  • One of the last models designed by the late, great Alexi Laiho - the ESP LTD Alexi Ripped model was released alongside its Hexed counterpart in 2021. But with E-II and ESP models available, is it worth spending more instead of opting for the more affordable LTD version?

    The locking tuners on a floyd guitar are for string changes. I always add em. Especially when you tech for your band.

      @@XMetalChefX yeah i agree with you, especially when it comes to change first three strings - it's way easier with locking tuners.

      Same here, locking tuners are such a great thing when doing strings changes locking tremolo or not. Never understood why people would complain about getting locking tunings to begin with. All E-II models come with ten standard

      The FR1000 with this LTD is really good.
      Solid Steel 🤜🤛
      Patents got recently old and companies manufacture FR1000 in China as well.
      So, there are different FR1000 versions out there, some even in thrown to 300€ guitars.
      Those utilizes softer flow steel in saddles and some Chinese versions in Harley Bentons have Zinc Alloy, previously found only in FRS and Licensed trems.
      Its obviously not widely broadcasted but this LTD has excellent Korean made Floyd.
      Its just saddles hardened from Flow Steel but nothing to worry about.
      I have LTD-1000 Deluxe from 2014 with Korean Floyd1000 (the good one like this has) and I've played the heck out of it.
      Stays in tune, no probs with saddles or excessive wear in knife edges still of today.
      LTD Ripped is quality instrument and the price tag corresponds the quality.
      Good to go,. I mean Shred 👊🍻

    FRT 1000 are the same hardened steel as the og german ones. I have one that's in my Jackson RR24, been there for 15 years and still works great. I believe they are made in Korea instead of Germany, but the process on these is said to be the same. I can attest to it - it has been absolutely flawless for all that time. Edit: you did mention it coming from Korea by the end, but my point still stands. ^^

      yeah, the 1000s are hardened but they are actually a slightly different steel alloy from what I could gather. And obviously the way in which they are manufactured are going to differ. Just because the 1000s are hardened doesn’t mean it’s manufactured of quality.
      The 1000s from my experience owning many guitars with both tremolos; the knife edges tend to ware much quicker. The Originals will still always be much superior. You’re getting German Quality and manufacturing techniques.

    • @Juicexlx
      @Juicexlx Před rokem

      It has a slight tendency to neck dive when standing It reaches horizontal (0 degree), then stops rotating. When sitting down, it's very stable with the classical fretting hand position (like a classical acoustic guitar). Very precise and very comfortable to me...I own the LTD ALX V600 SE Pinky with the longer lower wing. I also have a King V LTD 200 in Basswood, that one body-dives & the neck shoots up. The ALX model is way better balanced.

    The Floyd Rose 1000 is just as good as the OG Floyd and is made in Korea. They are both made with grade 8 steel and the only downside to a Floyd Rose 1000 is if you get the black chrome model (the gray one) the finish tends to fade over the years. I have actually had Floyd Rose 1000s that were better than one of the German Original Floyd Roses I have

    • @fragtagninja1633
      @fragtagninja1633 Před 2 měsíci

      There is only one guitar factory in Korea, and they have always made amazing high quality guitars at affordable prices. Knowing the Koreans, it makes sense that a Floyd rose 1000 being made there would be solid. I have the LTD arrow 1000, and it might be the best guitar I've ever owned. And I once had a PRS McCarty ten top core series. Which is about a $5000 guitar new. You can't beat stainless steel frets on a guitar under $2000. Period.
