Element Enduro Trailwalker - Upgrade Series - High Clearance Links and Front Associated Red Springs
Vložit
- čas přidán 17. 08. 2020
- In this part of my Element Trailwalker upgrade series, I'll be adding high clearance links to the rear as well as softening up the front suspension using the Associated Red Springs rated at 3.90.
NOTE! - If you have the shocks leaned forward or allow more compression than stock, you will need to switch the links to have the bend at the axle!

Dude! I just recently found your channel and love your videos. Every time I watch one, I get the feeling like you are the cool brother that I never had. I just recently bought the Enduro Builder's kit and am slowly getting it all together and your videos have given me some good ideas for upgrades I want to eventually put into mine. Thanks for posting these.
Awesome! Thank you! I still have a Enduro Builder's kit series that I need to do!
Just got mine can’t wait to try them
They're pretty good quality. Work pretty well!
Yeah, I agree. The bend in the links looks like it will work better installed at the skid. Too much driveshaft exposed the other way. Too bad the chassis brace doesn't work. In mine I really liked the looks of it and it did a great job to stiffen the chassis.
Yup, I'd hate the thought of a rotating driveshaft carving itself against a rock. Regarding the chassis brace... just an excuse for me to design my own! When I finish it, I'll share it on Thingiverse.
@@RevolutionX awesome thanks! I'm still slowly trying to learn Fushion!
I agree with your reason for putting the short end towards the skid. I would worry about grinding the driveshaft on rocks.
Yeah, I hate mangled up driveshafts, and it's a moving part so it only gets worse when it's rotating against a rock!
@@RevolutionX reminds me... I wonder if MIP or junfac offer shafts for these?
@@RandomStuffGarage619 junfac makes a set, and they're universals rather than CVDs. I have a set that I've been saving for the kit build.
Great information and upgrades,great video.
Thanks man! Time to get it out for a run!
Keep up the good videos , about time for a bigger work bench tho !
Bigger bench = bigger mess lol
He does great with his space management. I have a bench that runs along the side of my garage and its covered in unfinished projects and junk lol
@@RandomStuffGarage619 I just prefer a more open table when I'm doing my work.
Oh, I'm waaaay overdue for a bigger workbench! It's these small Irvine, CA boxes we live in. As it is right now, I've got nowhere else to work in the house. Trying to clear out a room and maybe... just maybe I'll get a corner in that room to use for R/C stuff :) That's if the wife is ok with it LOL!
@@thereviewguy5598 haha so do I but even with a bigger bench than soze's, I end up having the same cramped working area lol
@@RevolutionX yeah CA boxes in general... I wish we had basements!
why did you choose to use the Club5 Racing Hi Clearance Links instead of the Associated brand? part #42045 ?
Traxxas style Rod-ends and metal pivot balls included.
To be honest, I think the FT links when you add it all up are more expensive. Unless you only get the lowers. I do like their black coating tho.
You installed them backwards the short end is supposed to attach to the axle the long end to the frame, the element RC channel on CZcams hasn't install video
Old video, but yeah I already switched it around. As far as backwards, yes normally it's backwards... but technically you can install them either direction depending on what clearances you need with your links.
Would it be possible to install the upper links in the reverse orientation in order to retain the frame crossmember?
Yes! I've since switched it to the other orientation. Just do whatever fits your needs.
Oh i need this
Yup.... I can't believe I waited so long to do this to my Trailwalker and Sendero!
Where do you find the 3D printed parts to stiffen the chassis and shock towers?
I have the links in my description to Thingiverse. If you have access to a 3D printer you can just download those files and print them.
Are the club5 high clearance links for trailwalker or trailrunner?
They have both. They have a full set for the Sendero and Trailwalker and a rear only set for the Trailrunner. I am using the Trailrunner set, because my Trailwalker has the IFS front installed just like the Trailrunner.
Whatcha drinkin there bud? I love a nice beverage while I wrench.
Great work on this truck.
Oh and I used the ascender fuel cell in the back to brace mine haha snugs right between the shock towers.
Your shocks leak? I noticed a bit on mine too. What weight do you use?
I think I will try 35.
Just tea. It's been hot here lately! So some of them leak, and some of them don't between my Sendero and Trailwalker. I'm using 35 on my Sendero, but the Trailwalker is still using stock oil as I haven't taken them apart yet to service them. I'll probably get around to it soon and also green slime the o-rings after my next run with it.
@@RevolutionX yeah I havent pulled the one off to check the source. Green slime would be smart.
Nothing wrong with tea! I love southern sweet tea, even though its way too much sugar haha
I need to do a new vid with a beverage shout out lol did it a couple times with the kyosho.
@@RandomStuffGarage619 Oh yeah, I finally got my Outlaw Rampage Pro last week! LOL more than half a year's wait!
@@RevolutionX YUUSSSSS!!!!!! Looking forward to seeing what you think... Shes a squirrely one!
Greetings, how does this help my trailwalker since the factory ones come out of the screw
These rod-ends are much better in plastic quality than the factory ones.
@@RevolutionX Which set model is the one I need for my trailwalker and where can I buy it?

@@joelperez5797 It's the same one as the Enduro Sendero. It's the same chassis. I only bought the Trailrunner set because I have IFS installed on my Trailwalker. Otherwise, you use the full set that the Element Sendero uses. ebay.to/2QznVah
