Hiya Greg, cool old building, when I heard the hiss I knew exactly what it was 😂, we have them here, and they use too go up in our hay barn when I was a kid. And they stink. I hope you have a awesome blessed day. Cya! 😺🐟 out!
I had no idea what I would find up there. I was kinda worried that it was a bear that made the big hole in the floor, but it didn't sound like any bear I have heard before. We never had birds other than sparrows and pigeons in our barn. Sure surprised me when the mother bird flew out. lol
I put a new roof on it a few years ago and then closed it up. it will be a project for somebody else who wants an off grid place 30 minutes from Toronto. ;-)
Turkey Vultures just started nesting in our area versus traveling through to other nesting places after a massive clean-up of the rivers and wetland areas. Now we consider it Good Luck if they use our sheds and garages to nest in. I'm sure not everyone feels that way but most do. Turkey Vultures are my favorite large bird, then the white pelicans, which have also started migrating through and some now stay. Nature is so awesome and resilient.
BRILLIANT! And.. here I am.. like its a "cryptid" hunt video.. going "LOOK UP MAN! WHY ARENT YOU LOOKING UP!!!!??" Scared to see you taken out by a Rake or Wendigo... Freak me out man! Bravo, looks like a fun clean up and sturdy place. Blessing to the builders.
Well you just never know who drops in when your gone for awhile. Lol. Like you say say it wasn’t a bear. Turkey vulture are cool but sure ugly thanks for the short adventure
Almost surely Porcupines. Looks to me like they have taken up residence there .. along with the Vulchers. Hopefully, momma survived the window. Nice old Log Cabin though. Well worth fixing up IMO.
I close up the floor with plywood. I will wait for the birds to mature and then board up the window. The cabin will be someone else's project. I am about to sell the place
It saddens me to see such damage to a really cool old cabin ! I hope you can get it restored and make more use of it for yourself !!! You're kind to leave the chick's be, but eww, what a stinky MESS that must be !!!😮
And not a twitch in the camera operation, when the bird startled the crap out of us! 😳 As soon as I saw the cabin I thought of a Tom Waits song called What’s he building in there?
It’s odd they prefer to get in an attic or upper floor of old houses to raise their young. They are nasty too and can projectile puke on you if you mess with then enough.
@@meMiner hey they really exist and it’s not a joke. I have seen them for myself. I fed one for a period of about five months last year. I’m waiting for him to start coming back again.
😂 wow that vulture made me jump out of my skin. I wasn’t expecting to see that go through the window. Wow.😂😂😂😂
It surprised me too. lol
🤣same here🤣

Sweet little Chicken Coop...funny looking chickens! LOL
Old building looks solid, just needs some work and tlc! Waiting on your next adventure!!!Thanks!!!

You are so lucky, thanks for sharing.
We had porcupines gnawing on the front door, and even gnawing on an old cast aluminum skillet used to feed the dog, at our camp in Northern Vermont.
And I have to keep my dogs away from porcupines. Darn things will eat almost anything
@@meMiner They love Bakelite knobs on bulldozers, they get salt from sweaty hands off of them.
Whoa! Scared me! They sound like a rattle snake on the video, but you probably don't have them around there. Talk about suspense! 😮
We have rattle snakes here but they are uncommon
Wow, thanks for sharing! What a neat find!😂😂😂
Glad to see you're doing well my man.
Wow!!!! Now that my heart rate has decreased 😂. Thanks for sharing, watching from tropical North Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
I was unsure what to expect. They make an awful sound. lol

I was nervous. lol
@@meMiner You totally come off solid as a rock! Bravo. Love you man, thanks for sharing!
Awesome video😂 and hope your doing well
Yes, Turkey vultures.
I think so too. ;-)
Turkey Vultures ... Awesome !!
Spooked the Jasper right out of me!!!
Wow! I would have passed out.
That was a suprise! Yikes.
Beautiful cabin. I would have bought it.
But 30 min from Toronto means... too close to Toronto. 😁
xoxo
Outside Port Perry. 5.5 acres on the edge of conservation land and the other side is farm. Unique property

I wonder if a bear was there during the winter? A big hole in the floor. lol
Very cool !!
Gawd that made me jump!.
you and me both

Didn't smell awful but they sure made a mess and I will need a mask before sweeping it up.
@@meMiner I don't envy you . Be safe!
Whatever it is, it's a menace.
true that
And not a twitch in the camera operation, when the bird startled
the crap out of us! 😳
As soon as I saw the cabin I thought of a Tom Waits song called
What’s he building in there?
That would be a good soundtrack for a walk around of the cabin. lol
That thing sounded like a cat hissing!
Look like it needs a bit of TLC, 😉
Wow.
Lucky you! Think of all the fertilizer if you start a garden?
You want the guana? I will let you take it all. lol
To far to ship by air. Thanks though!!
cool beans
Looks like vultures. 😮
I find it hard to believe that it chewed up the floor and ceiling??
LOL !!!!!!
Hey chief quick question:
What's NOT squatting in you cabin ?
homeless people haven't moved in lol
maybe a vulture but not a turkey vulture, they have red bald heads. At least the ones on Vancouver Island and down the coast.
I didn't see a red head either
It’s odd they prefer to get in an attic or upper floor of old houses to raise their young. They are nasty too and can projectile puke on you if you mess with then enough.
Sounds like a horror show. lol
dirty bird
Don't you watch horror movies?
