Didn’t really mention any of the things that make it cost so much like the professional dive computer, GPS, titanium body, crazy durability and water resistance, the distress beacon and more.
The thing that stoped me from buying Smartwatches is the battery life. Really don't wanna charge my watch every 1 or 2 days. Very happy with my G-Shock GBX 100 rn.
Now, knowing that it cost $800, I’m convinced that one of my teachers is rich. She bought her, her husband, her three kids, and her siblings Apple Watch Ultras and she is a art teacher😅 WOW

I get it, it’s Apple… but to those complaining about the high price for a watch… there are watches in the thousands and tens of thousands of USD range that are expensive only for their brand name and fancy materials/rare gems. $800 for a high quality, very functional daily driver smartwatch with biometrics ain’t bad when you compare it to a $3000 Rolex timepiece that barely tells the time, looks pretty, and you only wear once or twice a year.
I have been using Casio g shock that my father gifted for performing well in academics and it's still working like a charm after 5 years. It has gone through many things but it's still holding up well
It’s an insanely good watch that is probably gonna make a lot of athletes switch to it. Sure it costs a lot, but I’m becoming an audiophile so I have begun to understand that the best will usually cost the most.

I do know people who upgrade Samsung phones pretty frequently, but that’s with Samsung’s huge trade in deals. And at the end of the day, if you sell your used phone or trade it in for refurbishment, the old phone gets a second life and someone else gets to use it - personally I don’t see it as a huge problem either way
