested in Rock or pop status. Best version is the Irish Tour live version though. The sound quality and energy is so much better. So is his guitar solo.

One of the all time great guitarists. Rory had an unusal condition where his sweat was highly acidic, that's why the veneer of the guitar was so worn away.
Great Choice. If you want to see them just give it their all may I suggest Shado Play you wont be disappointed. Not that you would with Rory.
