- The closure follows Heineken’s decision to move its production back in-house, which Molson Coors said had contributed to its decision to close the brewery. It said its had been unable to replace work lost from Heineken. The 50-year-old brewery in Alton will close in May next year.
Molson Coors, while closing one site, is in the process of investing £75 million in its Burton Brewery - one of the biggest single capital investments in British brewing for decades. The capital will be used to improve brewing technology at the brewery and its infrastructure as part of a five year redevelopment plan to support the production of 1.2 billion pints of beer a year.
Molson Coors brews and distributes products under the Heineken, Amstel Light, Murphy’s, Newcastle Brown Ale, Strongbow cider, Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft, Miller Chill, Milwaukee’s Best, and Milwaukee’s Best Dry brands.C
ALA Homes (Thames) Ltd has announced its involvement in the promotion of the 12.8-acre Alton brewery site following an exchange of agreement with the Molson Coors Brewing Company UK Limited.
The developer’s involvement in this project will see the regeneration of the former Manor Park brewery on Lower Turk Street, principally “residential-led” but, it has been confirmed, with provision on site for a new community centre and business premises.
Molson Coors has worked closely with East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) to agree a development brief for the regeneration of the site and agreed to sell the site to CALA, through its adviser Vail Williams LLP, earlier this year.

The gas smell in the showers is where the water in the U bends has evaporated and all the sewer gas now vents up the sink and shower waste pipes.

I learn about 200 things every time I watch one of Matt's videos I remember about 90% of it because it is interesting; shame I can't say the same about anything I learnt at school.

My old towns brewery got turned into a housing estate. Another good upload although I’m 10months late 😂. Can you get into the old white star line offices in Liverpool? Well done guys on an epic explore, watching it knowing security would turn up but when just added to the suspense. Those brewing vats were massive as were the buildings they were housed in, but when security turned up so did my nerves. Matt you need a red filter for your torch! Switching back and forth doesnt give your eyes time to adjust. The red light will and still allowing you to see your way! Cool explore, keep up the good work
doesnt work for me as i cant see red light at all well whilst its burning others eyes out. So i would be totally overdoing it with red for me to see red.
Just a note about mobile phones on forecourts. Most people think that they're banned because of fire/explosion risk but it's nothing to do with that. The ban on mobile phones on forecourts was first introduced by Shell to prevent accidents, after somebody ran into a petrol pump while using his phone while he was driving.

The photo with the accepted condition was part of a business improvement system, we had business improvement training which was to help management get conditions to a standard where the workers should keep too without much pestering, so as a manager, I would look at the photo and sign off of note important for the team in charge of the area, it worked for all of about 6 weeks but I stopped me moaning for a while. Lol

No we only got in the brewing building. we didnt make it into the warehouse area or see any tunnel.

I was using my night vision however in order to film we used the low light cam. On our way out we were nightvision all the way for the win.

If the box you tried to unlock had a electronic switch on before, the switch would need to be off before box could open. But I did not see if it was an isolator or just box. Not much help but info any way lol

Mobiles can most certainly cause induced sparks in petrol stations from RF, because the spark usually isn't in the fone, it's in the object that the RF is induced into, so the voltage magnification depend on the circuit Q of the induced object. This is impossible to mitigate or even quantify because you can never be sure what objects will be in the area and what frequencies they will form a tuned circuit at. This is a fundemental principle of RF-induced ionisation in uncontrolled areas. The only safe method of mitigation is to prohibit RF transmitters from the area. At 1.8 or 2.1GHz objects can achieve very high Q unintentionally, for example in another mobile fone front end or even on abunch of keys. It doesn't need to be insude an electronic technology device - it could be caused by a strip of wire bent into a loop. As long as the object is close to the fone transmitter antenna, the Q is high enough and the power is sufficient, any given dielectric substance will break down and arc over.
The problem can be compunded because once a high-Q circuit is on te verge of producing RF plasma at a microscopic scale then electrostatic discharges can utilised the near-plasma state to further breakdown air (or air+flammable vapiour mixture) dielectric.
Just because someone didn't blow the crap out of themselves once (or many thousands of times) doesn't meant that it won't happen. Several tanker or pipeline fires in West Africa have been documented on video as being triggered by mobile fone usage. In the very humid environment prevalent in the oil areas of Nigeria, static basically can be ruled out (90-99% humidity is common there)
Even illegal oil refinery operators (good vice video on YT somewhere) avoid carrying mobiles - from hard-learned experience.
Nowadays, the risk is far less because the increase in mast coverage in developed countries is so dense that both masts and fones don't need to use full power (in GSM the RF ouptup power is controlled maintain a good S/N(+N) ratio, measured by ramping the RX front end gain) In simple terms, more masts = lower power required. Other extreme, one mast per country, massive power required (as well as throughput problems due to everyone trying to use one mast)
You also have to bear in mind that mobile fones repeatedly exchange signals with the masts even when not in use, to enable them to hop between cells for voice calls and also when exchanging data.
So in theory, you don't just have to be talking on a fone for it to be a problem.
A classic example of RF circuit Q is a tuned magnetic loop antenna. You can feed in say 10Volts peak-to-peak of RF and have seveal kilovolts at the capacitor due to the high circuit Q. In mobile fones, this just happens at a smaller physicaly scale.
