Gotta give TF props as an actor. He comes in as himself, possibly worried that something might have gone wrong shortly before their show, and then as soon as he realizes there are cameras on him he goes right into character and starts cracking lame jokes as the Cardinal. Say what you will about him and Ghost, but the dude has a clear vision and mad talent.
No, this was clearly completely setup. You really think Tobias would cool with random people videotaping backstage? Very unlikely. I think his response would be a lot different. Not to mention, most artists don't have random, surprise backstage tours and Ghost is a way more mysterious band.

@@Kyprioth071 obviously this was set up beforehand, given that he’s mic’d up, but I don’t think he knew it was happening at this exact moment, and my reasoning for that is, when he first comes in and asks “what’s going on here?”, he’s speaking in his normal voice, not the “Ghost” voice. And then as soon as the guy says “oh we’re just giving a tour”, it seems to click to him that, “oh yeah they’re shooting a video” and you can hear him go into character. My comment wasn’t about how he didn’t know this was supposed to happen, more a compliment that he could go into character so quickly.
@@Kyprioth071 as an actor who goes to an actual theater to act, people film backstage all the time. its not uncommon. and the show was about to start, the mic is probably off but ofc he'd have it, hes about to be on stage

I still feel that Papa Emeritus III is my favorite lead from an aesthetic standpoint, but Cardinal Copia is just an absolute blast to be around. He's having fun knowing you're having fun.

I think the comedic/parody aspect of Ghost actually solidified my stance as a fan. Their music is undoubtedly killer. However, their dedication to their theme and characters is worthy of respect, in my honest opinion.

It blows my mind how used the other 2 guys are to the Cardinal and his shenanigans. They barely even break a smile, they're not even really amused and we're all just blown away by the slightest shift in character. I bet Tobias runs a tight ship from the looks of things. That or the guys are just really focused.

Tobias is like a different person when he uses that mask and costume. I use to watch his interview as Tobias. He is a cool, serious, and laid back person, but he becomes the opposite as cardinal copia.
