For those wondering, from what i know Harley Flanagan was accuse of touching a girl inappropriately. A man presumed to be her boyfriend pepper sprayed him. The two where kicked out and it was found that the girl had a billy club of sorts. Harley addressed the situation before their set, and cut his own set short due to the delay so that D.R.I. could preform their entire set.
I just read some articles, dispite the fact I was at the show I didn't get all the details. The girl and her boyfriend where part of 'Destroy Zine'. She did use the billy club on Harley. He also sustained a superficial cut. I did see him throwing away the zines table. But the owner of the club, D.R.I., and a retired cop all have the same story. The two from zine started shit and lied about sexual assault. There was a fight involving blades, pepper spray, and a Billy club. The zine was removed from the club. Many people besides Harley where maced. Keep in mind there was kids at the show. The zine lied, and put people in danger. Kids could have easily been hurt. The zine was wreckless and dangerous. Fuck Destroy Zine, and fuck that bitch. When you fucking cry wolf like that you make it harder for actual victims of sexual crimes to get justice.
Despite the pre-set bullshit from some kids who didn't understand where they were at, this whole show PUMMELED. Best Mags set I've seen in ages. Despite fucking my knee up, this was a total blast.
I don't think anyone has to "understand" suggestive comments from old men to have a problem with it. Unless anyone is denying outright that he said those things, I think anyone defending him needs a bit of a reality check. If you don't think he said it, that's a different story. I wasn't there but if I heard this man saying those things to a young woman/girl I would most definitely be saying something to him about it, right there on the spot. If I'm gonna get beat up for speaking out against creepiness, so be it. Fuck these egotistical old men.
A really cool zine had a merch table set up, but he didn’t like that those editor so he went to their merch table and flipped it, breaking their merch. So a fight broke out. If you believe Harley’s story, why was he at their merch table for the fight to start. Also who honestly believes some Twiggy zoomers picked a fight with Harley at his own show?
