Most of the rapids are so completely washed out at this level that there is nothing to them except a long wave train. Split Rock Rapids is generally the same at every flow. Volume just makes the features bigger. This is kind of the appeal of the Snake Rapids section; each one can be so different under different conditions, that it is always interesting and challenging no matter what.
The flow was 125 m3/sec. At this level Palmer Rapids has all the rocks on the left covered. At 20-40 m3/sec you would be forced to the right hand side of the river. One of the great things is every weekend the water is at a different level and each rapid slightly different
