csx derailment being cleaned at csx greenwich yard (6/16/2022)

  • The derailment occurred at 8:30 this morning from a bad order switch the train was rolling over the switch then the switch unlocked and set the other way then this train halfway through started to go on another track and it pulled two cars off the tracks and pulled the rail out of the ground it set until 530 then crews were on scene and started doing work The last car was put on the track at 9:30 at night trains were delayed until overhanging wires could be fixed

    Awesome video documenting the derailment! This was quite a surprise for us. I’m sure by now most the trains are on the move.

    Switch alignment is bad news. Call a signal maintainer!

    Looks like the switch got flipped positions in the middle of that last tank car.
    Edit: Or was it the first tank car, depending on which direction the train was moving?

      Are you asking how they did it without the sidebooms? Railroad cranes were used
