Drinking and drugs pull you away from Jesus. The more you use, the more you are pulled away. The more unwanted doors are opened by the devil who sees you are not walking with Jesus, and are vulnerable to his dark attacks. I know these things becuase of my own substance abuse. Praise Jesus... Who is healing me. Who has healed my addiction's.

The bible talks about drunkeness 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. God didnt say the works of the flesh are drinking wine or alcohol but its a sin to be drunk. For example Looking at a woman for too long as a man sometimes, can lead to lusting and adultery. Just looking at the woman isnt a sin, but the lusting is. Just as drinking wine itself isnt a sin but getting drunk by it or strong drink is. Its about self control. I was a junkie so self control was out the picture for me but for others who can drink a little wine without over drinking at limiting themselves without getting drunk. Its okay
I haven't drank in a few years but I'd say whether or not drinking a 🍺 is a sin it itself, it always lead me to negative low vibration behavior if I drank enough and I would end up sinning one way or another while under the influence.

In Catholicism, they give wine during Holy Communion to everyone, even children. Jesus's first miracle, turning water into WINE (John 2:1-11). In 2 Timothy 5:23, we are told; "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." However, (KJV) Proverbs 23:20-21 "Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags." The point being, if you drink in excess, you become a fool. You speak things you should not, as a follower of Jesus Christ, you are expected to stay holy.

Alchohol is not the problem, its the way people use it. There is a reason alchohol is called spirits, you should not take it lightly. We all know the good feeling it can give us, but we also know how destructive a drunk person can be. I have always been a rebel, but each time i wanted to try something new or get to know a certain type of people, god let me meet them and learn the hard way that those are not good people. I cant tell you how many times god has given me a wake up call from toxic enviroments. But he has always been there to catch me when i fall, and for someone to love me even though i have misbehaved like i did, you earn my full respect and loyalty for that Jesus. After i accepted him good things began to happen, when i thank him for small things in life, its like he listens and comforts me, and that is a precious gift.

If drinking is a sin then Jesus caused people to sin. First merecal water to the best of wine after they were already drunk. Bible says it specifically.
I think drinking in excess is a sin. As you rightfully said Jesus changed water into wine for man to enjoy. When man goes overboard that's when it becomes a sin. Just like eating. Glutiny is a sin God gave us food to eat so we can survivie but the way some people eat is like there wont be food tomorow so they must consume everything now.

I get so tired of this argument. 1 Corinthians talks about different convictions the body of Christ has. I feel like if you have a spiritual conviction to Alcohol then you shouldn’t berate or judge a fellow brother or sister in Christ who doesn’t. There’s nothing in the Bible that says drinking is a sin. Now if it gets to the point of getting drunk then it becomes sinful behavior bc then it’s in the realm of gluttony. Alcohol, to me, can be as much of a stumbling block as too much food or anything else for that matter. Anything in this world can become an addictive or sinful behavior if you’re not careful. What YOU have to do is consult the Holy Spirit and decide does this take me from my walk with God? Does my behavior or action dishonor him? If it’s not clearly stated in the Bible and you feel no spiritual conviction then that’s between you, God, and no one else. Period!

I personally wish the water into wine story did not happen. Why even bother drinking wine if it causes or MAY cause a brother or sister to stumble??? Or create such confusion and misunderstanding.... If it was such a bad thing, why even perform the act. It would've been better to teach a sermon against drinking wine at that moment then to perform a miracle. This is an old and tiring argument that never gets old. My conclusion, don't even bother drinking wine. Grape Juice and Wine are two different things. Wine by definition is fermented fruits and has been done since ancient and biblical times as we all should know. If that's a sin to even say such a thing, then I'll own up to that very sin because, it is an honest questioning thas caused many people to stumble. There's more statements to say that it is wrong or that we should be AGAINST taking it, but yet it is verily portrayedand written in scripture to have been done. The church that I'd go to when I was younger serves grape juice in partaking rememberance of Jesus and his sacrifice. We all know it's not wine. I want to go back soon than later. As always wondered, how would people of Earth honestly respond or react, after being so uptight and so on edge, if Jesus offered them wine in Heaven??? Would you decline the offer and say, I do not drink wine? I'm genuinely curious, cause what is there to be expected in heaven when we don't really know for sure??? We just get these ideas and grasp little bits of information.

Hi Father I've been looking at a history on food since the Roman times and I believe that's when when Moses took his people they had wine jugs like Italians we drink wine because like the Greeks we drink it with our food and because we enjoy it it's not the same as people getting drunk and want to get high or stoned or any of that foolishness as an Italian I drink wine with my meals and I have it with a good cigar
