2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor W203 Rear Shock Install

Get rid of those horrible blown out rear shocks. I will show you how to install new rear shocks. Im installing a set of Bilstein's. Purchased from Pelican Parts.com.

Thanks for sharing this video. I used the information in it to replace the rear shocks in on my 05 C230. I made one change in your procedure. I jacked up the rear of the car by placing the jack under the differential. I then placed jack stands under the jack pads before I removed the wheels. You are correct that compressing the shocks to remove them takes quite a bit of force and I think that was the toughest part of the job. I used a tie rod separator as a lever to press down the shock most of the way and brute force to move it the last half inch. I saw several videos in which the technician placed the car on a lift. This seems to allow the technician to exert more force on the shock because they are in a standing position and can approach it from a more beneficial angle. When I installed the new shock, I used my jack to push it upward and then slid it into position on the control arm.

Would've/Could've/Should've been easier just top SLOT-CUT the Interior Panels around where you need to simply get a Wrench into/onto the top strutt Nut.
