I've found keeping my specs in my boats live fish box works great for here in FL as keeping them alive as long as possible keeps them from going to mush... You could try a cage for them...🤔

Hey I'm a southport local where are you launching your kayak at. I usually launch at wildlife but that's to far of a paddle from there
Can you launch at the public pier in Southport? Still a bit of a paddle but nowhere close to as far as Wildlife creek. Capt. Jimmy Price made those docks famous.

$1-piece blue crabs for bait, and up here in MA they're protected under a certain size and a delicacy lol.
It’s the same in the south, we just have a lot more here with a longer growing size and because of that our size requirements are a tad smaller.

can anybody recommend a good channel for shore fishing in the long island sound ?? preferably Connecticut side .. of course I have seen John Skinner but these guys fish way out on the North shore and I cant seem to find anything on the LI Sound West shore south of New Haven.. maybe I need to start my own channel lol
