ACS stands for Attack Characterization System. It's basically the software that translates data from all our survelliance systems and then runs them against all known databases to identify them. The problem with ACS is that since it needs simultanious access to most of America's intelligence databases and command structures to work correctly, the system has almost universal access. So if you copy it, you could "piggy back" into any major database, rewrite or blank data, etc.
The realism here is something else. The voice acting is incredible throughout this game... the air raid sirens going off and the ATC yelling over the coms seems so real.
“Realism” I don’t think a Russian invasion of the mainland United States is even in the realm of possibilities especially with their performance in Ukraine
There's no realism here, if Russian Mongols tried to fly or sail within 100 miles of US territory they'd be feeding the entire ecosystem of the Atlantic Ocean for the next 20 years.

I mean, as far as the campaigns go, Modern Warfare 2019 and Black Ops Cold War were pretty good (even if Black Ops Cold War's campaign was hella short, lol).
Same thing for me and Modern Warfare 3, I played the missions in NY, and man seeing landmarks and your home city turned into a war torn battlefield, it hits different.
The second I heard "THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!," I knew stuff went from 0 to 100 with the start of WW3 in the game. Gives me chills to this day everytime I hear it.
Arguably one of the best moments in CoD history overall. And easily the best campaign out of all of them. It's not a complex twist, it's a rather simple cutscene, but delivered so perfectly that it just works.
Nukes would be in Moscow about 30 seconds after reports of an invasion and another 30 seconds after that they would be in DC. Call of Duty MW2 would have lasted all of 2 hours. XD
But keep in mind the USA in this timeline became weaker after the war in the Middle East so the Russians attacked at the very right moment while the USA was trying to recover from all of its losses

In Modern Warfare 2, they're referring to the fact that your character (Allen) is engaged in the mundane activites of running an obstacle course he's run many times before and teaching the local militia how to shoot. "Nah fuck it just fuck everyone over, but especially the Russians" I mean, if we wthink about it, it wasnt that irrational. I mean the US-forces were scattered, surprised and compromised basically anywhere. They hadnt the kind of structural command and communication chain you would normally want. So the EMP did less harm to the already scattered and still disorganized US-Army. Whereas the Russians hit that EMP harder than the Berlin walls "Todesstreifen"

I always found it funny that Red Dawn at least attempted to come up with a plausible Soviet invasion, i.e. across the Bering Strait into Alaska and up via Mexico. Whereas this game went for teleporting across the North Atlantic to avoid being seen by the entirety of NATO.
There was an officer on YT talking about hacks caused by Russian operatives on electrical grids in Ukraine prior to the war. This sort of phantom bogey hacking could very well happen, especially with drones being put into production nowadays.
