few days ago i crashed into a fire hydrant and got the front of my classic 350 smashed. Recently bought another front mudguard but was thinking if i could make the change without taking the wheel of. Your video helped me a lot, thanks!
Oh no, sorry to hear that. I hope you're getting it sorted ok, the mudguard was a tight fit for sure, I'm lucky that I didn't have to take too much care as it was all scratched anyway. Let me know how you get on👍
as your going for whitwall, it would be great to hame a bergundy frame, that would be v special
I hadn't thought of that, will look at some pics 👍
Glyn, was thinking that you might be able to hold that pipe in place by using a couple of exhaust "U" bolts.
That is a good idea, I think I've got some in a box somewhere here 👍
THANKS matey! I emigrated to SE Asia some 6 months ago and bought a Halcyon Black 350....thanks for the info...very much appreciated. Incidentally, I hope the weather in glorious Wales is OK...it's 32 degrees here today, so I'm riding down through the countryside fir an afternoon swim in the ocean. The bike btw, looks gorgeous as the sun's setting.
32! Bloody hell, I bet you don't have to wear much gear. Are there many RE bikes out there?
Out late tonight. For once. Only time I stay out late, is when I go up north, to Ullapool.😂
So will head to bed to watch. Can’t comment on the tv.
Your bud, Wee Mark.😊
Hey Mark, was just watching your vid with the wooden logo. I really like that, am thinking about a bit on the bike now, maybe just a little bit of oak 👍 I found the ladies page and might get in touch🫶
This has been a seriously useful episode. I have been thinking of moving the pegs on my Meteor ever since I bought it.
This shows me everything I needed to see. Thanks.
Thanks Tim, the master cylinder is certainly the same and I *think* the pushrod is the same too, the clevis clip fitting certainly is. The hoses would be longer but I think that could be worked around rather than replacing. I think it would just be the cradle, right side hanger and new pedal & spring/shift lever. A place called Pirate Motorcycle Spares in Dorset have just dismantled one and may have all those 👍 actually, thinking about it now, the brake pedals may be the same?? I'll check on that
Just to add, I looked at them just now and the Meteor master cylinder rod is longer so may need a Classic 350 master or replacement rod

Health and safety by messers Heath & Robinson….😂
I'd just seen that lovely lift from Sealey and the one you sent a link to too! It's all nice and secure now though although I am going to hang it from the roof in an upcoming episode so maybe there's no hope😊
@@GlynOC oh dear…😂
Hi Glyn.
Just a thought, I think you should have tried fixing the forks while still on the bike and the bike still on the ground, undoing the pinch bolts on the yokes and see if you could realign the stanchions just to check if it is just out of alignment and headstock is still ok, good luck mate, cant fault your enthusiasm and positive attitude. Pete.
Thanks Pete, I wasn't able to see what was going on with them as they're hidden by those shrouds and you need to take the forks out to get the shrouds off so it was all chicken and egg! They're out now and just putting the video together about that so you'll see in a couple of days 👍 Thanks very much for watching, Glyn
Damn ! But that was just such good fun to watch. Do you talk for us or do you always chat to yourself?
I'm not sure now! I guess there must be something going on up there, I should probably expand it a bit 🫶
Am in Australia and so far could not find any wheeled platform dolly as robust looking as yours Where did yours come from and was it a designated furniture platform mover? Enjoy this rebuild series so am newly subscribed.
Hello, and Welcome. I think it was probably a caterers trolley base that they use for moving food containers in supermarkets and on deliveries etc. You usually find lots of them laying around out the back of venues and hotels and I probably 'borrowed' it late one night after an event to move some gear and it ended up on the van! The wheels are like flight case wheels which are quite strong, about 10-15 quid each 😊
Great videos! Now, you having both, Classic and Meteor wich one do you like the most? Acording to riding position and confort, and respond.
I haven't actually ridden a Classic because it was too badly damaged to even try so I've not ridden one, but I have sat on a few of course. The Meteor has an unusual position because it's feet forwards but low bars, I've never had a bike like it but it's not uncomfortable. I'm thinking the Classic will probably be better every day 👍
Magic!
What's your plan? Custum build? Would like to see a Trials bike with 18" rear en 21" wheel up front. Combined with some Heidenau K67 tires. Alu slim fenders etc.
Have you seen the trials bike build playlist on the Bike World channel? (There is an additional video from August 2023 called "Royal Enfield Meteor Trials Bike Build Final Video").
Hello, I kind of got off road tyres out of my system with the Meteor I just did and really wanted white walls so that's what this is having, and simplified to black, polished/chrome and old style paintwork of one kind or another. Thanks for watching, Glyn
Yes i did, but he took it way to far for normal use. Thanx for the tip.

You are going the oldscool way. That's nice. ill keep on watching@@GlynOC
Hi Glynn.
Great video 👍 Do you think a Meteor 350 rear mudgaurd would fit that bike ? Or maybe the original mudgaurd without the side stays. I am considering fotting side boxes, and those side stays would be in the way.
Keep up the good work. !
Hi David, yes they're the same bike really and you could use the Meteor back end on it no problem, would need the subframe too to hold up the Meteor mudguard though. Let me know if you want one!

Thanks for the reply Glynn 👍🙂
I will let you know how I get on with this project 🙂
Its MrT as you have a damaged classic I was wandering if u could do a favour check the type of bolt on the LH panel on the very bottom that holds the air box to the frame as I lost mine or someone unscrewed it ?? I got another stainless that i had i hand tightened but required a socket w handle to fully tighten which I only did couple of turns and took bolt out for inspection and noticed that the beginning of bolt thread were being flattened is the bolt at back of plate not fully threaded or a tappered hole usually a tappered hole come w tappered bolt so I would b grateful if you could examine the bolt that's on your bike and let me know or video the bolt its 16mm in length if u go to Hitchcock's site go to parts on line and go to panels section the bolt in question is no 20 its a M6×16 part No H6901020
16mm is a short bolt, you might be right that it's bottoming out, I'll go and have a look at it and let you know 👍
Glen, love the new project ! May I ask ...where did you buy the chain and sprokets for your Meteor 350? Thank you 😊
Thanks Martin. They were from M&P online in the UK although Hitchcocks have a similar price. They come in dark or gold, or you can go for slightly cheaper O-ring and OEM kits. I'm very impressed with how smooth the X-ring chain runs though, very silky👍
oo ah...was this bike fished out of a river?
Possibly!
@@GlynOC it´s a challenge but I´m sure that you´ll win!
Still putting out great vidios, love watching them especially when I've got the same bike, thanks a lot Glyn.
