    I actually have a personal line of credit. It's a revolving, unsecured account but it can be cash. It's different from a credit card because it's not a cash advance. It's an account I have as safety net. Interest is simple 15%.

  • @KamauBlack
    @KamauBlack Před 5 lety

    I have an excellent credit score (btw 750 and 800) but with only credit cards, student loans, and service credit. My report is mostly spotless though with no missed payments 7% utilization, but a single hard inquiry and only 5 years age of credit.

    Have 1 credit card that is paid off each month when I use it. Utility and A Bank Account, that is ROI after 12 months. Car Insurance is paid in full without installments. 1 Paid-Up before you can use it Credit Card. At the moment I am looking at updating my Finance Qualification in Accountancy, so may look at paying through installments, though it could be paid in full. Web Hosting is a small amount each month that is paid via Credit Card so I and utilise it for payment.
    Though that site does need content put on it as it has been sitting there for a year.

    I don’t know why a consolation loan or an unsecured loan would be better than not having one at all. I have all but the last one. Also I’ve read that paying off an auto loan early would close the account therefore dropping ones credit score temporarily.

    How do you feel about Dave Ramsey's thoughts on this subject? Some of his rules are to not have credit cards and make sure that you pay off all of you loans and to never borrow money again. He says you can build your credit just fine without credit cards and loans

    • @Sexy40baby1
      @Sexy40baby1 Před 5 lety +2

      You can not build credit without borrowing money. Dave says your score will not exist if you stop borrowing money.

      I saw something called Boost or credit boost on one of the big 3 credit bureau sites, can't remember which one but it does allow you to include utilities. Since it said boost, I figured it was only to temporarily boost your score like if you're seeking a loan or something. Might be worth checking out. Credit rules are always changing.
