Betty's Orange Sherbert

- 1 package of (0.22 oz)unsweetened Kool-Aid mix any flavor/color
1 cup sugar or any other sweetener, I used splenda
12 fl oz can of evaporated milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract(optional)
In a large bowl, whisk together all three of the ingredients until the sugar and Kool-Aid mix is completely dissolved.
Next, pour the mixture into a freezable dish, cover and then place it in the freezer , and let it freeze for a few hours or overnight.
When you are ready to enjoy, set the sherbet out for about 10 t0 20 minutes prior to serving to make it easier to scoop.
Serve and enjoy!

I just found your channel and I was curious about this recipe, so I tried it. And it is sooo yummy 😋. I made it exactly how you ladies did. I used Splenda too because I made it for my uncle who is elderly and a diabetic. And he loved it. I actually used a hand mixer to mix this up and it made the sherbet light and fluffy. I can't wait to try making other flavors throughout the summer. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

My mom loves to whisk the evaporated milk so it gets fluffier and then she folds it into the sugar mix she thinks it makes the sherbert lighter and less dense

I love Tang ! However, it is sweetened. You’d have to adjust, but it would prob work.
I’m confused. Splenda, by design, is 600x sweeter than regular sugar. If you replace a cup of sugar with Splenda, SURELY you wouldn’t use a CUP of Splenda?? 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
I think the equivalent of a cup is what you'd want to use. Might not hurt to go slightly under that amount and add more to your taste.

Allulose (sp?) sweetener apparently makes it easy to scoop. I made cottage cheese ice cream

This recipe is something like (Ice Milk).
Nice! Hubby and I are both diabetic but since we don’t eat a lot of that sort of thing when we do we get the version with sugar. Anything in moderation I guess. But it does look good!!
