friend of mine had a nice machine shop. he always used a vacuum to clean the lathe/mill/etc. instead of an air hose. i was never that sophisticated but it makes sense.
Awesome work as always. Really appreciate the info you gave me about hollow cylinders a couple months ago. Finally got my bva 30T and it’s been a life saver
I know you take pride in your repairs the precision and accuracy you make on your repairs are great always willing to learn especially at my age 65 been welding almost 50 years and have done so much but these repair of heavy equipment love it❤ keep those videos the more l see the more l get motivated thanks 💯✌🏼👏
Here's the next great project idea for the apprentice: Magnetic holder for welding guns. So you can just plopp the holder to the nearest metal surface so you can use the wire brush with both hands. The other day I barely _grazed_ some polythene insulation sheeting with a wire brush and the damn thing caught and nearly took my head off. And I was even using the side grip. Assuming the lad is finished with those milling cutter storage units we discussed a couple months back, how are those coming along btw?
Another fine and interesting episode young man. Buy some Manuka honey (550+), chop three garlic cloves into it, put it in a cupboard for a week to infuse and then take one teaspoon of it each day for a week and then ease off to once every three days. I have just sorted some for my hayfever/rhinitus and have it on good authority it works. I do know that genuine and 100% pure Manuka honey is extremely good for a lot of ailments for the body.
Almost easy $$$$$$$$ I’d say cutting oil or honey oil and slower rpm’s would get a cleaner cut for the pin bolt holes. Slower is sometimes better. Then graphite antisieze everything.
Nice work, I just finished up doing one of these with the hydraulic drive climax BB5000, a bit smaller bores, using the 1 1/4” bar. Had to cut holes in the floor and a small hole in the side wall of bucket to fit everything including the bore welder. I think it was for a Volvo, big Craig trash bucket. Always enjoy seeing your videos and seeing your posts in the line boring FB page, always very nice work. Been following for a while now and looking forward to seeing your CZcams presence/ following grow.

Olá amigos acompanahndo o trabalho!!! Perfeito como sempre, pena que não da p´ra fazer todo trabalho sentado!!!kkkkk... Abraço e boa sorte sempre!!!
I’ve learned so much from Watching your videos! Thank you for creating the content and supporting the welding community. I only have a miller 211 at this point but I am just a hobbyist trying to learn as I go. I love the videos that go into detail with everything that you are doing for the fact that I can learn your techniques and what to do and what not to do. I always see you welding uphill compared to welding downhill and I would love to know the reasoning behind that. I know that If you weld downhill it’s a pretty weld compared to welding up hill. Would be greatly appreciated to get your input on that… Once again thanks for your videos!
How you're doing! That bucket is huge, and the idea of reinforcing this is great. l see l have the same welding jacket but keep up the video's be safe!.
Very cool! Would a bevel weld prep allow deeper penetration on those bosses? Too bad you couldn't get them mounted inside those large channels so they would be internal to the structure...but there should be MORE than enough meat to last a very long time! Keep em coming!!!!
Love you vidieos, keep up the good work!! I like that S power line boaring machine you got, how did you get it? I went on there website but couldn't find how much they are, or who sells them over here, how did you get yours?
easy to make those pins greaseabe. you counter bore a 3/4" hole in the end of the pin then drill your grease hole and cross drill the outlets. the zerk goes down in the 3/4" counter bore. that way its protected. excavator pins are like this from the factory.
@@OFW you might want to get yourself a "U Drill" for these situations. that way you are just replacing a couple cheap inserts and not the whole shebang when going through the hard stuff. heck of alot cheaper. that looks like a maritool 3 flute 3/4 endmill. them suckers are 180 bucks...last time i chipped one i nearly cried :)
Three phase comes in at 480 volts I guess the worst you can do is trip a circuit breaker by using as many 120 volt wires to get to the volts and watts of the motor you want to run or whatever the device says it needs for votes and watts obviously 4 1:20 wires are 480 but Google says coming from the power company it drops down to 460 due to loss of the line
By the hour. You never know what kind of extra atrocities you find inside the parts, but once you cut it open it's your problem even if you quoted it a fixed price for the job. No good, that.
I don't get it. Do the bolts going through the pins not interfere with whatever the pins are supposed to be mating to? Maybe I need to re-watch one of the earlier videos to see how the whole thing fits together.
@@OFW keep do your videos they are good to watch and learn how things are done and how other people solve and fix problems. I forgot to. But basically they can install the floor liner then add a small piece of 1/2” flat bar to fit under them and it will give a nice strong joint. Basically it’s to make my customers life a little easier.
@OFW that’s quite the difference wow. Now that you’ve had some time with the s power do you feel it’s a usable setup? I’m really considering buying one to be able to do some side work as there’s no one in my area that has one. but I’ve never been around a line bore of any kind.
@@colesammons2137I feel like it’s decent for the price. It can definitely do a good job. I am designing adjustable bearing mounts to make the setup easier.
Think I might pull the trigger and see if I can learn how to use it. Really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions hope to see you using it more in the future.
Hey man,not sure if you already do this, but would you mind including the price of work you do in your videos? i feel like one of the bigger problems with guys starting out doing there own work ( like me) is they dont know how to price there time. or maybe a standalone video about that

Hey Greg, i just got a reply from an on fire copycat on another video, telling me I'm a 'winner'. Stole your avatar picture and call themselves @OnFireWelding2 with a scam number attached to the name too, like they do with whatsapp messages or whatever! I reported it but you may have to get involved cause they're copying your name and channel. Just a heads up. You're getting really popular when they come out of the woodwork trying to be you!😅 I hate scamers like this too, way too many people fall victim to them. Good luck man
Couldn't you drill a hole in the pin that way that it would have a group to follow the grease out to the ends where you have your new bushings so the grease for the center with grease the outside as well sir
Excellent Greg !
Ive always loved the saying,be self employed and you can work half days, pick any 12 hours out of the day !
Oh, how life would be if line boring was as fast as fast video editing. So happy the new shop chairs are getting action!
Enjoyed!

I weld uphill and downhill depending on the situation. Typically uphill has better penetration and fusion and is regarded as a “stronger” weld.
Yup gotta love working on those stall scoops and manure haul trucks.🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
Nothing like the smell of old cow pics in the morning
I always preferred the anchor lube we were using it back in the mid 90s
It is not coolant... It has its place... but it is not a coolant.

spike disc is good 👍
When I worked in Turlock the shop owner walks through and says "that's the smell of money in this valley"
Looks like silage juice.
Basically fermented chopped corn juice.
Sniff, sniff……? You need a pill to control your allergies! Lov your channel and all the contents.
They are bad this time of year!
It’s all the dairy juice!
👍
The finish job is much stronger than the factory and at least it's somewhat greaseable which is way better than factory.
With the 3"s of extra metal on each side, the lifting capacity & forces used on this will last a long time. Good engineering 😁😁
Find it interesting 😊
hey man im up in mariposa, love your work. i would love to see some first hand.

I don’t think a bevel would add any benefit in this situation.

The voltage varies by location. I only have 240v
How much is the cowpiss upcharge on the final invoice? lol, great job as always
No extra charge
i’m getting into the mobile welding industry and was wondering in a job like this do you charge by the hour or by the job
Everything by the hour.
By the hour. You never know what kind of extra atrocities you find inside the parts, but once you cut it open it's your problem even if you quoted it a fixed price for the job. No good, that.
What welding wire did you use it
Lincoln 71a75
Putting a 2 inch thick pin sett on then steel kind of like the tail wagging the dog

The other piece goes under the bucket. In between the pieces I welded on.
Do you wear a mask when you weld
Sometimes

Yes, but when pins break they usually break on the grease holes. There was a pin breaking issue and I didn’t want to chance it.
