Bang Chan is literally a GENIUS musician. He created the main beat to reflect the effect of a sticky spiderweb... He's the main producer of the group and ofc this album is no exception
The laid back rapline in this one was everything, Changbin was criiiisp and Hyunjin - pew pew pew!
I think they are basically talking about their struggle with fame in this album, especially this song. They are getting addicted to the overwhelming love they receive, it's a double sided sword, as it tastes sweet but it gives them a lot of pressure as well. They are at a point they don't know how to handle it anymore.

Oh my word!! I love this comment…. it’s exactly how I feel… 45 year old rock chick who grew up with a huge like of electro rock such as Depeche Mode and Gary Numan. These guys are not KPop idols they are music idols… they are so talented, genuine and passionate. Been loving these guys since I discovered them two years ago. Can’t wait for them to announce UK or Europe tour dates as me and my 14 year old daughter will be first in line!!

In the end of the mv Felix closed the door of the exit from the inside... even he founded the door and it was opened, he closed it with pokerface. Like everybody has a chance to eacape, but nobody does it even if we can see the door.. Daamn this mv is so dope, i love this guys so much, and their music is so qualitative every every time. I feel like another way of taking it is a toxic relationship, you want to get out because you know it's toxic, but you got into it on purpose and now you're trapped. Once you're there the toxic person's venom becomes addicting and you no longer want to leave even though you know it's bad for you.

The spiderweb represents the music industry/K-pop and the venom is the fame and glory that comes with it. They talked about the struggle, pain, loneliness that comes with trying to make it in the music industry, the venom is something they willingly Injected/consumed,because they know that along with the pain comes the fame, money, and the ability to make the music they want. It’s a double edged sword. It’s why you see Felix close the door to the exit at the end. It’s their choice to stay in the spiderweb aka the music industry. It’s why they are playing dangerous games also-the music industry is not for the faint of heart, you play the game knowing at any moment you could lose…it’s a song that can also be interpreted as a toxic love you can’t let go of-but that less interesting than what I said before 😅. I’m so so glad you’re reacting to these! This album is SO dope! There are 7 tracks total and 4 have MVs … I recommend listening to the 3 that don’t ( Charmer, Waiting for Us, and Muddy Water) as color-coded lyric vids. Charmer is so interesting musically, and Waiting for Us is a beautiful ballad (reinforcing that Stray Kids can do it all).
Muddy Water is OLD SKOOL hip hop. Muddy Water is a rap-line sub unit with Changbin, Han, Felix and Hyunjin. Even if you don’t feel like doing a reaction to it…I think you would love love Muddy Water! Thanks always for your reactions!

I really *really* like your interpretation of this song. It feels like the sibling-song of Red Lights with Bang Chan and Hyunjin, which is about this work-obsession that is really unhealthy but hard to pull away from. When you mentioned the idol life/social media, it hit me that the lyrics in this song are talking about "I know this situation is poison, I know it's terrible for me, but I chose to be here and I'm not going to try to leave," and that fits that so well.
Anyways Changbin has never looked better, couldn't even look at anyone else when he was on screen.
Han, Changbin and Bang Chan are the Producer Line in Stray Kids and they produced (almost) every song of Stray Kids, they are called 3RACHA

the strength of straykids is that the beat and intro are amazing, they take control of their song and dive deep into it. they understand what they want and make it clean, Of course since they made it themselves, they are the king of concepts

Knowing the exit is there (giving their career all up) but they still stay because even though it is toxic and poisonous they trapped themselves on purpose because they love what they do, but it is a love hate relationship like Joker and Harley. Dodging bullets, and being stabbed (all the hate and backlash) for being different and not staying quite about how the industry truly is and from haters. Ugh I can go on forever about this MV and song, there's so many deep meaning behind it. Honestly it is it's own title track, it starts off the album and sets the tone. What an absolute masterpiece!

they *are* different. i mean, they are the only kpop group i know, who does almost *almost* everything themselves. other groups might also be creative and participate in lyrics or melody. but not to the level that these guys are. They come up with it all and they are the hardest working group I have seen. They really really impress me so much. I am happy to see your genuine love for them. I had the same reaction as you to this song. I couldn't believe what i was hearing. they keep getting better and better.
It's just, they are so genius👏🤧, i can't imagine how hard they work, especially bangchan, this man always busy, he always try harder to create something amazing, and the member have their own unique, they also contribute to write their own lyrics, and other thing, this group is incredible actually

I see a venomous relationship between an artist and fame:
"the more I move the more trapped I get" (reminds me of quicksand) = once you enter "Idol level" everything you do is restricted, no life/love/family besides what is expected from Idols.
"The greatest twist is that your appearance is the trap" = everyone wants to be rich and famous - an Idol- but outsiders don't know what sacrifices an artist has to make, once you hop on that wave you have to conform your entire existence to its rules.
"the spreading venom, this addictive poison, any sense of feeling threatened has disappeared now" = the more successful you become the sweet taste of fame (venom) is addicting you accept it even relish it,
and they don't want to exit "I want it more, I need it more...I can't run away, where would I even go?.....I don't want to get out of this" and final scene Felix closes the door/exit to an ordinary life.
It's an awesome beat, very addictive just like Maniac. Amazing album.

Just wanted to say i loooove Anthony's reactions to stray kids, especially being someone who knows music, i mean as a musician(rapper) himself, seing him point out the beats, the diff layers of sounds and the little ad libs and appreciate them... makes me feel so content and proud and happy that someone like him appreciates and enjoys music like this even if he doesnt understand it he makes an effort to understand what the kids are trying to tell the listeners and do a deep dive into them. Yeah, Bang Chan is the producer of their music, he produce almost every tracks for them to work on. Of course he works with some other producers but in the credit he takes a large part. CB and Han are more in the melody, top lines, rap flow and lyrics. They are a team called 3Racha, the producer team of Stray Kids. Very talented

i think them "fighting each other" wasn't really supposed to symbolize them fighting, but more of them playing dangerous games (baseball with a grenade, boxing with studded gloves, chess) they're playing this dangerous back and forth game with fame and the kpop industry where the industry hurts them, but they're addicted to it. the ending scene symbolizes how they CAN get out, but they choose to stay. that's also showed with the bow and arrow scene with i.n and bangchan. i.n. has the bow pointed straight at bangchan, but bangchan is holding the arrow to his chest, he's a willing participant, even if it kills him.

I must say that the 8 of them are a chaotic mess most of the time and I'm here for it! I've never found a group that I could relate to so well but now I'm looking forward to whatever else they got. My theory is that I think the spider represents anxiety and depression. They are trapped and can't get away from it. Now this is where it turns more toxic. Felix is controlling the spider, which means he has control of his feelings. Jeongin also said that "feeling threatened has disappeared now" being consumed by darkness and their negative thoughts, that somehow they're used to it. Han pointed the gun on his head, Chan letting jeongin hold the arrow pointed right through his heart and Chan and changbin also doing the sword box illusion. They are numb, as if it's like "If I die, so what?" Basically: if they're trapped, oh well, what's the point of escaping when they purposely wanted to be trapped in the first place, like changbin said at the beginning.
Felix eats the spider and it goes to his heart. The "venom" (negativity) spreads, which means NO ONE can help them but themselves. And at the end, they chose not helping themselves at all, getting stuck by their own mind and having no thoughts of escaping. Which then felix closes the door that says "exit"

The idea of the song is about the toxic love. "You got me wrapped up around your fingers", so they explain how they know the love is toxic but they don't want to escape it. That's why Felix closed the door and stayed, he chose to keep drinking the poison of this love potion.

I've heard multiple times that venom is about being stuck in a toxic relationship, the person keeping you in it being the so presented spider and it's serving you venom to keep you sickly close to them. Hope that makes sense
the song speak of a poisoned love. It hurts but they accepted. In the end they decide to stay where they are trapped because started to like that kind of toxic relation

idk if you know that stray kids produce their own musics so yeah, bangchan makes the beat. the producers are bangchan, changbin and han. and i agree with you, changbin is just.. even before debut he catches everyone's attention. his senior and some producers said when it's his part you can't tear your eyes from him.
