A Quik Story Time: Northport's [Forests & Woodlands] are not far from the [Beaches & Wetlands] (Nature's Preserves). [My Collie & I] are running along one of the [Woodland's Paths] when suddenly Lassie stops and positions herself on the side of a hill and lies down. I look around. I didn't see anything. Then I looked up. An Eagle had spotted my Collie & was beginning its dive! Lassie looked at me. She knew the Eagle meant business. She was 50 feet from me. I knew the "young" Eagle would reach her before me. I immediately drew the young Eagle's attention with [Loud Staccato Noises]. Its [Talons] hit the ground just 2 feet from my collie. He missed. I was at my Collie's side when he upraised his wings to fly skyward. It was in that moment I had to make a decision. To churl the Eagle or let it go. I let it go. It was an endangered species. As it flew skyward above the treeline it circled & flew off. We never saw that eagle again. However, we did have many hours chasing foxes & squirrels and discovering where their Dens & nests were. To the Point: The Eagle's Attack really happened. All the facts are true. It's part of the Adventures of a Woodland's Wonders & Mysteries. Have a Safe & Comfortable Holiday, my friends.
