I like your take on 40 year olds who are biased to big bang era that was the 90s early 2k's
I know it's attitude era but I think it's closer to big bang because of how competitive the business was then and it was the time where wrestlers could speak freely and do whatever they wanted even if it wasn't self serving. And In poor taste. True freedom. And I'm 30 next year and remember the first match I watched was hbk vs Bret Hart ironman match. was hooked.
these 40 year olds are unfair on that assessment of modern day wrestling but they're also not wrong. There won't be a time where wrestling reaches that 90s pinnacle.. literally impossible unless somehow the WWE can find a way to make more adult friendly carnage with full range of weapons use, and high risk high reward stunts. Wrestling before the 90s never even came close to what the 90s had
And today's won't ever come close. Just not possible. And let's be real, the gimmicks are awful these days. Plain Jane. 0% Interesting. Even tho it's not the wrestlers faults. It's just like if Larry the cable guy came on to do a comedy set after Richard prior or Dave Chappelle. U simply just can't follow that up
