    Everything looks beautiful. That plant at 32:43 looks like an Azalea. My mom had those when I was growing up.

      Thank you!!! I really appreciate it 🙏🏽🌸 I’ll look up light pink azaleas and see what I can find

      The Farmer's Almanac has a great article about azaleas, including the different varieties. The nice thing about them in our climate is that they are evergreen. Some varieties even bloom both spring and fall.

    My soil is also so hydrophobic in my containers... I spend a lot of time yesterday digging through the soil, with my hose at full blast trying to hydrate it! It took so much water and a lot of work but better than spending money on new soil. Can't wait to see the next garden tour in May!

      Ohh good to know that you could make it work! 😊😊 I hope the wood chips can help a little bit at the plot too. Thank you so much for watching!! 💚

      That is what I was thinking as well! My grandmother had a gorgeous shrub in her yard, and wow, did the pollinators love the flowers, especially the bumblebees and hummingbirds.

    Love the garden tours. ❤ It is really fun to see the progress across the season. My tomatoes are not doing well unfortunately, not sure why. Luckily, the Hudson Valley Seed Company is selling seedlings this year on pre sale, so I am going to buy some as a backup. 😊

    Everything looks amazing!!! 😻😻The second plot that you garden in, are you allowed to have a barrel to collect additional rainwater to increase water access?

    • @MarisGardenandKitchen
      @MarisGardenandKitchen  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I’ll have to ask my neighbor that owns the plot! It wouldn’t have a gutter so it would have to be just passive collection from the rain but I think it’s a great idea!! Thank you so much for the comment 💚

      I have definitely thought of day but it’s so hard to catch people home! I have ringed the bell of some houses a few times and no one ever shows up lol It could be that people don’t really want to talk to strangers much anymore, but I don’t feel comfortable taking without asking
