The Best Colonial City in Central America - Granada, Nicaragua

  • I came to Granada because I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to the tree house rave every Friday. I spent my first few nights asking around to see if it was worth it because I am not big on the party, but this one did seem pretty cool. I decided I wanted to buy the tickets Wednesday night which sadly was too late because the only tickets left were the 8pm - 3am shuttle which I heard sucks because it is nice to see the tree house and the view at sunset to it just wasn't worth it. I met some great people but also some people I don't like (Parents giving me lessons on how solo travel is dangerous while they are 12 drinks in). Although Granada was a beautiful city I could see myself staying longer because it is probably my favourite colonial city I've been to just because there are not too many tourists there so it feels a lot more genuine than Antigua Guatemala. Central America does have some really nice cities but they are often much smaller than the Capital which you should avoid in almost every Central American country just because there is not much to do there and it often has a higher crime rate.
