The fact that the whispers flying around Aerith means Sephiroth has been stalking Cloud around because he's from the future and wants revenge for the PS1 and Advent Children where he got beaten up repeatedly
This actually serves as a contrast to make more sense in the following remake installment that things will not happen the way it is in the original plot. Otherwise this would be a pointless redundant plot insertion.
0:14 to 0:15 It's quick and a little subtle, but the way Aerith's eyes widen and her eyebrows raise isnt a look of, "Oh, he's cute", it's a look of recognition, she knows him, she was waiting right here for him, and there he is. I dont know if this is a repeated timeline, an alternate universe, or something taking place entirely within the lifestream after everyone has died, but this is definitely the Aerith from the original game who remembers everything.
I think Sephiroth was trying to delay cloud so he would just miss aerith on loveless street. But then the fates intervene to keep aerith there and, again, to drive her away when her and cloud’s conversation was going on longer than in the OG. But i do agree that aerith probably recognizes cloud, which gives much more meaning to what she says to him when she gives him the flower for free
@@gunghocgI agree with this, and Rebirth basically confirms that she could see the future at this point. She knows who Cloud is, and what he will eventually mean to her. So yes, lovers were finally "reunited" in this very moment.

Pretty convinced both Aerith and Sephiroth are trying to change the timeline. Note that in the original Aerith simply offers him the flower and promptly fucks off, whereas here she's trying to stay, which is why the ghosts get all up in her shit.
The ghosts stick around to remove the memories she has of what's to come, but go away once Cloud comes around to do what they did in OG, and then again to get Aerith out of there. They're around here because she has future memories in her to some extent.
@@nohemi6899 She has premonitions, she might not have 100% recollection of what was to come, but given that her eyes opened wide when she saw Cloud i got the impression that she only gets snippets once she lays eyes on or hear about something that might happen (like when she hears that the plate might drop too, she displayed no knowledge of that prior to hearing about it).
So she might have gotten flashes of possible futures with Cloud the moment she saw him, but prior to it had no knowledge of him whatsoever. And given her look of chock and that she made an effort to try and stay and talk to him, i'd say she indeed got to see the fact that she'll end up falling in love with him.....
This is independant of what Clouds personal feelings for her is, canonically both women have now expressed romantic intrest in Cloud, while Clouds feelings have always been kept deliberatly vauge enough in all main story sequences. Despite what alot of shippers on either side claim, neither/both are canon.

I doubt they'll solve it in pt 3, i think they'll keep it vauge, but i'd honestly be fine with either of the women, i like them both and love how different Cloud acts around them, it just makes it feel real.

After playing Rebirth, I'm 100 percent convinced that Aerith had the memories of what happened in OG, at least until the whispers took them away, which is what she mentioned to Tifa in Kalm and Red in Costa del Sol. That's why she specifically mentioned that "lovers used to give these to each other when they reunited."
To Aerith, this was a reunion of sorts, given her knowledge of the OG. (Shipping wars can fight over the term "lovers".)

There is nothing to ship because Aeirith is attracted to Zack and she sees him in Cloud, who is, as we all know, not himself. It's like that in original. Once Cloud finds himelf he is balls deep for Tifa.

Even so, his looks, voice and personality weren't similar and he also made her think of him as a mysterious person... But it soon didn't matter. She loved him much more than her first love. Cloud was her hero and he couldn’t get away from danger. She saw him as someone full of confidence, cool and had the impression that he would disappear in an instant if she took her eyes off him. She wanted to stay by his side forever if she could. She really wanted to.

Really beautiful appearance of Aerith here! Square Enix made a really good job at the remake, adding more stuff on the already amazing story of FF7.
Gotta be honest: after seeing the awful remaster of GTA Trilogy Remastered, I had less faith in remakes. But this one really made me feel like playing the original again, with some adds to the plot.
And he gives the flower to Tifa…how cute !
And when he interacts with the flower he gave Tifa, he thinks of Aerith. Then, in Tifa's cutscene, she realizes Aerith gave Cloud the flower and that he's changed.
It all comes full circle! The flower represents Aerith, always has.
On the way to Shinra to save Aerith, Leslie laments about his lost love and the flower necklace she left him. Tifa, while giving Cloud a meaningful look, tells Leslie to not lose hope and that the flower is a symbol of reunion - that they will meet again…
This was after the Tifa resolution scene where Tifa realizes the flower Cloud gave was from Aerith..

What kinda course do they have to watch over for? So something has happened before and they have to make sure it happens AGAIN? @@equinox8698 Incredibly disappointed. They brought out the big guns early and it's going to make anywhere they go feel anticlimactic. There is zero tension in this game. It's eye candy and fanservice and honestly, to me, the FF franchise has been decaying for a while because of that very emphasis. I miss the FFVI - FFIX era. Some of the graphics might have been more "charming" (the cutscenes were still a breakthrough for their time) but they seemed so much more invested in creating coherent worlds and telling good stories (well).

In the German sub Aerith doesn't actually say that the flower is connected to lovers. All she says is that it symbolises reunion.

@Tiberius Actually,they`re a new addition to the Remake called "Whispers".Red XIII explains what they are and why they matter to The Game`s lore as well as why they surround Sephiroth and Aerith later.
The "clones" are just normal people in robes like in The Original. The difference is whereas Cloud was the only Clone with a name in the Original,in The Remake there`s another named Marco who`s Tifa`s neighbor.
Aerith is introduced (reintroduced) to us in this scene: She gives him the flower, mentions "lovers give it when they reuinte", Cloud then gives it to Tifa the first time she's introduced in this game aswell.
Huh, took me 4 years to notice the jab at the "love triangle" and the tounge and cheek fact that we are now seeing these characters again, we are "reunited" with them.
Ship whoever you like, i'm willing to wager they're never going to solve it for us guys, so both are canon :)

Why she not called Aeris?
It was wrong translation from japanese to english, in japan they have no -th they pronounsed it Aerusu. So in english they modeled it to Aeris. But its Aerith after all.

It was always Aerith, it's just in the 90's a lot of bad translations appeared in games when localizing from Japan. Different times.
@@alexandrakn4343 wrong, in Japanese version it's アエリス(A-e-ri-su) Aerisu and from there it went to Aeris and then Aerith, tho its still Aerisu in japan

It's エアリス in Japanese, so EARISU.
Her name is based on the English word "Earth".
"Aeris" was not completely wrong, but it was just not the most accurate translation. "Aerith" is better and more accurate and that's why it was corrected.
So can we just appreciate that in the OG, their first meeting goes a bit like this;
Aerith - "S'cuse me, what's happening?"
Cloud - "Go away."
Aerith - "K, bye."
