Adventure Style - Vintage Style Outfits for Travel, Safari, & Exploration

- I present to you my favorite style in the summer time, that's right, it's adventure style! Safari style, adventure wear, whatever you call it, I call it a darn cute look. So enjoy this excess of khaki and cotton twill and I can finally move onto my next adventure!
The script at the very beginning is from the radio loop played outside of the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland :)
It was a wild ride indeed, but the video is finally done. Two weeks of entire days spent making faux wooden crates, over $100 dollars spent on craft paint alone, four hours to film the final footage, and thirteen hours of editing and script writing, and here we are. I need a nap :)
It would mean extra special much to me if those of you who enjoyed this video could share it with someone else you think may like it as well.
I will put this in a pinned comment as well, but I also want to suggest that any of those in a place to do so please consider donating to Unicef and/or Save The Children to help with their ongoing and emergency work in Sudan. Stay aware of the goings on in our wide world, please practice empathy, and stay safe out there.
Music from Epidemic Sound. The songs are: Egypt Calling by Sight of Wonders, Searching Through Sand by Deskant, Souvenirs from Africa by Sight of Wonders, Spirit of the Savannah by Sahara Skylight and Dreamless Nights by The New Fools.
River footage from Taman Negara on flickr, www.flickr.com/photos/phalinn...
All of the clothing in this video is either made by me, vintage/thrifted, or in rarest of cases from fast fashion brands I no longer support and is therefore many seasons old.
I can however, link you to some of the shoes I wear in this video:
The first pair in canvas and leather are Evelyn's from Royal Vintage Shoes and can be found here : www.royalvintageshoes.com/193...
Next we have Garnet's from Remix Vintage Shoes in black suede : remixvintageshoes.com/product...
Then the style Peggy from Royal Vintage again : (currently unavailable but I think they might bring them back)
The brown croc finished pumps are Carmen's from Remix : remixvintageshoes.com/product...
The yellow heels are from Chelsea Crew : bit.ly/2x8fVmK
The cognac leather sandal heels are from BAIT footwear : www.baitfootwear.com/product-...
The navy and ivory t-straps are Chelsea Crew don't seem to be available in navy anymore but here they are in red and white which I also have (and so did Peggy Carter on the show...just saying) : www.amazon.com/Chelsea-Crew-G...
The lipstick I have on is Coloupop's liquid matte lipstick in the shade Season 10, the highlighter is their super shock highlighter in Flexitarian

Thank you for watching! - Jak na to + styl
Thank you for watching! Sorry this one took me longer than usual to put together. Due to recent developments along the Nile itself, this video is now actually rather ill timed, I really want to be understanding of that. I also wanted to take this space to suggest that any of those in a place to do so please consider donating to organizations like Unicef or Save The Children to help with their ongoing and emergency work in Sudan. Stay aware of the goings on in our wide world, please practice empathy, and stay safe out there.
You have made your mark with this one!
TheClosetHistorian this was beyond worth the wait ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Bianca, what's the name of the song you used?
The music is all from Epidemic Sound, apart from the short news reel at the start which is from the youtube audio library and is the US marine band apparently. The songs are: Egypt Calling by Sight of Wonders, Searching Through Sand by Deskant, Souvenirs from Africa by Sight of Wonders, Spirit of the Savannah by Sahara Skylight and Dreamless Nights by The New Fools.
Thank you!
Can you please make this a series? Like "what to wear as a war spy" etc? Such fun! I know that took tons of work. I can't help but want to see more 😅
Thank you! Perhaps a fall version for *ahem* international correspondents of mysterious origin ;)
@@TheClosetHistorian That sounds perfect! 😁

OH MY GOSH THE INTRO! So very clevver and made me laugh when the "film" skipped at a very specific moment :P
Edit: 4:09 that dress tho!!
Another Edit: This should be rolling in the queue for the ride featuring our favorite archaeologist...
I agree that the intro is adorable. Love the bees!
Thank you Katherine!
Totally agree! The style reminded me so much of the old travelogue films. So clever!
I appreciate all the efforts you’ve gone to make this video , so well done . A joy to watch
Thank you Tracy!

Isn't it great? She's so creative & talented. This may be my favorite video she's done yet :)
Ditto
Dare I say, this is one of the greatest look books you've ever done! love the backdrop of crates, the Indiana Jones ride commentary in the beginning, the commentary throughout the whole thing was HILARIOUS. And of course the outfits are spectacular as usual. I wish I could just clone your entire wardrobe now haha
Thank you Britney!
I did a search for “safari style women” and this came up- INSTANT like and subscribe before the video even started! This has been my style since I was a teen and seeing Keira Knightly’s Vogue magazine 2007 photo shoot in Africa. And growing up with Agatha Christie’s “Death on the Nile”, “Murder in Mesopotamia”, Indiana Jones, Out of Africa, etc. But I didn’t know what that style was called. The fact that you are a vintage fashion just makes my heart soar!!
Thank you Christiana!
Girl!!! This was so much fun! Loved the outfits, of course, but you had me at the black and white intro. So. What's next? Espionage agent in the 1930's?
Thank you Jo!
As a person who struggles to string a sentence together sometimes, I am in awe of your story telling skills! I also appreciate the time you spent in making this video after watching your behind the scenes struggles with it in Side Husselen 8. This video is awesome just like you Bianca!
Thank you Jane!
Fabulous! Loved your voiceover commentary. Such a very different and original video.
Thank you Pamela!

I thought I was i watching a newsreel in a movie theater in 1947! You nailed it.
Thank you Amy!
Thanks for making this “movie” I imagine a lot of planning for the set, the outfit with right bag, shoes, and hat.
Then editing.
I had to com back and see what pieces I need and plan my outfits as well!!
You’re Safari video was the best! Really like all those outfits. Have to get to the thrift stores to see what I can match?
Thank you Linda!
WOW!!! That was fantastic! My Mom was a 1940’s girl and she always used the term “gams”! Great attention to detail! You get a Gold Star!⭐️
Thank you Tamra!
What a great video. So creative. I loved the Indiana Jones vibe.
Thank you!
Awesome!
Total Indiana Jones vibes!! I want to go ride the ride now!!
piratelvr35 Right so fun!

I watched this when you posted it and of course after seeing your latest video I had to come back and watch it again!
I didn't realize those boxes were handmade, they look amazing and are very realistic. They may have been such a pain in the butt, but they turned out great and I do appreciate the fact that you didn't give and throw the idea out the door after making the first box. Not everyone has that kind of commitment.
The result was stunning and truly something to be proud of.
Thank you!
Iconic! You have embodied the archetype of the modern, elegant adventuress. I am dying for this wardrobe, but could live for the short sleeve jackets and That. White.Dress.
Thank you Diane!
Distract the youngsters with your gams! Love the cheek and nod to fashion videos from the past. The voice over is spot-on.
Thank you! ;)
Well, I only found these videos today, and now I am binge watching all of them. They are just so good! Much more fun than lookbooks usually are :)
Thank you! I try to do a bit extra 😅
Great job, your hard work has paid off. Thanks for your time and effort.
Thank you Rebecca!

Absolutely amazing. Your hard work is really appreciated.
Thank you!
I actually thought that you went out and bought wooden crates! Great job on the fabrications! You can definitely tell that you're an excellent writer. The script was so smart. Loved it!
Thank you! It would have been easier and possibly the same price to get real crates by the time I was done ha!
I looooove the effort and care you put into really giving that vintage vibe, this is so perfect. Takes me back to watching classic Hollywood with my mom as a kid.
Thank you Jenna!
This was so much fun to watch ! I loved the narrative.
Thank you Tina!

Thank you Janna! I had to break out the fog machine just for extra fun ;)
Lovely outfits for lovely ladies. This was fun to watch.
Thank you!
Love this on so many levels, amazing!! Years ago, I was on an East African safari for a month. Some of your outfits reminded me of that special time. Thank you so much. xo
Thank you Gwen! I hope to go someday myself :)
Another hit! So much fun, we can see you put a lot of work into the adventure offering. And did I spot the famous suitcase extraordinaire? In the background. Goldenrod! Ha! No fans? Loved every minute of this video.
Thank you Mya!
You've put do much effort and dedication into this, and it shows!!!! I love your backdrop, the music, the editing, and of course the outfits!! Also you're hilarious hehe :-)

First things first.....cute hair! Bangs new? Your voice.....omg adorable perfect narration!! The outfits....to die for! Love the entire thing! Awesome job!!
Thank you Brenda! The bangs I have actually had since November, but I usually hide them in my side part style ;)
what an awesome lookbook. Your editing and creativity are amazing, and I definitely can see the hard work you put into this, and the CRATES OMG GIRL YASSSS

Thank you!
I love all of the detail you put into the editing and backgrounds, your sense of humor and of course, the clothes! So inspiring! I can't wait for the next one!
Thank you Sarah!
Fabulous! You really brought your sassy best to this! The set look amazing - all of that work totally paid off, you should be proud of yourself. I think it's great that you have dedicated videos to Adventure Style, it is your passion and provides a real point of differentiation between you and other vintage style personalities on social media.
Thank you Heidi! I feel like my style tends to lean into adventure for the summer and a bit gothic/noir in the fall/winter :)
This video is amazing!!! Thank you so much! The outfits are gorgeous. And I am loving the commentary.
Thank you Anastasia!
Fantastically camp and great escapism from Sunday chores :) Thank you
Thank you Lily!
Bravo!!. Feeling super inspired now 🤩.. can’t wait to try and put some of these looks together myself.
Thank you Judi!

Thank you!
Your originality is beyond unreal!!! THIS was amazing!
Thank you!
Great video. Wonderful backdrop. Beautiful clothes and you looked gorgeous in every outfit. 💚
Thank you Rhonda!
everything about this video gives me life. especially the part about extra funding
Ha thank you! I was having extra fun with the voice over at that point ;)
I’ve just watched your Side Husselen video and it backs up what I thought - you spent huge amounts of time and a chunk of money on the set! I really admire your commitment and the effect is fantastic. I thought you’d purchased all those boxes ready-made! Well done - even though you found it tough to finish. And I love all your videos by the way!
Thank you Kristy!
What a fun video! So “Poirot -Death on the Nile” ish 🥰🧐
I loved outfit number 5 the Gray skirt suit. Have you made that yourself?
I’m crazy about that skirt. It would be so cool for a sewing tutorial!!! What do you think? 😁😁😁😁🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you! I did make the bolero suit. I'd love to make another of this suit with a matching vest too, for a 3 piece set, as they still have this fabric sometimes at joanns in black and white and a dark grey too. Hopefully sometime and I'll certainly film the process!
Adventure-style vintage isn't usually my thing. (My usual jam is 1965-75s fashion, but make it goth, or the 90s does the 60s and 70s). I've been wanting to expand and have more 1940s-1950s outfits. I do like how you've style everything and love/appreciate the hard work you've put into making the background and props. Maybe I'll have to try one or two outfits that fit in with adventure-style. You've given me an idea of what I could try through thrifting (online).
Thank you!
As always you look fabulous! Just the looks I have been drooling over in vintage murder mystery shows and films!
Thank you Kathryn!
This is my favorite video of yours so far!! So well done and brilliantly pieced together! You're a doll!!
Thank you!
The day you start melting every dad shirt from the thrift store together is when I'll stop watching. Thanks again for the true creative effort ~
Thank you Lily!
"Distract the youngsters with your gams..." XD
What absolute fun! Your time and effort are well appreciated Bianca. Well done!
Thank you Katie!
This is magnificent! Thank you for all the hard work you must have put into it. ..it's soooo unique and entertaining! Love ALL the outfits, the music, and the text is just wonderful in how it relates to each ensemble! Thank you!
Thank you!
Bianca, you’re right! All the outfits are totally Death on the Nile worthy! Thank you for creating this gorgeous piece of footage and putting together all those amazing outfits, accessories and all. New and very happy sub here 😁.
Thank you!

Thank you!
I love this so much!! Brilliant everything! Music, outfits, editing, writing, VO, hair&makeup, SET!! Loved every second! I also made a safari style dress from a Butterick pattern last year and have a video about it, but you've inspired me to get more theatrical with my next video. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Liz!
So fun! Congrats on the hard work! This video is definitely making me reconsider khakis and autumn colours! My fave pieces were the pattered dress and grey skirt! Both so gorgeous! And I loved the ode to Indiana Jones!
Thank you Paz!

Thank you Linda!
Amazing!!!you should win some sort of you tube prize for this.thank you so much!!!
Thank you Susan!
Why,why, why aren't you using Patreon? This is fabulous content! Exactly the sort of thing people want to support! Great job, I have watched this three times and I am off to watch it again.
Thank you! Honestly the reason I'm not on Patreon is because I don't think my "audience" is large enough to support it, that and the extra time to do extras over there I just don't have currently unfortunately. I'd like to have one someday of course
I love the set! A very well done video! All the inspiring outfits and the vintage atmosphere: perfection 👌
Thank you!
This is honestly the coolest lookbook I think I've ever seen???
Thank you Calina!
Absolutely fabulous ! You really outdid yourself on this one! The opening reminds me of the jungle cruise ride at Disney.
Thank you! I love the jungle cruise, Adventureland is my favorite :)
Wow! Style goals. I admire the amount of work you put into this video. I really enjoyed it. Your content is worth a standing ovation. You deserve so much more recognition because you are amazing! Thank you so much for brightening my day! I wish I could go vintage shopping with you one day!
Thank you Emma!
OMG - this was great! Love the music, voiceover and top notch editing!
Thank you Lisa!
This is my favorite video you have done! I know videos like that take a lot of work, so thank you for doing it. Plus the outfits were adorable and inspiring.
Thank you!
I found a great pair of adventure style shoes yesterday. They're cognac leather and woven material (almost looks like woven straw). They look like they are based on vintage men's shoes. They were 70% off. Best of all, they're flats!
Amazing! Fun, unusual and interesting! Love the faux crates 😊(so much work!!) but absolytely everything looks fantastic actually. Keep on!
Thank you!
👏 oh, wow, that was amazing! Thank you, that you are taking us with you to your adventure trips, I enjoyed it very much! 🛩 ⚱️🐪 🌴
Thank you!
Adorable as always!
Thank you Eleanor!
This was so well put together and so worth the wait.
Thank you Kelly!
Fabulous! Superfun to watch, love all the detail, gorgeous styling as always. That white dress look stunning on you, a hope to see a patterncutting video of that sometime.
Thank you Alix!
So creative!!! Made me want to go on safari!!!! Thanks Bianca!!!
Thank you! I want to go on one too!
Love this fashion show, so we'll done.
Watching your video was as fun as going to Adventureland! The work you put into the set was absolutely worth it, it had my jaw on the floor! Thank you for such a fun video! I’m ready to dress for a expedition now! Lol
Thank you Catlin!
2:42 - Give. Me. That. Skirt!
Excellent video.
Excellent clothes.
Well done!
Thank you Heidi!
I LOVED this. it was so cute and fun and I loved the references to the Disneyland Indiana ride
Thank you! I love that ride ;)
/Holy crap/ this is amazing work. The staging, the voiceover, the little sound effects and all the editing magic.. my gosh. This must have taken half a century but it came out incredible!
Thank you!
I am now of the opinion that khaki is the most glamorous of things so I guess all of your hard work has paid off! This video is amazing and is my new aesthetic.
Thank you Chae!
You style has inspired me to do more vintage (anything 40s-60s). I am planning a 10 day cruise around the UK in late Sept/early October and while I am coming up with lots of ideas for vintage outfits while on board the ship, I am at a loss as to how to incorporate vintage style when trapesing all over the England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. If you can point me to any other videos that might inspire me (i.e. very casual, comfortable, yet very vintage, attire for "expeditions"), that would be so appreciated.
You look straight out of Death on the Nile, I loved all the outfits!
This was just so wonderfully put together. The outfits are phenomenal as usual (but of course since they match the wearer). I just love how this video came together. Great video! ❤️
Thank you!
That was a superbly entertaining video on the first day of summer! Thank you !
Thank you Nathalie!
