  • Residents of George and environmental groups in the Southern Cape town gathered at the Garden Route dam, in a show of force against a multi-million rand new proposed development at the dam.
The project recently got the green light from the Department of Environmental affairs after completing the environmental impact assessments. The proposal is in its early stages, but scores are against it as it will change the landscape of the dam. The development includes residential areas as well as commercial property.

I do NOT support the development, and a lot of George residents also do NOT support this. Who has been paid what to look the other way?

It happens all over. In my coastal hometown a development was approved and ends completion in the next six months that will cause untold problems for the area. Lots of underhand deals are involved in these issues.

They only see money! But on the other hand Development are done near the coastal line too which should also be stopped. PE had so many developments without the necessary water resources and now they can not supply water to citizens

Some developers and municipalities only see their pockets filled. Development in this area will only lead to more pollution in this area. Our country is already so polluted, when will these people learn.
