As a cowboys fan, i hated Odell for years. But i met him in person this year and he is such a good guy and so respectful it changed my mind. He is a real human and cares about people, no matter who you are.
W
Lol tons of women thought Ted Bundy was charming too.
@@williamhermann6635 what did he do that i missed?
@@williamhermann6635 shut up
@@cowboysparsons1150 My point was that somebody being nice to you for a short time doesnt mean anything. The guy has made a career out of acting like a child.
😂😂 "They all suck man" .. Ocho was hilarious
😂😂
the only place i see him succeeding at is with the Rams, he needs an Eli Manning/Stafford gunslinger that wants to throw the ball in tight coverage and isnt afraid of having an int or 2
He just needs a quarterback who understands him, obj is a savant, he’s always been an elite route runner and has always had an elite mindset when it comes to getting open, the reason him and eli clicked so well is cuz eli understood obj is going to get open whether it’s from him changing up the route a little bit to find a blind spot or just straight up out skilling someone, baker never understood that which is the exact reason the baker slander is unwarranted, baker got obj when he was only 2 years in the league meanwhile eli already had over a decade with 2 Super Bowls and arguably already a hall of fame career, baker didn’t trust obj to improvise on routes where as stafford and Manning do because they r older and have been in the game a long time, obj ain’t the type of guy u give to a young guy who been in the league for a minute, u give him to a guy who has been around for a decade and undertands the ins and outs of nfl football
I think he’d do well with Matt Ryan
@@ballsballsballs3617 the issue obj had in cleveland was that Kevin stefanski is an awful coach who can’t coach around players. He has a set system, and believes it’ll work despite the players, not because of them. That’s where the issue was

As a Giants fan, I didn't appreciate OBJ throwing Eli under the bus, but now with hindsight, he was right about Gettleman and us being a dumpster fire. He was one of the few bright spots for us in the last years of the Eli era. I hope he comes back strong.
As a giants fan I saw that interview and of course leave it to the media to twist what he said. from what i heard in the interview he said we were not taking enough shots down field which in 2018. we were not at all. it was mainly slants and check downs to Barkely. he said Eli is not gonna leave the pocket which he's not so we needed to change the plays and just bomb it fuck what happens. which litterly after that interview in the panthers game we started taking shots down field and almost won. i get that having lil Wayne there and it being odell they would twist what he said but when Arron rogers or tom Brady calls out ppl its not a problem.
@@coolj4000 That Panthers game aggravated me so much. That was the game where the refs gave the Panthers 5 downs on the final field goal drive that Gano drilled from a mile away.
@@zmr3352 I don't care what no one say I saw CC not get the first down and cam spike it on 4th down with my own damn eyes. they sabotaged us that game cause they wanted it to fit the narrative that Odell was the cause of us being bad in 2018 cause right after that game we had the Thursday night meltdown against the eagles where Odell, is raging on the sideline cause the team gave up you could see it in there faces the defense didn't want to play for pat shurmar, anymore. and don't get me started on the Monday night game against the falcons, where we wasted all our timeouts on bullshit and scored with only 10 seconds left and I'm not gonna lie Eli, running 2 qb sneaks and wasting more time instead of giving the ball to Barkley, or throwing it into the end zone which Odell, scored anyways pissed me the fuck off.
I loved Odell in Cleveland. I want what's best for him, it just sucks the way it went down.
Wasn’t him or baker fault, just poorly run franchise in all honesty, both r very talented, obj reminded everyone last year and baker gonna remind everyone this year

I was Odell’s biggest fan, it felt like, when he played for the Giants. The media tried to paint a diva out of him. The spotlight was always on him. They wanted to see him fail. He was unlike anything the Giants have ever had and probably will ever have. I’m so happy he finally got the ring he deserved, especially since he finally proved everyone wrong.
Amani Toomer was better than O'Dell and wasn't in the media as much
@@trethetree bro stop he was the number 2 to plaxico Burris. plus when plax shot himself in 2008 and we had the best record going into the playoffs the man chocked against the eagles of all teams and we lost with a record of 12-4 how?????
Dude is 100% a diva. A spoiled ass prima donna.
I don't usually like diva personalities but OBJ has some innate likeability for me and there's no question he has been treated extremely unfairly by the football media. I was happy for him that he got his ring (altlhough it was for the damn Rams).
God I love this channel. Every video is so well crafted
Truth be told, I think we all agree it's great OBJ finally got his ring instead of wasting his entire career on mediocre to bad teams like so many talented WR's before him who never got a shot.
He is mediocre.
Eli Manning made OBJ
I was one of the few Giants fans happy that he was traded. His polarizing personality combined with the NY media was a recipe for distraction, and that wasn't what they needed as a team going through a deep rebuild. I didn't know what to think about him in Cleveland, but once he got to LA, he became good again in my book. Happy to see any former Giant get a ring. Still hate Jalen Ramsey, though
@@x3ln0ng1d7 no u r not a true giant fan… every giant fan knew obj was not the issue cuz a true giant fan isn’t going to be swayed by media bullshit like u obviously we’re, yes obj was a little immature as expected when he was with New York, but fact that every single teammate obj has ever played with can’t say a single bad thing about him while David gettleman has been proven as a horrible business man and GM who made some of the worst decisions in recent nfl history has been proven says more then enough, he was never a distraction and was never a cancer if u still think that u need to do some research instead of watching skip bayless and Stephen A as ur only sports analysis😂

I prefer KTO but he is a close second, then flemlo at 3rd.
Two videos from you within a week??? I’m here for it. I’ve been dying for content from you bro
I like these kinds of videos. Keep it up STE!
I think what helped OBJ on the Rams was that he didn't go into a situation where people expected him to be THE #1 receiver he still is a great football player and prove that he can be on a championship team but just needs a buddy
Always happy to see an upload from you! Your videos are always enjoyable!
I just started watching your videos yesterday, and was already impressed by the older Kendrick instrumental (I think it was ‘Rigamortus’).
When ‘Never Catch Me’ faded in @3:58 I was stun-locked for a few. The content is excellent on its own, the music just gives it another layer of greatness. Looking forward to what you have to come.
I see you with the Saint Pablo beat at 11 minutes. Nice video Set The Edge and happy football season!!
I noticed that too haha
All the beats he used in this vid were banging songs, I kept listening to them instead of the video by accident
Yeah same and also Thuggin by Freddie Gibbs 👌
Love the beats you put in the backgrounds of all your videos, back to back Kendrick beats on your past 2 vids was dope👍👍
scrolled thru the comments to see if anyone else noticed 🫶🫶
what is the beat at 4:00?
I hope he recovers 100% and is able to sign with a new team. Would be dope to see him on these teams:
Ravens
Raiders
Patriots
Packers
49ers
Ravens would be great if he's healthy by Week 10. He'd get a shot at Baker in Week 11 and a trip to Cleveland in Week 15. Only issue is if he and Humphrey are good after the 2019 fight.
well, you were right hahah
Your background music choice is exquisite
I still can't believe that the net wasn't suspended for that unsportsmanlike comduct
As a Giants fan, it was the cruelest April Fool's joke that we traded someone somehow as franchise-defining as our QB. Whether you wanted to ride out the career of Eli Manning or turn the page to a new QB, I didn't see the sense in trading OBJ, even with the massive haul we got for him. I was more of a football layperson at the time, but even from my eyes it was obvious what kind of positive impact he had on the field, and if anything, I found the off-field stuff kind of charming. He was a little crazy but clearly passionate. It showed in the practices before each game too. And unlike many other stars at the time, while there were contract debates being reported, he didn't hold out. He wanted to be part of the team. He continued to go to the practices and camps.
And for as much as the talking heads and outside media loved to spin such a narrative that portrays him as a selfish player, most reports you heard from his actual teammates spoke highly of him, that many in the Giants locker room looked up to him as a leader, and even in the Browns organization they respected his game.
Not that I'm any good at it yet but it's why I wanted to learn how to watch WR film, because many actual analysts (the ones who's job it is to grade and watch film, not just come up with narratives) actually often came to the conclusion that "OBJ isn't being targeted enough", based on the concepts he ran and how well he did on those reps. On the Browns, he often ran routes that were specifically designed to draw coverage attention to open up someone else, and when he should get the ball, it seemed like the QB never gets to that part of the read.
Which is what made the Rams chapter so satisfying to me. While it was a slow start, eventually everything I learned from those people and what I saw as a Giants fan come back through, even despite him no longer being necessarily the main feature. And I'll admit, I spammed some chatrooms with "OBJ was the problem" memes every time OBJ made a big play out of pettiness, cus so many people had bought into that. I think even after his injury during the Super Bowl, his presence (or now lack thereof) was felt immediately and heavily: I distinctly remember Van Jefferson getting targeted on two routes, playing the exact same role OBJ did on two big plays before he got hurt, and instead of being big plays again, it was a clearly lost 50-50 ball and what looked like an arm punt from Stafford on the other. It was a direct comparison between what a great receiver can do versus someone not quite on his level (and certainly hope for Jefferson to develop into something).
Which finally brings me to the elephant in the room with his QBs. I won't claim to know what went on schematically with Eli since I was a much younger football watcher at the time, but it really felt night and day what OBJ was able to do with Stafford instead of Mayfield. Once I learned a bit more from some other channels about the kinds of routes he ran, it was frustrating now knowing that Mayfield didn't complete his reads as often as Stafford did, which is a huge driver for why OBJ's production was so different in those situations, and why the narrative with all the tape-watchers was "Actually, OBJ doesn't get targeted enough", even though the opposite narrative was being spun in the mainstream.
As soon as I could, I bought OBJ's LSU jersey to go with my Giants OBJ jersey, since I couldn't find a Rams one for the Super Bowl. After the victory, I got two Rams OBJ Super Bowl Jerseys as well. Honestly, I want to get a Browns OBJ jersey to complete the collection. He's always gonna be a superstar in my eyes, and while I deeply miss him on the Giants, I'm going to keep rooting for him regardless.
For a so-called "diva receiver", Odell doesn't have a criminal history (I'm not aware of any). The media acts as if he's an AB clone.
I love the thuggin' instrumental as a background it adds to the tone of the video really well in a way I can't totally describe. Great video
Odell belongs in LA, I hope he re-signs with the Rams so bad
I literally discovered the NFL (in France) thanks to OBJ. And now I am totally addicted to the game, so he will always be number one for me. I even ended up hanging a signed jersey above my desk ( yeah... there's a non zero chance that it is a fake 😅)

Been a giants fan my whole life and when obj came into the league he got an insane amount of hate towards him all the way up until this past year when he joined the rams, mfs switch up so quick whether it’s from “he’s top 3” to “he’s washed” or “only one good catch” whatever u wanna say it won’t take away from the fact that when he was in his prime from 2014-17 he was a top 3 receiver in the league and was arguably the most explosive player in the league right there with Antonio brown (arguably one of the greatest wide receivers to play) he has been real since the day he entered the league which is probably the biggest reason he became the biggest nfl athlete social media has ever seen, he genuine asf, he sexy asf, and when he was in his prime form he ur favorite receivers favorite receiver, it blows my mind that now almost at the age of 30 everyone trying to give him his flowers after spending years slandering him, and for most all the way up until this past season until he proved everyone wrong on the rams. Everyone so damn quick to forget bro, u wouldn’t have Jamarr chase, Justin Jefferson, or any of ur favorite young receivers without obj paving the way
And before anyone comments back saying some ignornat shit like I’ve already seen in this comment section, check the stats from 2014-2017, check the amount of tds, the amount of yards, the amount of 20+ yards receptions, the amount of YAC, like bro u can look at any stat u want from obj prime, he was one of the most complete wide receivers we’ve seen in his prime years, go up over u or take a slant 69 yards for a td

Odell had 154 yards and 3 TDs against Dallas with the Browns in 2020
That end around was such a bad call. Man bailed stefanski out big time that game.

Your background music is unmatched good sir
Outstanding job.
I feel like we tend to forget how these superstars are brought up. Imagine you been a superstar all throughout highschool and college and at 21/22 someone hands you a big pile of cash, while you become one of the most famous people in the city. Not saying we should feel bad, just saying these people are humans too.
That Skip Bayless edit was amazing. Still can't believe that clown has a job lmao

Great video! Used to think obj was a goofy, but in reality dude was just having fun and a player maker. The catch jusy Made him#1 enemy

Scattered rumors. That was rough
I'm just happy he got his ring. For all the hate he got for the dumbest shit, the one thing I couldn't stand is ppl acting like his talent and devotion to the game wasn't elite. I mean the man graduated with a degree in physiology just so that he could understand the human body better and how to activate and strengthen different muscles. But heaven forbid we ever praise a "diva" for their intelligence. Baker was the problem in Cleveland and them being willing to pay Deshaun Watson of all ppl proves that, whether u live in denial or not. Odell's postseason run along with that potential Super Bowl MVP more than supports the claim that he is still worth it to pursue. And I just hope he can stay healthy for the rest of his career and put up numbers deserving of the Hall. Just to piss off all his haters even more.
easily one of my favorite football players!!!

One thing that no analysis on Odell talks about is how handsome he is. I know as dudes, it's really hard to know when a guy is good looking and we only really go with what other people say, but I think it's very clear that Odell took media spotlight because not only was he an amazing athlete, he had a moviestar look and style. That's probably a huge contributor to the almost People magazine level gossip he was essentially a part of.
Ya ur right lot of ppl don’t want 2 admit it but that’s a big part of it. Women love him and know NOTHING about fball lol
His looks are a big part of the reason he’s so likable, you could literally stare at the man all day and not get tired, just appreciating Gods creation. And that’s men and women, even if a dude is straight he’s still human and all humans appreciate a body that’s simply well made.
You forgot the part where Lebron tweeted that Odell needed to be freed. Odell literally got a royal pardon
Lebrons a clown

Odell is straight with me, he's helped me win a couple fantasy leagues over the years.

He has to go back to where it started to become fully intact with his 6th sense and become a wide receiver deity. He has to go back where it all stated and has to finish off the kicking net, the final boss.
definitely one of the most Iconic Recievers in the 2010's
This guy in my league drafted him in the 4th round
He's alive
Never hated the guy despite all the drama on the Giants, in fact I related to his hatred of losing because his play was carrying the team. Wish we never shipped him off, the Gettleman years left the Giants reeling for too long
He'll be back, but it's up to him what direction his career takes when he returns...
like I've been saying for years, Eli didnt get enough credit, he was better than we thought
Scattered rumours... 9/10 pun 😁
What’s the background music?
I remember watching the national championship with LSU vs Bama, the first time I saw 33(Odell) he stood out with only a few reps and it was clear he had high athletic talents.. the real truth about Odell is we never found out the real potential he had in the NFL. After his rookie season and 1 handed catch, I do believe his fame transcended his play on the field and it got to his head, who can blame him? But of course, that will lead him to be a little arrogant.. let’s not forget he trashed Eli for his woes always casting the blame... He has the talent bot he never reached that level.
The Cleveland steamer.
The Odell character arc is crazy. I spent years disliking him and thinking he’s a diva, and after this year I actually started to like him and he tore his ACL again. Sad story, but you have to respect what he did with the Rams, and how really good he was early on in his career.
One flaw, showing Dez at the start. Countless careless or irresponsible journalists totally mischaracterized him, like a derangement.
Here's the fact: Dez would get upset at ANY adversity. The QB getting sacked, someone fumbling, failure to convert. It was NOT, I repeat not, "Why didn't you throw to ME?" But every sportscaster watched him agitated and upset after an unsuccessful play and dishonestly said "Look at Dez being a crybaby because they didn't throw to him and he was open." Yes, Witten and Garrett's boys just went "Shut up, Dez." But only because he would keep fuming in his passion to win. No to be the star; to win. He's been really irresponsibly mischaracterized, mainly by inept sportscasters. And by everyone who jumped on the bandwagon, since Dez has the worst P.R. skills in history, and wouldn't defend himself or set the record straight.
To lump him in with a prima donna hot dog, "God's gift to the game", end zone prancing diva? Please.
Agreed! The only point of that clip was to introduce how much of an easy target passionate WRs are, which is why I used Dez.
@@SetTheEdge I appreciate your saying that. Dez is actually a surprisingly conscientious and sensitive person, was overwhelmingly dedicated to his team and the owner, and worked hard - very hard - maybe one of the best work ethics.
Which I understand may also apply to OBJ, that he doesn't coast on his fame and laurels, but rather is extremely hard working - at least I've been told.
2:44
Is OBJ on a team? Him as a #2 again would be dangerous! Even for the half a year he will play before injury. I hope he stays healthy, he is electric on the field.
He could’ve went down as one of the greatest receivers of all time if not for the injuries. He’s definitely gonna be the most known though.
Giants fan here. I will never understand what the big deal was with the boat photo. The Giants had the day off, he and his teammates chose to spend it in Miami, and they were all back when the coach told them to be back.
If people want to criticize him for the way he played against the Packers, that's fair. He played poorly. But I don't get why the trip and the photo get people riled up.
They were partying right before their playoff game instead of preparing. And then they lost. Badly. That’s why.
